Also why do you guys always come into a thread and say something isn't, but don't actually say what it is.

Parrying is a part of hand fighting, as is head/wrist control, pawing, hand traps, block peel, etc.

Hand fighting is an extremely nebulous term that means different things to different people.

Like, hand fighting to me is only what's going on in that Lawler x MacDonald gif, whereas to you it seems to be anything that involves your hands that isn't punching.

If Hand fighting is just head/wrist control and hand traps etc...

By consequence hand fighting will also include parries, since you can parry into the clinch like UD3.

Genuinely not following you here. I consider hand fighting to be another term for hand checking/trapping, therefore I must think it means parrying because you can parry in the clinch?

What I am trying to say is you can use parries for the same function. As such it's another route to hand fight.

Parrying into the clinch like UD3.

What the poster Nugget above just wrote ^^.

"Hand-fighting is an extremely nebulous term that means different things to different people".

If you're a grappler and hear "Hand-fighting", you're thinking of something different.
If you're a MuayThai kickboxer and hear "Hand-fighting", you're thinking about something different.
If you're a boxer and hear "Hand-fighting".... well you get the point.

You can't just ask for "Hand-Fighting" without pin-pointing EXACTLY what it is you're asking for. So far you've asked for parries to be implemented and I don't agree with that. Not because I won't like parries, but because i'm very cautious of it. I'm even more cautious of any form of hand fighting being implemented striking-wise. It could EASILY get waaaaay out of hand.

What exactly are you asking for?

Hand-Fighting when it comes to JUST Kickboxing?

I'm not sure I'm following your logic. So, because I can use hand checking/trapping to get into the clinch, and I can also parry into the clinch, they're the same thing? Like, I'm not sure why you're lumping a whole bunch of different techniques together

Re: How to implement Hand fighting in UFC 4

The devs have mentioned they already have parries functional, they just removed it.

Parrying is a part of hand fighting. You can parry and obtain control. It's another entry to the same outcome.

Parrying needs to be without the free counter window and freeze. It should be mobile.

Otherwise you would have to get in wrist/head control, and things like dutch hand traps.

Parries facilitate the same and they did that function in UD3.
