Should strikes have more short term stamina effects?

What would you say if they made it so strikes did more temp stamina drain? The people who want gamey elements would be satisfied and I think a lot of people here would be satisfied. Then people would stop throwing like mad men. Maybe I’m wrong. Thoughts?

Tbh since the last tuner I think stamina is in a decent place.

I think Zombie mentioned making whiff strikes take even more stamina which i’d be happy for.

God no. That would limit creativity even more.

Do away with temporary stamina in its current form entirely if you ask me.

The way I have my sliders setup, stamina all the way to the minimum level burn off +3 or 4 ticks towards the right. Then stamina recovery off.

What ends up happening is temporary stamina is much more abundant, but there is no recovery between rounds, so towards the end of the 2nd or 3rd, you start to slow down a fair bit, even to the point that the fresher opponent gets the better of you.

With these settings, you have to be extra mindful in 5 round fights.

Granted it isn't that accurate with recovery off, but it lets me Vitor Belfort for a round and then get mullered in the next one should I fail.

On the default settings, I could Vitor Belfort the whole fight provided I wasn't missing too many shots and just stuck to boxing.

Re: Should strikes have more short term stamina effects?

I was thinking the other day that it would be interesting to see a big overhaul in the way stamina worked. This is what I had in mind:

Strikes do LESS short-term stamina tax, BUT the short-term stamina takes significantly longer to fill back up to max long-term stamina.

So basically you are free to throw more at any given time, but if you blow your short-term load, you gotta focus on letting that recover for a while before getting back into things full throttle.

Idk if this would be good for the game or not, just a thought I had the other day.

Short term, if anything, is already a bit much, especially for combos where you have to whiff a head kick, first.

My concern with that is that it would encourage spam. Why fight on the outside and potentially whiff some shots for a greater stamina penalty when you can take a step in a wail on their guard for less stamina loss.

It should be all strikes or none.
