Editing body types
There’s lots of variety and flexibility this year when it comes to weight and body types. Adding or subtracting a few pounds from a player can really make a difference in how he looks. But some of the body types need editing. Take the Titans: McNair needs a large body – they gave him normal. FB Pritchett should be large, not normal. WR’s Bennett and Hill should be normal, not skinny. There’s not too many skinny players that look good, IMO, so I’ve been changing most of them.
I run a play – handoff etc. – then use the replay to freeze at the point of the handoff and compare body types. A 200 pound HB should look 20 pounds lighter than the 220 pound QB, and if he doesn’t I adjust the body types and even add or subtract a few pound s until it looks right. And check out McNair at least – he just doesn’t quite look right until you give him a large body. Lots of players, and especially linemen, just need to be bumped up from normal to large, and in some cases from large to extra large.
