Live update & freeze ups?

Howdy all...

I was playing NFL 2K5 last year when it became compatible with my X360. Great game. But then it started crashing when exiting games. You know how frustrating it can be to play an entire game (in franchise) and then the darn thing freezes up while "loading" back to the menu? Obviously all data was lost. This wasn't happening EVERY game but often enough that I gave up.

I just recently returned to NFL 2K5 (on 360) and noticed an update downloaded when I signed on to live. Furthermore, I've played about 7 games without a freezer (for a variety of teams--I'm playing a franchise wherein all teams are 'controlled' by a user).

My question is this...what was that update about and is it possible it addressed this type of freezing issue? Any one know?

it was a patch that fixes bugs in the game.... i doubt it's related to the freezing

really? why would they be patching a game from 2005 at this point?

It was probably an older patch (I just got live this summer and last week was the first time I tried to sign on with ESPN 2K5).

Also, it's been about a year since it was added to the backward compatibility list. It's possible they (MS in this case) might have found another tweak to improve that compatibility. Just guesses, of course.

yeah there's just one patch, but it still automatically DLs anytime you connect to XBL with an un-patched copy of the game

fixes some small glitches involving penalties & stat recording. the changes are listed in great detail in many dedicated "patch" threads started right here over the years
