New Controls

So my buddys comes by for ufc and they play the game for the 1st time. One of them is so mad and frustrated with the controls he wont even play it.It was actually pretty dam funny.

So anyways after he calmed down he came up with this and seems alot easier.

XBOX Controller
X and Y would be jab & straight and hooks could be A and B uppercuts would be XA and YB Body Punches LT.

Kicks would be done by holding LB + with a button and RB would do all the fancy moves.

These fancy/spinning moves are whats causing the problem and nobody uses them

I personally dont really have a big problem with the controls but new players are losing there minds playing this game at the start.

I left out most of the kicks cause i believe the body teap should be easier to throw.I dont even know how to throw a teap is it LB+RB+LT+XA? maybe just LB +XA?

Would this be hard to add as a separate control layout?

Re: New Controls

If nothing else I think it would be fair to have custom input layouts.

Re: New Controls

Yeah, the control scheme can be daunting for beginners. I wish they had a customize menu for it.

edit: beat me to it!

What other options do we have tho?

The only one I could think of atm is switching the double input for uppercuts with L1/B + R1/b + punch or something like that.

I don't know but let me edit what I said before, get rid of ALL double button presses in this game. I couldn't fathom having to explain the control layout to anyone willing to play this game for the first time. My friends had no problem smashing each other in UFC 2 but this time around explaining to someone how to throw hooks and uppercuts is a nightmare lol.

It'd be hard at this stage I'd imagine, so many techniques are assigned there like teeps, front kicks, tornado kicks etc.

There would have to be some new input to replace it, I am struggling to think of any.

Re: New Controls

If you wanna get rid of 2 button uppercuts we need striking to be with the stick.I really dont know why grappling is with stick ur filling up a bar the buttons would work just fine?

Hitting buttons for striking takes less skill it would make combos so different

actually hitting some of these buttons is so hard might take more skill but nobody throws those crazy strikes/combos
