At the time, I didn't realize this would be my only surviving UD3 grappling video. So this was just a random ranked fight and it doesn't showcase all the intricacies of the ground game, particularly with back control and cage work.
**Also, it's recorded from an iPad. I fix the camera angle after round 1. Its still decent quality and clearly shows the fight.**
The main thing I want people to take away from this is how realistically you could emulate a grinding, smothering style. Note the underhook battle early where my opponent seems to be holding his own, then how my persistence gradually overwhelms him as the fight goes on until he's broken. You could actually use Fitch realistically.
Again, I'm playing as Fitch, so I'm purposely trying to smother and grind my opponent. I'm also using more of a wrestling style as opposed to a BJJ style, so my emphasis was on control and pressure as opposed to passing, taking the back, etc.
In my opinion, UD3 is still unlike any other MMA game to date, in that it gave you the freedom to grapple how you wanted. You could not just strike, but grapple like the fighter you picked. You could even dominate off your back. The depth is IMO still unrivaled.
