Still missing the point try that against a combo that ends in a close range head kick and you’ll be flat. But duck at the end and there flat that’s called a punish. It happens in games it happens in real life.

No one would ever duck a headkick at the end of a combo in real life.

That’s called death.

You’d have to block and either attack or create space before the combo ends

I want realistic punishes. But to each his own. Y

No one would throw a headkick at the end of a combo that put them in clinch range in the first place. And blocking in real life you could counter off of but in the game you can’t so that brings us full circle to my original point at close range you can be hit with head kicks and you don’t want there to be a punish.

You can grapple. You completely ignored that part. Not to mention they’d be at a stamina disadvantage so you’d be able to go on the offensive.

If I don’t want to grapple I shouldn’t have too just to avoid head kicks. I ignored it because it’s irrelevant to the point that you don’t want a strike countered and punished by using in an game defensive actions.

I’ll be perfectly clear here

I personally only care about the game because I love MMA. I want it to be as realistic as possible. Using ducks to beat head kicks is like throwing leg kicks to stop takedowns. It makes 0 sense from a realism perspective.

Now you’re clearly talking about what you consider gameplay balance. That’s a different story and less important than realism in my opinion. If you feel differently then it what it is.

I think your impression of real mma is off based Peter Sobatta ducked a head kick on Saturday’s card. And leg kicks timed early enough to a takedown attempt can counter them Edison barbosa has made a career out of that with the correct space between him and the opponent. I really do this MMA has been my sport since UFC 2 the event. Martial arts has been a life long passion and fighting games was been in my life since sf2. I play the games train in real life and study the sport like it’s brand new.
