A Coaching Prodigy: Blake Alexander (NCAA Football 12)

As a young boy in Dierks, Arkansas, Blake Alexander always loved the game of football. His dad, being a football coach, had taught him the game from the time he could walk. The game came much easier to him than most other kids his age. When most other kids were learning to ride books, Blake was learning to read defenses.

As a high school standout Blake led his high school team to state championships in both his sophomore and junior seasons. Going into his senior season, Blake was being heavily recruited by the top colleges.

But one Friday night in November, that all came to an end. Blake was involved in a head-on collision in while driving after the game. He suffered a severe injury to his left shoulder, his throwing arm. He was never able to throw a ball again.

Blake had too much love for the game to just let it go so he decided to become a football coach like his old man. He earned his degree in Physical Education at the University of Arkansas. Blake got a head coaching job at a 2A school, the Murfreesburo Rattlers.

Blake worked his way up the coaching ranks and won 5 state championships as a high school coach in 9 seasons. Arkansas State recently hired him as their offensive coordinator at the age of 30. And so the story goes.....

Dynasty Info:

Offensive Playbook: Oregon

Defensive Playbook: 4-3

Difficulty: All-American with SECElite's sliders

Qtr. Length: 7 Minutes

Notes: I have realigned the Big 12 Conference. Arkansas St. and BYU have joined the conference so that there will be a Championship Game. Have also tinkered with the BCS Tie-Ins. MWC gets an automatic bid while other conferences have to play in certain bowls.

Game Notes
This is the first game for both of these teams as they kick off the 2011 season on opening weekend. This will be Arkansas State's first game as part of the Big 12 conference. The Red Wolves will be facing a familiar foe in UL Monroe. UL Monroe is in the Sun Belt conference, which Arkansas State departed in the off-season. Look for an exciting game as Arkansas State has brought in a new offensive coordinator in Blake Alexander. It will interesting to see his new spread offense look he is bringing to the Red Wolves.

Coaches Comments - I'm definitely pleased with the way we moved the ball today. We got into their redzone six times, but was only able to convert one into a touchdown. We have to find a way to punch that thing in. It seems like a good start for our offense. We just have to find a way to get the ground game going. That is what really killed us when we got closer to the goal line. Ryan Applin sustained a minor injury and we don't know if he will be able to go next week yet or not. We will deal with that later in the week.
