No Place Like Home pt. 1
Jags Owner Shad Kahn explains frantic off-season for franchise

Above: Tebow and Gaffney headline the free agent signings by Jacksonville as the revolution begins

JAX, Fla - Trying to put into words, what the NFL world has witnessed is probably the hardest part as explaining how, why, where or what happened in the past 6-8 weeks in Jacksonville is somewhat terrifying.

Owner Shahid Kahn and General Manager David Caldwell told me before all this took place that their intention was to put "Jacksonville into the hearts of Florida" a task easier said than done. It left me questioning their motives and next move, however those were all answered pretty swiftly as business got done!

As GM Caldwell said "It is a case of us using what we have to bring back players and bring in players that have ties to either Jacksonville or Florida. We will endeavor to bring in players that our fans and fans of the NFL in Florida can relate to, to make the Jags their team"

That statement rang true pretty quickly as 5 free agents who all played College in Florida signed up. The most notable and perhaps controversial was the addition of Tim Tebow. Tebow was touted to be a part of the Jaguars when he first arrived in the NFL, however that never came to fruition and after a few journeyed years in the league, the Jags have now taken that chance.

Alongside Tebow, Kenny Phillips, Jabar Gaffney, Chas Henry and Markus White also inked 1 year deals to become a part of the Jacksonville movement. These deals came through pretty quickly and were just the start of a huge shift in talent through the Jags roster.

No Place Like Home pt. 2
A frenetic conclusion; Jags deal, deal and deal again

Above: Jones-Drew is no more; Jags fans will get used to seeing MJD in the Red and Gold of San Francisco

JAX, Fla - "We had to make moves, it wasn't a case of being conservative, we had a list of targets and to get them we had to be the ones ready to make the deal" explained Caldwell (Jaguars GM).

It certainly felt like that at times, especially for the more conservative fans of the team who had been through the rough of recent. Many argued that the team had spent its future in return just for the hype of having a 'Florida' team, others said, well its not Jacksonville anymore its the Florida Jaguars.

However you viewed it, there was no turning back, Kahn had placed this objective into his team and the marketing mantra was there for all to see, this Jaguar team was about to have its 'Homecoming'.

So at what cost did the Jaguars change things up? Well arguably most importantly 10 draft picks have disappeared off the teams place, combining both 2014 and 2015. Infact the Jags just have picks 6 & 7 left in each year.

Anything else? Well Jones- Drew is not a Jag anymore, Linebacker Posluszny will also wear another teams jersey this season, whilst others including Cecil Shorts, Blackmon and Mercedes Lewis also all left as the Jaguars saw more trades than the floor of the NYSE.

Jones Drew later tweeted "I knew about the plans, I thought id be a part of those plans, but they appear to be serious... maybe too serious about this Florida gig. Its been good Jags fans, but im now a #49er"

Above: How about Gore? Frank Gore is the stud acquisition in the MJD trade

So who came in, the Jaguars made alot of upgrades, especially in offense with Frank Gore coming into Jacksonville alongside Anquan Boldin in the Jones Drew trade.

Kellen Winslow is the teams new Tight End, whilst Devin Hester and Santana Moss add to one of the strongest receiving corps now in the league. Bryant McKinnie was the lone addition to the offensive line.

On defense, Vilma and Sims come into a new looking Linebacker corps, whilst Robinson also moved from New Orleans in the deal that bought Vilma over. Darnell Dockett was the other big addition from Arizona to strengthen the defensive line.

Caldwell stated "It has been hectic, we have moved everything we could to achieve this... its not complete, but the vision has started. I hope that Jaguar fans will understand and see that we do mean business and we will make this team, their team for now and in future"

It has been an interesting off-season for the NFL, its a big gamble, one that could pay off but in all honesty it is one worth taking for the Jacksonville franchise that needs a lift and a kick in the right direction.

Re: Homecoming :: Jacksonville Jaguars (Madden 25)

Game 1: vs Kansas City Chiefs (0-0)

Jaguars Pounce Late to Topple Chiefs
A pair of late Touchdowns help the Jags overcome a resilient Kansas City

Above: Winslow with the key catch to evade the defense and bring home the rock

JAX, Fla - Tebow arrived and Tebow conquered, thats what it will feel like to the Jaguar fans who saw their new Quarterback lead them to a 4th quarter comeback win, after what was a miserable opening 3.

Both the Chiefs and the Jaguars mis-fired pretty badly throughout the opening phases of the game, with only field goals to show for their efforts as Kansas City led 9-6 going into the final quarter.

However this is when Tebow stepped up.. with a little help from the defense. Firstly Robinson would pick off Smith, the first of 3 Jaguar picks in the quarter as Tebow would get solid field position. Then with a drive that almost ground to a halt, it would be the footwork of Frank Gore that got the Jaguars on the board and into the lead with a stretched run into the corner.

Alex Smith attempted to rally the Chiefs, but further picks thrown to Ball and McCray put a stop to any real effort in the Jaguars redzone. However it wasnt until the final 2 minutes that the Jaguars finally clinched the win, as Tebow found Winslow in solo coverage down the middle of the field. Winslow would snag the ball and spin past his defender to race in for the decisive score.

Its not the perfect performance, but it is the perfect result for the Jaguars who will also note solid contributions from new Linebacker duo Sims and Vilma who combined for over 13 tackles.

On The Mic:
Gus Bradley "We did our jobs, we did them well. It was a slow start, but we kept the Chiefs quiet and knew that if we rallied, that we could come up with some big plays. Thankfully we got those plays and as a team we can look forward after this win"

Re: Homecoming :: Jacksonville Jaguars (Madden 25)

Game 2: @ Oakland Raiders (0-1)

Defense Wins Out; Jaguars Endzone Intact
Oakland unable to come out of slump, Jaguars go 2-0 with fine road win

Above: Team spirit is high and its good to be a Jaguar as they remain undefeated through 2

OAK, Cal - 2 games done and the Jaguars are perfect, not just 2-0 but also having yet to allow a Touchdown against, as both the Raiders and Chiefs could only muster field goals against a surprisingly tough Jacksonville defense.

With points not being chalked up against them, it allowed the Jags offense to do their thing and they did just that, scoring all 24 of their points in the first half, with Tebow connecting with Winslow again for a score.

Tebow did struggle in the 2nd half, with Charles Woodson having a huge game collecting a pair of interceptions to add to his 10 tackles. But although the Jags failed to score in the 3rd and 4th quarters, Oakland only added a pair of field goals to their scoreline.

Ernie Sims again impressed, collecting a pair of sacks on Pryor as Oakland had Quarterback issues of their own. Whilst McFadden continued to struggle for the Raiders, leaving his future with the team and possibly the NFL up in the air in his contract year.

On the Mic:
Ernie Sims (Jaguars): "We came up big again, we are just doing the simple things the right way and at the right time. There are some experienced guys out there and also alot of hungry guys, we have the right mix to be able to prove to teams that we are not an easy win anymore"
