You can't just shoot for a takedown because someone is rocked. You have to make them miss a strike.

This only started to happen a lot after this last patch. The GA being removed from ducking down killed the single leg option in competitive online fights.

Pre patch that would have been an easy takedown on a rocked opponent from a specialist like Maia. After the patch it’s just an easy pre deny with no sense of any danger.

To me that needs to be automatic takedown, more so against someone like Maia. I’ve been asking for the single leg to be fixed since the game dropped. The double leg is the only thing that still works and it doesn’t even work that well unless your DC or someone that has high stats and the perk that helps with power takedowns.

I'm 100% on buffing takedowns, but please no auto takedowns after a rock. If he wants to drop his hands to deny, let him.

Timing for takedowns feel completely backwards. I just noticed it's easier to get takedown immediately after a blocked head kick rather than during a missed head kick...what sense does that make??? It wasn't even like that in UFC 2, so what made them change that?

That will happen if the denial hits the reversal window to give the other guy to opportunity to swoop to prevent it.
