 Deciphering the chances of the 2022 Carolina Panthers  CAROLINA PANTHERS, NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE AUGUST 1, 2022 It’s a new season for the Carolina Panthers and one which has entailed a soft restart for a franchise looking for their first Super Bowl win after almost three decades in the league. In comes Baker Mayfield, a quarterback with a ton of potential who showed glimpses but never had the consistency to realise that potential in the quarterback graveyard of Cleveland. Chalk that one off folks, this is a new start. Carolina doesn’t have a poorly constructed roster. They have a pretty good duo of D.J. Moore and Robbie Anderson as the wide outs, Christian McCaffrey as the running back. Brian Burns is coming into his own as a defensive lineman and Jaycee Horn could turn into a dominant duo with Donte Jackson as the outside corners. Carolina recently signed free agent and former first round pick Jarrad Davis to main their inside linebacker position in their 4-3 defense. This team has the potential to reach the playoffs after a four-year drought. That potential starts and stops with how well Baker Mayfield plays with his new team.
