This is what should happen when you do a well timed block (like checking regular low kicks) on a oblique kick

No nothing happens. Lunging back in time sometimes initiates a similar animation, but a well timed block should do the same.

Right now you basically just eat the kick.

Right now you basically just eat the kick.
I just went into strike recording, you definitely scoot back with a low block.

There is no timing requirement on checking low kicks. You can just hold low block and check every single kick. Test it out in strike recording.

I just tested it, there is a small scoot back. Barely noticeable compared to the one from EA UFC 2.

It should be a little more pronounced. And since it's supposed to make the strike whiff, there should be greater stamina punishment.
