New Mode Idea to replace/improve the Ranked Mode.

So i just came up with this and if the roster continues to be this big and continues increasing this idea can come in handy, it can definitely improve the Ranked mode and perhaps change it completely and call it the Elimination mode:



Description:

Each time you are at the fighter selecting screen you have an X ammount of Points.
You use those points to BAN fighters and disable your opponent and yourself from picking them.
With what you have left after the banning phase, you pick one of the remaining fighters accordingly.
Each fighter is ranked in a Class: Legendary/A/B/C.
The Class determines how expensive a fighter is to be picked/banned.(Class C should cost 0 points to pick and 1 point to ban)

Note: You can no longer pick the same fighter in Elimination mode.


The class of each Fighter depends on:

-the fighter's stats
-how often he is banned by you
-how often he is picked by you
-how often he is picked by your current opponent


The X ammount of points you have on each fight, depends on:

-how many weight classes you had selected in the matchmaking
-how many points you saved by not banning/picking expensive fighters on your past games
-What is your rank compared to your opponent's rank?(It could balance the rank differences)
-how did you finish your last 3 fights ( Were they all KO? All Decision? All Submission? If you changed it up, More points for you)
-Did you KO your opponent in the last 3 fights? Were all your KO's from the same tactic of Mauy Thai Clinch Knees? Were you being an D***head and kept ground and pounding on his unconcious body and the ref had to get you off of him?(less points for you)
-Did you shake hands at the beginning of your last fight? Did you initiate the shake hand but canceled it for a cheap shot?
-You were taunting all game but you got KO'ed/Submitted? Lots of Points lost.
-You were taunting all game and you got the Job Done and dominated your opponent? Big pay off.

Example of how this would work:
-Jon Jones starts as a class A fighter.
-It requires 6 points to pick him and 6 to ban him.
-If yo keep picking him(let's say 4/5 of your last games is with Jon),his class will rise to Legendary for your client for your next 5 games and it will require 10 points to pick/ban him.




This could really improve the game overall and give people more of a reason to pick other fighters in Ranked and change their playstyle to make the mode so much more realistic, varied and fun.

That is pretty much it. It would require people to strategically pick their fighters and strategically ban their weaknesses, but not allow them to avoid them forever.


With That said, i'd love it if the Fighter Selection screen looked something like this: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/pZh3HW3hElI/maxresdefault.jpg

It would be much less of a hassle.


if programmed correclty, the whole thing could even be set up as a gameplan, before you even begin matchmaking, so that you don't have to waste time each time in banning and selecting fighters. You should be allowed to fix a pre-made plan that automatically bans opponents and has automatically fighter picking priorities or smth.


P.S. Some gameplay ideas i had, that could be added on the how your points are affected list:

-After you KO someone do you time a perfect KO walk off celebration or do you keep ground and pounding your opponent?
-If you get submitted you are required to press a button 3 times to tap or else if you go to sleep/your limb breaks,you have decreased points for your next fight.
-If you were being busted up, but you kept defending and fighting to survive and the ref had to step in to stop the fight, you will get more points for showing heart.
-If your opponent taps 3 times, did you let him go or did you put him to sleep/broke his limb?
-When you KO'ed your opponent and you kept ground and pounding him, but the ref didn't see him go limp, did you stop on your own the beating or did u cause more damage than nescessary to your opponent?

Neat idea. Wouldn't say it should replace ranked but it could be its own entity.

Would love a way to ban fighters, but EA and the UFC aren't going to take away people's "favorite" fighters. That is the only problem here. That can turn people off when we are trying the opposite. There needs to be more incentive to use lower rated fighters. This is where an ELO based ranking system and a multiplier would come in. There will always be people who pick top, but you don't have to reward them for it. Picking top and winning should give you the least amount of points.
