Is it even possible to patch this game to prevent cheese?

This is not a knock on the game devs at all. It's something I've been wondering. If you consider the game mechanics, is it possible to even patch this game to avoid cheese?

When sways get patched, people spam combinations.
If combinations stamina get patched, people will just hold high block the entire time and fish for points.
When ground gets patched in either direction it seems to be a problem.
If footwork gets patched we will only see people spam lunges.

Is there a real fine balance that can be achieved without the player base taking advantage of it?

Post up top is correct some people are so desperate to win that they do anything for that W.

Sadly they will get rewarded once the LEC goes live.
