Oblique kicks

I asked this in a couple threads but was naming the technique incorrectly, so hoping I can get some answers here.

is the oblique kick punishable? You can't check it or catch it.

I had Glover vs a Jones user and he probably threw about 200 of these. I blocked a ton and tried to counter but Glover is very slow and Jones could usually get an uppercut to keep me away before I could get inside and land.

head strikes you can slip and punish, body kicks you can catch, body punches you can counter, round leg kicks you can check - what's the answer to these?

I don't know that it's a huge problem right now, they are pretty weak but if you're playing against Jones at LHW without a quicker fighter like Gus with some footwork I can see this being pretty exploitable. Most likely if this fight was at a lower weight class I could have used footwork to avoid it.. Thoughts and suggestions? Just don't play LHW? lol

Even if you can't check them you should be able to dodge them like parries sometimes used to do in EA UFC 1 & 2.

Re: Oblique kicks

if you time them you can rock them while they attempt it.

Re: Oblique kick is super broken

I agree. It's definitely OP and there needs to be more ways to successfully evade and counter. I shouldn't have to commit to blocking it. That opens up the head kick. Guys can wait for you to come in and throw it and it intercepts anything you do.
