Lmao. I'd feel bad if they took your Tyson super combos from you. We've grandfathered in your Tyson.

Re: How would you feel about an alternate control scheme?

I got EA MMA in the mail yesterday and got to play it for a few hours. It made me want an analog control option in UFC even more. However, I'll be the first to admit that it isn't nearly as good as Fight Night's is -- it's a bit clunky. Jabs, straights and low kicks all come out well, but hooks, uppercuts and high kicks can be very difficult to throw. I'm not sure why they didn't keep the motions the same between games, but the execution is just a touch different, which hurts things as far as throwing combos. If they could tighten that up it would be fine.

Off topic, but it was also nice to do things on the ground and clinch without waiting for meters to fill up. It's a simple system, but solid and fun. It was a nice change of pace. I dig the complexity of EA UFC, though -- just wish there was some sort of way we could the good aspects of both games to mesh in that area so I could enjoy it more.

Not a fan of EA MMA's stick as throwing certain shots were too difficult however, I'm all for a change of controls.

Some possible things to consider:
- Head movement whilst moving feet
- Pivots (no game has done this yet!!)
- Changing guards (high guard, low guard, perhaps map to face buttons)
- Head movement to throwing head shots is a bit clunky
- Strike cancel button to stop a strike mid-swing

Fight Night Champion's analog striking was better, easier to pull off the punch you wanted when compared to EA MMA.

Changing guards would be sweet. I'd love to be able to come in with my hands low/shoulder roll approach like Bobby Green will do sometimes, then switch it to those high guarding elbows Rampage uses to protect himself. Style points if nothing else lol.

Re: How would you feel about an alternate control scheme?

How would we go about doing this from a control perspective?

We have 8 buttons (12 if you count the directional buttons) and two sticks.

We need a button for a modified moves.
We need buttons for kicks.
We need buttons for punches.
We need two buttons for blocking (unless we go back to weak block).
We need a stick for movement.
We need a button for head movement.
We need a stick or buttons for grappling.

I for one am a stick striking fan. I used it exclusively for FNC. I was less of a fan of it in EA MMA for some of the reasons people listed and I hated how grappling worked in EA MMA so I dont know if I want it for UFC 3.

With that said, I'm all for more options. I'm just wondering how it would work.

The stick striking in FNC was okay, although I used buttons for jabs and straights and the stick for hooks and uppers. I don't know how you envision buttons for head movement though
