Idk why this hasn't been addressed yet. Why would you allow the fighter to go straight into a dominant position against the cage so easy. Only certain fighters (like say Silva) should be able to do that and they also should have to have the thai clinch transition (from standing) in their moveset to do it.

The default clinch against the cage for every fighter should be over/under with grapple advantage. If your fighter has Thai or double under clinch in his move set, you should have to perform the move to get that desired clinch against the cage on attempt without grapple advantage.

Why should over/under be default rather than single collar?

I'm not too hot on the idea of double under being default for wrestlers.

Over under is by far the most common initial clinch position against the cage.
Over under is also considered a 50/50 position.

At least not with the same efficiency someone like Anderson could. I was happy to see them make adjustments for taller/shorter fighters to be more balanced like in NBA but this is another nice detail they could add to differentiate fighter skills and help balance the game out.
This for days, maybe the odd good Thai style fighter who uses it alot, but when a wrestler does it instead of underhooks or something to setup a TD its always a bit jarring.
My example would be Barnett/Reem. Reem should definately have it, Barnett should have either underhooks, or if it expanded a bit with options for the offensive and defensive fighter, the double leg off the cage position.

Though he hasn't done that so much since Hapa elbowed him into 1957.

Think it should be based on the fighters primary discipline. MMA/Karate/Muay Thai = Thai Clinch, Wrestlers/Sambo/Jiu Jitsu = Double-Under/Over-Under, Boxers/Greco Roman = Single Collar.

Yeah I think over unders should be the basic fundamental clinch against the cage unless you’re a specific striker or wrestler!

I don't want Thai as the default clinch

Rather, Over/Under or Single Collar as default clinch....

and give Single Collar some striking damage (at least against the cage!) so that you don't HAVE to be in Thai to actually do damage to opponent.

I don't want SC to be "OP" but would be nice if there was some real damage potential in that position, or even possibility of health events if your opponent has been hurt throughout the fight or you land a dozen elbows in a row without them responding lol....

But yea, MT Clinch is over-used for sure in this game
