Anything being changed with the core mechanics of it though, the lack of fluidity is still an issue.

It was better than the mess of UD 2010, but it's in a whole different league when compared to EA UFC 3 (or 2).
I feel EA MMA grappling was far more complex than EA UFC, just the ability to strike high and low and block high and low from every position gave more options than we currently have. There was no predictable hold block and push a direction, you actually had to trick your opponent into a mistake to transition and you always had an option for opening something up. You also had to watch your head/body health and your stamina as losing any one of them allowed free transitions. I feel like I had about 8 strategic options from any position on the ground in ea mma and in ea ufc I feel like I have maybe two due to half the transitions having massive deny windows and most positions only offering one striking option. In EA MMA I could beat someoone while mounted by dodging their strikes and countering until they gassed and I could move into a sub. Now we just have a broken catch strike or a predictable block 3 strikes and transition.

Also with this non permanent GA gain for blocked strikes in the patch will we no longer be able to get out of mount? Because as far as I can tell blocking three strikes to get GA and then transitioning is currently the only way out.
