From High School to the NFL, the Career of Damien Clark

Hello everyone. I know what you are thinking, another Dynasty started by me. I know I haven't really done too much with my NFL/NCAA Dynasties, but that is because I kept trying to do too much with it. Stats for the teams and what not.

This time I am going to do a Dynasty with NCAA 2010 and then bring my guy into the NFL Draft (Madden 2010). This is going to help keep me more interested and I know will not need to have so many stats.

Time to meet Damien Clark:

Damien is a Senior at Plum Senior High School in Pittsburgh, PA. He is a starting wide receiver for the team and is also one of the Team Captains. In his 3 years of playing Varsity (started JV his Freshman year), he has become the leading receiver for the school as a WR.

The Mustangs have always had up and down years, and have never claimed a State Championship. This has been Clark's goal since day 1 of football camp. This year, they will have that chance. They won their Section with a 12-0 record (8-0 in the conference). Now they are entering the State Championship tournament and are looking to do what no team has done in Plum before.

Damien Clark
WR
#83
Height - 6'3"
Weight - 215 pounds
Good speed, great blocker, great hands.
His inspiration is Heath Miller of the Steelers, as that is his home town NFL Team.
Top Colleges: Pitt and Ohio State (to beat up on PSU every year)

What I plan to do is play each of the playoff games and then update his stats for receiving. I will also include the scores of the games and the schools that were scouting.

Once I get to college, I will go for the best offer from Pitt or OSU, or take an offer from any other school that has been scouting me.

College stats will be the same.. pretty much have a little story about his time in school and have a story line about life at school.

Then it will be the draft for NFL. I will probably stay all 4 years, unless I feel that I can go pro early.

I should be starting this week sometime. And I hope to have updates at least on a weekly basis for games with other stories placed here and there.

Good luck. I will check in and see how you do. I have never personally done a Road to Glory type deal, and stick to teams either favorite or crappy, but always love a good read.

I have done a few.. but usually don't get too far, as I usually go to a bad team for college. I have done a few Pro ones and have stuck with them for 5 seasons, mainly because I had fun being on a different team and trying to get to the SB.

Will have my first game post up tonight. I played it last night and had a pretty good game. 4 catches for 82 yards, 1 td, thrown to 6 times and helped open up a lot of holes for the other receivers and running backs. There will be a more detailed post coming later tonight with the rest of the information.

Damien's Thoughts

Wow, here it is. The day I have been waiting for all 4 years of High School. We are finally playing in the State Playoffs. Last year was great except we didn't get into the State Playoffs after losing to Mt. Lebanon in the WPIAL Finals.

This year though, we made up for that and beat a very talented Bethel Park team for our first Championship since 1984.

Tomorrow will be game day, but for now, I get to relax as much as possible before playing against Scott Township. They have a pretty good corner, who will probably be covering me, but I think that I should be able to get open for a few plays. I just hope that Ron Smarlo will look my way.

Time to go study the play book so that I am ready. We have to be at the school by 9 am to travel the 2 hours and get ready. Game isn't until 7pm, but we are going to get up there and watch the game that is before ours, at least the first half.

Re: From High School to the NFL, the Career of Damien Clark

Game 1 of the P.I.A.A State Playoffs
Dom Martucci, Mustang Gazzette

In the Plum Mustangs first game of the State Playoffs, they proved they are a force this year. They routed Scott Township by a score of 62-0. What a great win for the team.

It started off great for the Mustangs. A touchdown drive on their first possession to give them a 7-0 lead and then forced a 3 and out. It was at this point the Damien Clark got into the open field and caught a 54 yard touchdown pass.

After the first quarter of the game, the Stangs were up 21-0 and didn't let up. At halftime it was a 42-0 lead. In the second half, the team focused more on running the ball and Clark was all over the place. He was able to get out there and make a few key blocks on some of runs. Twice he flattened the defender who was on him and allowed David McKee to get the first down and a touchdown.

Entering the 4th quarter, Coach Jon Malurkey decided that the starters had enough and took them out of the game. The game ended after 62 points were scored by Plum.

Clark ended the game with 4 catches for 82 yards and a touchdown. He was targetted 6 times and the 2 that ended up as incompletions were from being overthrown out of bounds.

Next week Plum will have to face another Pittsburgh Team, South Park.

Re: From High School to the NFL, the Career of Damien Clark

Damien's Thoughts

What a game we had. 62 points scored and our defense didn't allow them to get a field goal. We really showed that we are a great team, but Scott Township really isn't in the same league as we are. I didn't have a bad game either. Ron looked my way 6 times which is pretty good. He was spreading the ball around as they knew that they needed to cover me.

The best thing about this game was my receiving touchdown. I can't believe that I got one. I only had 2 touchdowns in the W.P.I.A.L Playoffs and that was in the first game.

I found out that there were 6 teams there scouting me. Only bad thing was that Pitt and Ohio State didn't come to the game. I know they are pretty set with Receivers, but I would really like to stay close if it is possible. The teams that came were TCU, Northwestern, Marshall, Mississippi State, Central Michigan, and Tulane.

Out of those 6 teams, TCU is the best one, but that is really far from my family. I do have family in Texas, but I want my parents to be able to see me play. Marshall isn't that bad, but they aren't really competing for a shot at a BCS Game.

This week we have to play South Park. We didn't see them at all in the Playoffs or regular season, but they are a pretty good team. Their corners and safeties aren't as good as Scott Townships, but they will probably try to keep me in check at the line.

Coach Marlurkey did tell me that Iowa, Ole Miss, Illinois, Middle Tennessee State, Bowling Green and Fresno State have asked him about me and should be at the game. None that are really close to home, but Iowa is a great school for football.

Only 6 more days until we play again. I know tomorrow will be film study, but I am studying the film that my dad took for me of the South Park game. I will be back after the game Saturday. Wish me luck.
