ESPN BREAKING NEWS

NEW LONDON, CT:Breaking news out of New London, CT today. Due to the Temple Owls being unable to fund their football program, the school has decided to drop the sport. Replacing the Owls will be the Coast Guard Bears, who will make the leap to 1A football from Division III.

Coinciding with the jump to Division 1A football, the Bears also announced plans for a new multi-million dollar stadium. The Coast Guard Academy will be building a new on-campus stadium that will seat 30,000 spectators. The new stadium will be named "Munro Stadium" to commemorate Douglas A. Munro. Munro was one of the most famous members in the history of the United States Coast Guard, as he was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions during the Guadalcanal Campaign during WW2.

The athletic director of the Coast Guard Academy also announced the team plans on hiring a new coach to see over the transition to Division 1 football. The announcement will be made in the coming weeks.

ESPN BREAKING NEWS: FORMER GATORS LEGEND WUERFFEL TO TAKE OVER AT THE COAST GUARD ACADEMY

New London, CT: The athletic director of the Coast Guard Academy announced today that former Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel will be the new head coach at the Coast Guard Academy.

Wuerffel played for the University of Florida from 1993-1996, and he had one of the most successful college careers of any player ever. Wuerffel was a part of four teams that won the SEC Championship. He also won the national championship and the Heisman Trophy in the 1996 season.

After a disappointing professional stint, Wuerffel said he was itching to get back into the game. "I know we have a tall task ahead of us, but I am going to work endlessly to build a winning program at the Coast Guard Academy. It was an honor to be awarded this position, and it is time to get to work."

Coast Guard athletic director said: "we are absolutely thrilled to bring Danny into the fold. Sure he has no coaching experience, but the guy is just a winner. He has such a great football mindset, especially on the offensive side of the ball. We're going to be patient with Danny and we have full faith that he is the right guy for our program going forwards."
