Forget the other threads this is exactly how it is done in knockout mode.
After 20 plus times winning with spinning kick to the body and failiing to unlock all you have to do is select ANNIK and ROGAN commentary before starting and now just win with spinning kick to the body and post fight rogan goes wow wow wow,then leave knockout mode and go to fight now and all other modes including knockout mode and he was there on first try. I did it on normal difficulty but it may work anyway.
I wonder if others unlocking him are just not telling us about the commentary select.

You don't need the commentary select, because I unlocked him without doing that
