I understand that, in just saying it takes energy. Not every UFC fighter can move like that for even 3 rounds without tiring, granted there is a lot of other activities going on.

I also believe not every fighter has insane levels of fitness.

I think a decent example is Conor. One post fight breakdown I watched on the Diaz fight specifically talked about Conor's slips as one of the contributing factors to him tiring fast. Conor slipping most strikes rather than blocking or parrying was said to spend a lot more energy.

I don't think his "slips" are what gassed him out. Loading up, and throwing everything at Diaz is what gassed him out. He underestimated him, and thought he could take him out quickly.

Conor is a boxer, slips, head movement and defense are all his fundamentals. It also got him through his other 19 wins.

Re: Constantly swaying should tax stamina

I said it was contributing factor, not the only thing. I don't train, but when writers that I respect say things like that I take their word for it.

They idea of a pro athlete, even if in the best shape possible, not spending much energy bobbing and weaving doesn't make sense. Your body can't can't move without using energy, it's against the laws of physics.

Backdash needs stamina increase as well, especially when spammed.
