Re: Is the PS4 Pro going to make UFC 2 have better graphics?
From the little info i've gathered, pretty much what PS4 Pro will do, is take every available game that is out there and upscale it to 4k, not set it's resolution to native 4k, but upscale and it's gonna have a built-in feuture on the GPU to do that, so that the devs don't have to bother with tweaking the performance and stuff like that.
What Upscaling means, that they use Temporal Alliasing, which is a technique of rendering the game in half of it's resolution, then applying x2 MSAA. after TA, they are upscaling it to 4k. So you will be basically running the game at 1080p with this method that they are using, it's gonna be the equivalent of an AMD RX 470 or AMD RX480 downclocked.
RX480= nvidia's Gtx970.
With my Gtx970 i can run Rainbow Six Siege with the same method on 1440p and hit a solid 80fps with no issue on ultra settings except the textures, which are set to Very High. After that, there is the 4k which i am running at 45-50fps, but only because my memory is going at 3.5gb which is all the gtx970 has.
Only some confirmed titles, will offer better visuals and more detail and options cranked up higher etc.
Since EA UFC 2 was made with the smallest denominator in mind, which is Xbox One, i doubt the devs bothered with making the graphics more superior than what the Xbox One can handle.
What happens to console crossover games, is that they take the less powerfull system, they make the game so that it runs perfectly on it, then they try out their build on the ps4, since it's not perfectly tweaked for the ps4, it will most likely have worse perfomance than the xbox one, so they start tweaking it on the ps4 by reducing graphical fidelity or start from scratch on some aspects specifically for the ps4, to meet the same visual fidelity.
