History of MMA video games

Among all the improvements over the years, interesting things like grounded taunts, punch catch, head control, grounded mobility, shifts etc were in earlier games but not in EA UFC 3.

MMA games aren't the only games that have left out or stepped back in regards to features as the new iterations were released. You can make this same video with just about anything. I'm glad he considers the idea that it isn't the game but his own wearied experiences.

If the point of this was to showcase that the older games are "better" there isn't anything stopping you from going back and playing them.

Re: History of MMA video games

This is a good YT Channel I actually have this in queue to Watch Later lol ---

I never really played the UD games....the first version and its "controller shining" really turned me off lol although I did have fun playing some UD3 against some old college roommates haha

EA MMA --- loved that game

UFC 1 --- no comment

UFC 2 --- good comeback, saved the franchise especially post-launch

UFC 3 --- on the right track but To Be Determined its place in history

UD3 is still the GOAT. Hopefully EA completely revamps the ground and clinch for UFC 4 to take over. They need to redo all animations just like they did with the striking in this iteration.

I think it's really, really good. It's just shallow and everyone is already as good as they're going to get with it so it's kinda dull, if that makes sense.

Imo the wrestling and bjj animations are better than any other game, but this is mma and gnp is weak in the ea series so overall the ground is.

Ud3 flowed well with striking clinch and ground but ufc 3 feels like they are separated

I also preferred the controls on ud3 ground because it sorta felt like i was doing the transitions with my thumbs rather than pointing and waiting, though i can live with that.
