Who Let the Dogs Out | Binghamton Bulldogs (M10)

In the offseason before the start of the 2007-08 season, the NFL made a huge announcement. The Cleveland Browns were ceasing operations. Everyone knows how horrendously bad that team is, and that's what led to the closing. In place of the Browns would be a team from a rather small city in New York. The new team was the Binghamton Bulldogs. The Bulldogs' roster was composed of local athletes, including Binghamton University, Elmira College, Ithaca College and Cortland College graduates. The team will get the same schedule that the Browns would've had. They are already gaining a massive fanbase due to them being the "underdogs".

Binghamton Bulldogs Breakdown

Offense

Starting quarterback will lead the new Bulldogs. Behind him is a future star in HB Dominic Davis. Henry also has options in the passing game, including Jordan Walker and Donte Mayo. He has another threat in TE Rich Rutherford. The front line seems to be strong, hopefully enough to keep the defense off of their QB.

Defense

MLB Harry Johnson is an intimidating player who will lead the Bulldog defense. DT Riley Biggins is strong enough to break through the line, so hopefully he will make use of that talent. The Bulldogs have a future superstar at corner by the name of Harlee Estepp. Harlee can outrun the receivers and come down with the pick sometimes. FS Justin Monroe will be the last line of defense and not let anyone by him.

Keys to Victory

Offense
-O Line MUST protect Henry
-Running game must be productive to relieve the passing game
-WR's Walker & Mayo have to be able to catch the ball
-Keep turnovers to a minimum

Defense
-DT Biggins has to get into the backfield and interrupt the play.
-The CB's can't let the deep throws be completed
-Force FG's, don't let the offense score touchdowns

Re: Who Let the Dogs Out | Binghamton Bulldogs (M10)

Shootout in Binghamton

In the Bulldog's first ever game, they ALMOST pulled off A victory. Here is the game summary:

On the Vikings first drive, CB Harlee Estepp missed a tackle on superhuman Adrian Peterson, who then proceeded to run 72 yards for a Viking touchdown. Later in the quarter, Bulldog Kicker Boar Michaels scored the first points in team history with a 24-yd field goal. In what appeared to be the first touchdown in 'Dog history, DT Riley Biggins forced AP to fumble, which was then recovered by MLB Harry Johnson. Johnson ran 34 yards for the touchdown! But wait, the Vikes challenge! The refs confirm that AP's knee was down before the ball came out.

In the second quarter, Dalton Henry threw a pick from the Vikings' 5 yard line to Chad Greenway. Greenway couldn't get anywhere and was down at the one. The 'Dogs forced a 3 & out. They make it back to within their ten yard marker. Binghamton ran a Wildcat play on which Dominic Davis missed a pitch to Gino WIley and it was caught by a Minnesota D-lineman. He ran to the 'Dogs 8 yard line, and Peterson scored the next play. Harlee Estepp went crazy on kick returns this game. On this return, he ran 51 yards to their opponent's 40. Unfortunately, Henry was hit while throwing the ball and threw another INT. This time to D-Lineman Kevin Williams, who chugged his way 30 yards for a return. Henry led the Bulldogs on a drive at the end of the half that ended at the Vike's 8. Almost scored.

In the 3rd quarter of the game, Henry threw another pick, this time to EJ Henderson. However, the ball would come right back to Binghamton when MLB Harry ****in' Johnson intercepted Tarvaris Jackson. In the same drive, Dalton Henry was flushed out of the pocket, and ran 13 yards, breaking an attempted tackle by Antoine Winfield, and scoring a touchdown! On Minnesota's next drive, Jackson threw a pass to AP for a 15 yard touchdown. Next drive for Binghamton, Henry LAUNCHED a pass to the endzone, 50 yards away. He was hit, so it was wild. Winfield came down with it. Also, Henry was hurt. He had a strained shoulder but came back the next drive.

The Bulldogs forced Minn. to kick a field goal from 31 yards out. However, somehow the kicker missed it. The luck wouldn't last as Henry threw his 5th interception of the game. The Vikes could take advantage and the 'Dogs succeeded with a goal line stand. The Bulldogs made their way back down the field and Henry connected with HB Davis for a 15 yard touchdown to ignite a comeback! Minn. missed a 52 yard FG, and the 'Dogs took advantage. Henry met Jordan Walker with a 54 yard completion! He then hit TE Rich Rutherford for 8 yards. He made another pass, this time to FB Bryce Jammer for a 2-yd score! The Bulldogs are down by ONE! On the next kickoff, Parcy Harvin razzled and dazzled all the way down the field for a touchdown! But wait! Bernard Berrian was called for clipping! Binghamton held the Vikes to a 4 & inches with the game on the line. Jackson pitched a AP who was able to get the nose of the ball on the other side of the first-down marker. And that's all she wrote. Great, great game.

Re: Who Let the Dogs Out | Binghamton Bulldogs (M10)

Heartbreak at Mile High

The first quarter was back and forth for the most part, until Kyle Orton hit Brandon Stokley for a 39 yard touchdown. At the end of the quarter, the Bulldogs held the Broncos from scoring within the 10, and forced a field goal.

The second quarter started with a missed field goal by Denver. Binghamtn drove down the field. QB Dalton Henry threw a bullet from the 8 to Rich Rutherford, but he tipped it, in which the ball landed in the hands of Jeremy Goolsby for the touchdown. Henry got pounded on this play, and was shaken up. After Denver made a 48-yard FG, Henry threw an INT to Brian Dawkins, who returned it for a TD. At the end of the half, Henry connected with Rutherford for a 5 yard touchdown. Score: 30-21 Broncos

Denver made ANOTHER field goal. On the 'Dogs next drive, the Broncos forced a 4th and 4 from the 50. It was a fake punt, and FB Bryce Jammer chugged 9 yards for a first down. On the same drive, Henry was flushed out of the pocket and lofted the ball to Jammer for a short touchdown to make it a 1 point game! The Broncos coudn't get anywhere next drive, and Kyle Orton threw a pick to Harlee Estepp! He returned it to Bronco 14. Henry threw it to Rutherford for the touchdown, and the lead!

Knowshawn Moreno ran in 5 yards for a new Bronco lead. Bulldogs made their way to Bronco 25, but they couldn't convert a 4th down attempt. However, the 'Dogs held them, in which Harlee Estepp clobbered Moreno behind the line on 3rd and 13. Binghamton gets the ball back. Now they are at their own 24 and have to go the length of the field to win. Henry ran 15 yards and out of bounds. He connected with Dominic Davis for 14 yards. He hit Davis again for 5 yards. Henry calls his own number and runs for the first down! But wait! The Broncos challenge, and he was short! 14 seconds and 4th and inches from the Denver 21. Henry throws quick pass to Bryce Jammer, but the dropped it. Game over. ****.
