Honestly, if they removed the already "blood accumulation" modeling because of the reasons I've heard. Making the sport more appropriate, or putting better optics on the sport.

They need to instead look to Dr's , cut-men and Dr. Stoppages. If someone is playing the game and hasn't started watching MMA yet, yeah... That's a huge omission.

The excuse that they didn't add Dr stoppages yet because there is no mini game the player has control over related to it doesn't fly with me either. The player shouldn't have control over the cut man. Maybe they can buy better ones in career mode, but get serious. I don't want a mini game to manually do the corner work. Immersion kill for sure.

MMA has minor and major injuries ( cuts) I think they drew it back to much though... definitely should be more cuts in the game.

I want more blood on the canvas instead of the fighters.

I agree, it's lacking. Would make the game a lot more visceral if blood was flying in the 5th round of a war. Would be nice to be able to open up a gash from bottom guard with elbows against someone trying to lay and pray also.

It seems EA is beholden to shareholders when it comes to this, and they don't really have a strong stomach for violence these days either. Look at Battlefield 1. You riddle someone with bullets, they fall over like a mannequin. Hit them with a tank shell, they fly cartoonishly through the air like Wile. E. Coyote in a Roadrunner cartoon.

The only EA property I can think of that got violence right was the first Dead Space.

Everything else feels pretty sterile and kid-friendly.

I've had a lot of fights were both fighters were completely covered in blood, broken noses and bad swelling. I do agree though that the mat itself isn't nearly as covered with blood after a 5 round war than it was in UFC 2. Pretty minor complaint from my side though.
