Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)
GAME RECAP
Spoiler
Florida State continues its win streak as they continue their win streak in must win game situations. The weather wasnt pretty, and after the first two Seminole drives the Seminoles wasnt very pretty either. The Noles stuck hard and fast the first two series with Jamar Reid erupting after missing last weeks game due to a hamstring injury. After the Noles jumped out on top quickly in the 1st quarter, the game slowed down tremendously. The game never seemed in doubt, but Wake Forest played one heck of a football game. The Good Florida State won. Thats the best you can hope for the later the season goes. FSU has two must win games left on the schedule. Syracuse next week, and Clemson at home in two weeks. QB Sarderrious Minter continues his magical season yet again. However, Duke did one hell of a job on containing him as much as possible and making him a passer. Wake Forest kept him to a season low 48 yards rushing. However, Wake Forest dared him to pass, and he did just that. Minter finished the game 19/32 402 yards and 2 TDs and 2 Int on the night. Minter obviously has a stranglehold on the Heisman Trophy race currently and this game did not hurt his stock at all. WR Jamar Reid , came back with vengeance after missing last weeks game due to injury. He finished the night with 4 catches 147 yards and 2 TDs. The Bad FSU Played a lot better in the run game vs Wake Forest, but Anthony Melton was extremely surgical tonight and posted the highest completion percentage given up by FSU this season. Melton completed 76% of this passes, going 19/25 261 yards with 1 TD. Replacements following suspensions Due to starters CB Detaro Levine, and LB Sapomo Onwtagwu being suspended this week, there were questions on how the defense would fare after the two players have played such a significant role for the FSU defense. First off, LB Rashad McCullough led the team in tackles with 14 after moving from Bandit to Mike. He was all over the field and seemed to be in every play. Since McCullough moved from Bandit, that left an open spot. LB Taylor Covington got the start at Bandit as a True Freshman, and played well. However, veteran LB Akeem Austin played lights out. And as the game went on, Austin cemented himself there for the time being. Austin has been playing all 3 LB spots this year as well as DE. Being a veteran that has played in this Defense at his stint at Georgia Tech with Coach Verner, its obvious FSU trusts him at many places. And he excelled yesterday playing the Bandit spot. At corner, Freshman CB Jerrell Horn played lights out. He was rarely targeted in the game and only gave up one reception all game. There were questions if he was ready at such short notice but he proved he was. And he had one heck of a game replacing Detaro Levine. BOX SCORE

Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)
BYE WEEK The Seminoles have arrived at their final bye week of the season. And it comes as the Noles face probably the toughest and most important stretch of the season. The Noles have 3 conference games remaining. And in order to punch a ticket into the ACC Championship game in December. First and foremost, the Noles must win out. Secondly, Clemson must lose atleast two games for the Seminoles to advance. One of which, must be to FSU. Clemson, 4 remaining ACC games left. Their toughest games? #18 FSU, and #23 NC State, both on the road. They also face Wake and Syracuse. So needless to say, FSU must win out, but they need a little help even if they do. The Coastal Divsion is all but wrapped up with West Virginia leading their own destiny. REMAINING SCHEDULE FSU has four games left in the season, 3 in conference. All 3 conference games will be tough sledding, including the finale vs Florida at home. The good news? After Syracuse next week(If they can pull out the victory), the rest of FSU's games will be at home, and home field advantage will be pivotal. TEAM LEADERS Here are the current team leaders going into the last bye week of the season for FSU. FSU has several players in the top statistical rankings src="https://i.imgur.com/Wcv6sJD.jpg?1" title="source: imgur.com" /> HEISMAN RACE Freshman QB Sarderrious Minter still leads the Heisman Race with his performance last week vs Wake Forest. TOP 25 The first playoff rankings will be revealed next weekend. Here is the last AP TOP 25 POLL of the 2029 season FSU Moves up one spot to #18 RECRUITING After the win last week vs Wake Forest, FSU got a huge committment from a target at a position of need. Four-Star Linebacker Rasheed Bryant committed to the Seminoles. The Noles are very thing at Mike linebacker and FSU needed atleast one badly in this class. And with the uncertainty of suspended Sophmore LB Sapomo Onwtagwu, the position is even more dire. MLB Rasheed Bryant 6’3” 235 Manassas, VA #8 MLB, #188 Overall Committed Prospects MLB Rasheed Bryant 6’3” 235 Manassas, VA CB Ja’Carius Kidd 6’2 210 Ft. Meyers , FL DT David McNeil-Days 6’5” 345 Ravenna, OH WR Chris Brown 6’4” 212 Okeechobeee, FL OLB Rashaun Britton 6’5” 230 Poteau, OK S Jonathan Stephens DE Terrence Manson 6’5” 260 Brent, FL ATH Luron Dixon 6'1" 180 Toccoa, GA S Jose Rodriguez 6’0” 211 Boca Raton, FL TE Oliver Whitehead 6’3” 252 Monroe, LA WR Sytavious Graham 5’6” 183 Belle Glade, FL QB B.J. Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)
UP NEXT: SYRACUSE(4-4) ESPN ACC Network 3:30 PM/ET Syracuse may be out of the ACC picture with last weeks loss to Louisville. However, they are still fighting to be bowl eligible. A loss this week would definitely make that a lot more difficult. They must win atleast two of their last four games to accomplish that feat. However, 3 of those games comes from ranked teams, FSU, Clemson and NC State. But, at 4-4, Syrcause boasts a ton of talent. And they defintely have the talent to complete the task at hand. Key Matchups QB Matt Smart has had an up and down season for the Orange. The Redshirt Sophmore is completing 55.8% of his passes for 1,462 yards and 7 TDs but with 9 Ints. The strength of the offense comes from RB Lamar Byrd (6'0" 205) who is averaging 5.5 yards per carry on the year. He has 103 carries for 565 yards and 8 Touchdowns for the Orange. While FSU has gotten better defending the run as the year has passed, it still seems to be a weakness for the Seminoles. Stopping Byrd will be key to success this game. WR Jacob Herron has been Matt Smart's favorite target so far this year. Smart has 43 catches on the year for 712 yards which puts him in the top 10 in both categories in the ACC. Now, heres the tricky part. While Syracuse's offense has had its fair share of struggles, it's defense has not. It is led by two outstanding Defensive Ends. SR Alex Matthews 6'5" 275 and JR Bryan Brizzi (6'7" 260) have really gave a lot of defenses fits this year. On the backend, Syracuse depends on Senior CB Eric Little (6'1" 200), as he has 9 PBUs and 3 Ints on the year. Syracuse Stat Leaders ***BREAKING NEWS*** FSU will travel to Syracuse this week without second leading WR Kennard Thomas. Thomas suffered a broken hand during practice, and is expected to be out 4-5 weeks. This is a major blow with the schedule FSU has in the coming weeks. INJURIES DE Cameron Landrum Season Ending WR Kennard Thomas Broken Hand - 4 to 5 weeks SUSPENSIONS LB Buster Burke 1 Week LB Sapomo Onwtagwu Season Marching Chiefs set to travel With this being the final road game of the year, the Marching Chiefs of Florida State will travel to Syracuse, NY as the team will take on the Orangemen. The Chiefs have not traveled to any road games this season. BIG GAME AT STAKE #11 CLEMSON AT # 22 NC STATE 3:30 PM/ET ABC This game has huge implications for Florida State. Florida State needs Clemson to lose one of its remaining three Conference games including one to them, in order to be able to move on to the ACC Championship game. Clemson was able to beat Wake Forest last week 42-17. And Clemson now looks to take care of a scrappy NC State team who also needs this win to remain in the hunt for the ACC Championship. Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)
GAME RECAP
Spoiler
What an array of emotions this game displayed. Florida State with its ACC Championship hopes alive, squandered a 35-14 lead in the game, only to walk away with the 49-44 victory. This game was the epitome of a rollercoaster. FSU's defense looked very good at one point and another they couldnt really stop a nosebleed. However, the one takeaway from the game is this, they found a way to win. And thats what matters right? FSU is now 2 wins and 1 Clemson loss away from being able to face West Virginia who sowed up the Coastal Division title today. The Good The run game finally showed signs of life today on the road. Kartrelle Gaither ran for 118 yards, and Minter ran for 166. The Noles ran for a season high 335 yards on the ground. And quite frankly, the run game is what sealed the game for the Seminoles late in the game. Freshman RB Kartrelle Gaither had a breakout game. Everyone knew out of High School he was one of the best receiving running backs in the class. Especially at his size. He put that on display today with 6 catches 108 yards and 1 TD. And on the ground he added 11 carries for 56 yards also. The former Five-Star recruit had his fair share of struggles early in the year, but he has really come on strong as of late. Another Freshman, CB Isaac Boles had his first multi interception game of the season, including one that went for a Touchdown. The former Five-Star out of Milwaukee has played a strong and pivotal role all season long. And he came up big today with two interceptions of the Syracuse Orange. The Bad So much can be said about the defense especially in the second half. Florida state had a multitude of breakdowns and collapses in coverage and in the run game giving up big play after big play to keep Syracuse within striking distance of making a comeback that would have completely altered the season. One of the few bright spots however was the play of Rashad McCullough at Mike Linebacker. with the suspension of Sapomo Onwtagwu, he has really stepped up and is finally living up to his Five-Star billing out of high school as he was on the cusp of being considered a Five-Star bust after his initial stint at Georgia Tech before transferring. BOX SCORE
Spoiler
OTHER FSU RELATED NEWS #11 Clemson barely squeaked out a win vs #22 NC State tonight winning 27-26. Which means Clemson is 1 win in the ACC away from claiming the ACC Atlantic title, which would put them in the ACC championship vs West Virginia. Clemson has two remaining ACC games left, vs Syracuse next week and then against Florida State the following week. If Clemson can beat Syracuse they are in. FRESHMAN SARDERRIOUS MINTER SETS SCHOOL RECORD Freshman QB Sarderrious Minter has set a school record by becoming the first 1,000 rushing Quarterback in school history. And He will most certainly be the first 3,000 yard passing and 1,000 rusher in school history also. Currently on the season Minter has 2,861 yards passing and 1,093 yards rushing with three games remaining in the regular season. Last edited by 0rangez4u; 09-04-2019 at 03:00 PM. |

Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)
UP NEXT: NC STATE (6-3) ESPN ON ABC 8:00PM/ET The Noles get their first Primetime night game since playing Miami in early October. And this one is a good one. The Noles play NC State and this definately has not only ACC implications, but quite possibly New Years 6 bowl implications also. The Noles have remaining games vs two ranked opponents after NC State if they can pull off the victory. #9 Clemson and #11 Florida. So this one has many implications on it. With this game also being a Primetime game, Clemson plays host to Syracuse at 12:00 PM/ET on the ACC Network. If Clemson wins, they are Atlatic Champions and will face West Virginia in the ACC Championship. If they lose, then the Florida State vs Clemson game will have that much more fire to it. The way Clemson has been playing, we highly doubt that will be the case. But anything can happen. Nonetheless, FSU will know well before hand the challenge before their Primetime kickoff. I'm sure the coaches will be glued to the scores during that game. Key Matchups The Wolfpack is led by Redshirt Senior QB Jacque Jean-Baptiste. So far on the year he has played pretty much mistake free football. Throwing for 2247 yards, with 23 TDs and only 5 Ints. He also has chipped in 504 yards rushing on the ground. The Dual Threat QB from Ft. Pierce, FL has been giving teams issues all year long. Last week vs Clemson he threw for 277 yards, and ran for another 89 yards. True Freshman RB Babatunde Clark gives the Wolfpack and added punch in the run game as he leads the Wolfpack in rushing averaging 5.7 yards on the ground. Vs Clemson last week he had a career high 187 yards rushing on the ground. On Defense the Wolfpack is lead by Junior LB Reggie Moore, Jr. He's the team leader in tackles currently and is a very rangy , sideline to sideline player. Potential early round draft pick Junior CB Frank Fowlkes could have possibly played himself into a first round grade with his play this season. Prior to the year, he was projected as a 2nd or 3rd rounder. But he has been playing lights out all year and he will likely be matched up vs WR Jamar Reid. CONFERENCE STANDINGS INJURIES DE Cameron Landrum Season Ending WR Kennard Thomas Broken Hand - 3 to 4 weeks. Suspensions LB Sapomo Onwtagwu Season RECRUITING Four-Star WR Tso Cyrus has committed to Florida State. That gives FSU one of the highest WR classes in the country. The only remaining target left for FSU is Five-Star Orbit Jackson. If the Noles do not land Jackson, they are done at WR for this cycle. WR Tso Cyrus 6’4” 207 Morton, MS #18 WR , #94 Overall Commited to: Florida State **BREAKING UPDATE** Holy cow, Syracuse did what I thought was the impossible. Syracuse defeated Clemson on the road, And from the looks of the Box Score, Syracuse was outplayed in every way possible in the game, but still managed a CRAZY 28 point 4th quarter to complete the upset! WOW! The Noles still have a shot at the ACC Championship game if they can defeat NC State tonight. Last edited by 0rangez4u; 09-05-2019 at 02:18 AM. |

Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)
GAME RECAP
Spoiler
FSU needed to win. Especially after seeing the news that Clemson lost to Syracuse earlier in the day. After a season that started off rough, FSU now has a chance win the ACC if they can beat Clemson next week. FSU held their end of the bargain by winning now they are one more win from heading to Charlotte. FSU jumped out to an early lead, but yet let it squander and gave the Wolfpack a bit of hope towards the end. But nonetheless, at this stage, a win is a win. And FSU will be glad to take it. The Good The run game has definitely taken a turn for the better as of late. The Noles ran for 265 yards on the day. Sophomore RB Kartrelle Gaither led the team with 118 yards on the ground on 18 carries. Freshman WR Jamar Reid of course had an array of spectacular grabs on the day and finished the game with 5 catches for 140 yards. The leading WR was Freshman RB Zaleel Hamby. 9 catches on the day he continues to get better and better each week as the season grows old. The Bad The Seminoles need to learn to finish better, and need to learn quickly. Two games in a row the Noles have squandered a late lead. That can easily bit FSU in the rear end one of these games as every game becomes more and more important. The Noles played stifling defense most of the game. However, the pass defense buckled towards the end and the Wolfpack was able to pass the ball at will down the stretch. BOX SCORE

Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)
ESPN ON ABC 8:00PM/ET UPDATED PLAYOFF RANKINGS Wow. What a difference one week makes right? There is a LOT we have to grasp about this coming week. First, the Noles were just trying to gain leverage to win out to be in the hunt for an ACC Championship Game birth. And they are one win now away from that. But who would have thought, after the turmoil that happened last week, that FSU could possibly (Just possibly) Have a shot at a College Football Playoff birth? Its first since 2014. First lets break down things piece by peice. FSU ranked #13, was able to knock off NC State this past weekend 41-27. Thats the first check. We all knew heading into the week FSU would need help in order to have a shot at a ACC Championship game. Well, earlier in the day, Syracuse was able to upset the #9 Clemson Tigers at home, 42-38 by scoring 28 points in the 4th Quarter! That's only the beginning of the turmoil. #6 Washington, lost to Arizona on the road 41-17. #10 Michigan lost to #1 Georgia Tech 49-35 in a Primetime game also. And to make a sticky situation even stickier? #4 Miami lost to USC 41-38 on the road. Had enough yet? Well, lets add another one to the picture, because #12 UCLA lost to Arizona State 35-13 on the road. Now, with all that chaos, and with FSU winning a few teams made jumps in the playoff picture. Florida jumped to #6, Florida State jumped to #7, Virginia Tech jumped to 8. And believe it or not, Iowa jumped to #4 !! So, lets get ahead of ourselves a bit shall we? The Noles are red hot right now on a 6 game win streak. If they can knock off Clemson Saturday, and secure the ACC Atlantic Division, it sets up a rivalry clash of the ages. That if Florida can take care of Missouri on the road this weekend. #6 Florida vs #7 Florida State? Yes, please! However, there is a long way to go between now and then. Right now, FSU faces Clemson for all the marbles with Playoff positioning, and ACC Championship hopes in the balance. The Noles have a very tough test in front of them though. They face a very tough group that have been on a tear all season long, and who will be hungry to avenge the bitterness from a week ago. ***WINNER MOVES ON TO THE ACC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME*** Key Matchups Clemson has a ton of talent. Quarterback Pu'a Kanavaii leads the Tigers on the season with 2,080 yards 23 TDs with 12 Ints. And of course he has a stable of WRs around him led by WR Ernest Abel(6'2", 213). Abel has 746 yards and 4 TD this season.Clint Cole and Eddie Holden finish out the trio for the Tigers and both have plenty of big play ability. The past few weeks Tight Ends have been giving the Noles all kinds of issues. This week will be no different as Matt Paris is one of the top Tight Ends in the ACC. DE Brandon Jones(6'4", 280), DE Kendarwick Harris(6'3" 292) and NT Russell Spicer (6'2" 346) lead the Defensive Line of the Tigers. And behind them is one of the best linebacker Corps int he country with Dustin Moore (6'1" 240), Corey Radkee(6'0" 233) and Josh Ryan (5'11" 230). Radkee and Moore are projected NFL draft Picks by Mel Kiper. The entire Clemson secondary are considered potential high draft picks this spring. And currently they lead the country in pass defense efficency. Clemson is ranked #1 in Pass Defense, #12 in run defense and #10 in total Defense. With the ACC on the line I expect Clemson to bring nothing less than their A-Game this weekend. INJURIES DE Cameron Landrum - Season Ending WR Kennard Thomas - Broken Hand -2 to 3 Weeks SUSPENSIONS LB Sapomo Onwtagwu - Season - Conduct Detrimental to Team RECRUITING Florida State got more good news last weekend with committment of Three Star DB Kenneth Woods. Woods committed to FSU over FAU and UCF. The Noles were recruiting him to play Ace, Hawk or Free. S Kenneth Woods 5’10” 168 Jacksonville, FL #13 S, #380 Overall Committed Prospects MLB Rasheed Bryant 6’3” 235 Manassas, VA CB Ja’Carius Kidd 6’2 210 Ft. T Fred Miller 6’6” 315 Council Bluffs, IA #4 T , #73 Overall Committed to: TCU G Donnell Cox 6’4” 340 St. Louis Park, MN #1 G, #6 Overall Florida State did not make final cut. Down to Ohio State and Notre Dame MLB Dan Adams 6’4” 248 Patterson, LA #5 MLB, #106 Overall Comitted to: Alabama G Marcus Nicholson 6’6” 315 Casselberry, FL #4 Guard, #143 Overall Committed to Florida Cox and Adams hurt really bad being that they are prospects at positions of need. Florida State needs to improve tremendously on the interior and Cox could have possibly helped day one. With the uncertainty of Sapomo Owntagwu being suspended, Adams was another must get. The Noles are very thin at Mike LB and Adams could have possibly helped them there next season. Last edited by 0rangez4u; 09-07-2019 at 07:16 AM. |
