Double unders against the cage is broken

If your back is against the cage, and you have your opponent in double unders, you can hold them there all day and deny all transitions by pressing the stick in one direction. Your opponent can transition left or right, but it doesn’t matter because they’re both the same transition, and you can deny both in one direction.

If you get trapped in double unders by an opponent whose back is to the cage, you can’t do anything. There’s no transition to separate; the transition to over/under is your only option. And you can’t even fake that transition. When your opponent denies it, they can just ragdoll you with GA.

And the worst part is that the transition INTO double unders (with your back to the cage) is the fastest transition in the clinch. It will beat your transition 100% of the time, and the window to deny is very difficult on reaction.

Can this get fixed? It’s pretty unrealistic that the most OP clinch position is with a fighters BACK TO THE CAGE. You can just sit there and deny everything with one direction. At least make it so you have to deny in two possible directions.

Re: Double unders against the cage is broken

I agree, the fighter with his back against the cage really doesnt have many disadvantages, we should be able to transition into a single or double leg from most positions ( i think this is totally doable and would be awesome). Overunder against the cage clinch should be sped up also, right now its useless.

With your back against the cage in overunder you can
Throw, get double unders, break, reverse position or go to single, thats five options.

While pressing against the cage your main options are throwing, break, double unders or single collar, four options.

As you described, double unders with your back against the cage is a bit op in terms of denial windows, esp if you land one denial and build up GA.
