Remove magnetic striking

Pretty sure it is the root of all the remaining problems with striking.

Re: Remove magnetic striking

Overhand is the most annoying magnetic punch in the game it covers a crazy distance and is so freaking deadly too. Magnetic combos are the real problem tho.

@ fresh baked Gregg ...I noticed that when you dodge a hook combo the second hook lands now ? Didn't notice this before anyone else notice this ?

Re: Remove magnetic striking

I swear it's the UFC 1 engine.

Magnetic strikes are identical in the UFC mobile app (which came out around the same time as UFC 1).

All the strikes landing, collision, damage etc are determined by specific mathematical equations and not by physics simulation.

The result is that if a strike mathematically was calculated to have landed, the animation kicks in regardless of player location having changed from when the calculation was triggered.

In UFC2, it seemed that strikes landed only if the fist/foot etc actually physically made contact with the target, making a much more fluid and dynamic game.
This is why UFC feels like a step backward in a lot of ways. It literally is.

I couldn't agree more with this.
