Time to get rid of our opponents health meter

I like being able to see my stamina on the screen, but I don't think we should be able to see our opponents when playing online. I think fights would be a lot more interesting (on the ground especially) if they did something about this. It's been a while since I've played, but I could swear that at least one of the Fight Nights allowed for this. Anyone else share these feelings?

I feel both should removed. It should be based on visual cues.

Higher divisions, definitely.

Well if they get rid of the opponents, you can always turn off your own if you don't want to see it. I just feel like you should be able to gauge your own stamina in a fight.

NBA 2K has it were if you go up to a certain rank your allowed to use classic and legend teams in ranked matches, now for UFC if there were something like this were if you make it to say Div. 8 in the new UFC 3 game, all Huds and any grapple info get turned off. This way the top Div. can feel different and special when you make it.

I can dig it. 8 is too high, though. You have to play way too many games to get to that level. I think they should start it at 5 or 6 if they went that route. I'd rather it just be the default setting, though.

Division 5 and up should be no HUD. You should have a good feeling for the game by then.

Re: Time to get rid of our opponents health meter

FNC was the game that didn't allow you to see your opponents health or stamina. It was beautiful. You had to actually pay attention.

The problem with that in UFC is UFC doesn't have enough visual cues to make it effective. Besides slow punches, there is no other way to visually gauge the energy level of your opponent, especially on the ground.

In FNC, you could tell an opponents energy level just by their movement or the grunts they made when they threw punches. High level stuff. I hope one day UFC can catch up.

I would love for them to do this, but it wouldn't be fair to casuals. They would get demolished online. If people can't manage their stamina now, imagine if they couldn't even see the bar...
