Re: How will Michael Jackson be remembered?

work at a retail story and now everything Michael Jackson is selling out like insanity.

This lady came in looking for a MJ DVD. Her words were: I want to introduce the kids to him now.

Sad when people have waited this long to experience the best pop artist the world has ever know. I really think, he'll sell another couple of million albums before he's EVEN BURIED

I think most people would consider child sex abuse a pretty serious charge.

I think in time he'll be remembered for being one of, if the not the greatest entertainers of all time. That's how I will remember him. In the short turn people will remember how eccentric he was, but that will be forgotten in time.

I work at a record store and by the time I left today we were completely sold out of Michael Jackson albums, dvds, anything that was related to Jackson was sold out.

When did child molestation become "eccentric" behaviour?

Listen to the Bill Simmons BS Report. He talks about this and does a great job at it

Why is that different from Michael Jackson? MJ's career spanned 40+ years. Even before Thriller, you had Jackson 5, so a lot of people grew up on MJ when THEY were children. So even before MJ went through his changes, his legacy was just that strong before that.
Because he is Dead

I can't think of another reason though. But I don't think if OJ and Rose died, would people make him out to be such a hero like Mike was. But then again, music touches a wider range of folks than sports.
