RDA has a 4 gate RNC currently at level 2, I think, so maybe just bump everyone's move level up?
This is fine but you'd def have to nerf top mount a bit if you want to create real balance. Currently the only reliable way to defend in top mount is rolling to your back. Whether you make the position harder to attain or easier to get out of... whatever.

But If you make back mount as dangerous as top mount... Top mount will become OP. This issue also isn't helped by how much ground stats factor into the grappling.

Re: Back Mount discussion

Last night for the first time ever I was able to GnP a guy to death from postured back mount

I had a massive stamina advantage (nearly full stamina compared to his 60%) ---- and I just spammed the **** out of strikes when i postured up since your stamina drains super-quickly lol ---

but it worked and I got the TKO for once from back mount

Good ideas in this thread. Anything that makes the ground game less static, and more dangerous (when and where appropriate), is good in my book!!!!

I agree that back mount should be buffed - not necessarily in these same ways, but I agree.

I particularly like the idea of making the RNC denied Up.

Denied up? Lol no. It has to be same direction just as it is for all other transition/submission attempts like the triangle/sweep/getup from full guard. I'm not a fan of only being able to pyramid escape from back mount with the arm trap/strike catch mechanic. There should also be a reversal for early flatten/rnc denial. There are many high level wrestlers, once they turn knees down, nobody is holding them down or flattening them out period.

As of now it's just too easy to sit in back mount. Back mount is the safest position in the game when it should be the worst! Full Guard should be the safest and it's one of the most dangerous with a good top player.

On the note about full guard.. its completely counter to reality that when your guard is closed you have more sub options than when its open. I'd love to hear why you can't be moving for more subs and sweeps in open guard.

Well I'd say that it's probably an attempt to emulate the fact that from the bottom you want to control posture. Not enough incentive to do so if when your opponent is postured you can not only arm trap them but also submit them freely.

You can submit from arm traps as well it's not just broken right now.

You want to control posture for defense but in most cases you really don't want the guy tight on top of you.. you have no space to attempt most of that stuff realistically. The animations sort of show you shrimping but they look weird and don't really look realistic.
