I'm no lawyer so I don't know how this works or holds up in court, but the UFC has gotten the expressed rights to fighter's likenesses in perpetuity before. If they had Mirko sign that contract then theoretically he could be in the game. Although I doubt they'd want to promote someone actively fighting in other organizations.

Only certain special strikes are different for some fighters. The general strikes are the same for most, and no surprise. It's ridiculous to demand that every fighter has their own strike down to millimeter accuracy. Unless you want the game to come out late 2018 or 2019. It's not worth it, nor is it a big issue. Most fighters generally throw most basic strikes in the same way IRL, anyway.

I think your exaggerating a little bit, I think they want the stars to have their likeness and maybe a different style of kick for differnet styles, ie roundhouse kick in tae kwon doe goes up the middle and is a flick with the foot, where as in thai its mainly hip rotation and landing with the shin.

This. The only reason any Bellator or other organizations fighters were in UFC2 was because they left the UFC after the game was finalized. Thats why Mittrione and Henderson were in 2. Rampage was in because he still had an active UFC contract.

Every UFC fighter signs a contract that grants perpetual rights to use their likeness but the UFC doesnt like to include fighters who arent in the UFC in their games.

That trailer was made before he resigned with Bellator. Doesnt mean he wont be in the game (the roster may have been locked by then.)

The reason I say majority is because there are a couple of custom ones, but they are negligible in the context of your question.
The fact you said at launch made me a lot less concerned. Atleast you guys are aware of it, which is the main thing.

Also, cool to know there will be some variations here and there.

Cheers for the reply.
