What an array of emotions this game displayed. Florida State with its ACC Championship hopes alive, squandered a 35-14 lead in the game, only to walk away with the 49-44 victory. This game was the epitome of a rollercoaster. FSU's defense looked very good at one point and another they couldnt really stop a nosebleed. However, the one takeaway from the game is this, they found a way to win. And thats what matters right? FSU is now 2 wins and 1 Clemson loss away from being able to face West Virginia who sowed up the Coastal Division title today.

The Good
The run game finally showed signs of life today on the road. Kartrelle Gaither ran for 118 yards, and Minter ran for 166. The Noles ran for a season high 335 yards on the ground. And quite frankly, the run game is what sealed the game for the Seminoles late in the game.

Freshman RB Kartrelle Gaither had a breakout game. Everyone knew out of High School he was one of the best receiving running backs in the class. Especially at his size. He put that on display today with 6 catches 108 yards and 1 TD. And on the ground he added 11 carries for 56 yards also. The former Five-Star recruit had his fair share of struggles early in the year, but he has really come on strong as of late.

Another Freshman, CB Isaac Boles had his first multi interception game of the season, including one that went for a Touchdown. The former Five-Star out of Milwaukee has played a strong and pivotal role all season long. And he came up big today with two interceptions of the Syracuse Orange.

The Bad

So much can be said about the defense especially in the second half. Florida state had a multitude of breakdowns and collapses in coverage and in the run game giving up big play after big play to keep Syracuse within striking distance of making a comeback that would have completely altered the season.

One of the few bright spots however was the play of Rashad McCullough at Mike Linebacker. with the suspension of Sapomo Onwtagwu, he has really stepped up and is finally living up to his Five-Star billing out of high school as he was on the cusp of being considered a Five-Star bust after his initial stint at Georgia Tech before transferring.

#11 Clemson barely squeaked out a win vs #22 NC State tonight winning 27-26. Which means Clemson is 1 win in the ACC away from claiming the ACC Atlantic title, which would put them in the ACC championship vs West Virginia. Clemson has two remaining ACC games left, vs Syracuse next week and then against Florida State the following week. If Clemson can beat Syracuse they are in.


FRESHMAN SARDERRIOUS MINTER SETS SCHOOL RECORD

Freshman QB Sarderrious Minter has set a school record by becoming the first 1,000 rushing Quarterback in school history. And He will most certainly be the first 3,000 yard passing and 1,000 rusher in school history also. Currently on the season Minter has 2,861 yards passing and 1,093 yards rushing with three games remaining in the regular season.

The initial College Football Playoff rankings have been released for the 2029 season! Florida State comes in at #13 with a 7-2 ranking with two ranked opponents left on the schedule. #9 Clemson and #11 Florida.

The Noles get their first Primetime night game since playing Miami in early October. And this one is a good one. The Noles play NC State and this definately has not only ACC implications, but quite possibly New Years 6 bowl implications also. The Noles have remaining games vs two ranked opponents after NC State if they can pull off the victory. #9 Clemson and #11 Florida. So this one has many implications on it.

With this game also being a Primetime game, Clemson plays host to Syracuse at 12:00 PM/ET on the ACC Network. If Clemson wins, they are Atlatic Champions and will face West Virginia in the ACC Championship. If they lose, then the Florida State vs Clemson game will have that much more fire to it. The way Clemson has been playing, we highly doubt that will be the case. But anything can happen. Nonetheless, FSU will know well before hand the challenge before their Primetime kickoff. I'm sure the coaches will be glued to the scores during that game.

Key Matchups

The Wolfpack is led by Redshirt Senior QB Jacque Jean-Baptiste. So far on the year he has played pretty much mistake free football. Throwing for 2247 yards, with 23 TDs and only 5 Ints. He also has chipped in 504 yards rushing on the ground. The Dual Threat QB from Ft. Pierce, FL has been giving teams issues all year long. Last week vs Clemson he threw for 277 yards, and ran for another 89 yards.

True Freshman RB Babatunde Clark gives the Wolfpack and added punch in the run game as he leads the Wolfpack in rushing averaging 5.7 yards on the ground. Vs Clemson last week he had a career high 187 yards rushing on the ground.

On Defense the Wolfpack is lead by Junior LB Reggie Moore, Jr. He's the team leader in tackles currently and is a very rangy , sideline to sideline player.

Potential early round draft pick Junior CB Frank Fowlkes could have possibly played himself into a first round grade with his play this season. Prior to the year, he was projected as a 2nd or 3rd rounder. But he has been playing lights out all year and he will likely be matched up vs WR Jamar Reid.

WOW! The Noles still have a shot at the ACC Championship game if they can defeat NC State tonight.

FSU needed to win. Especially after seeing the news that Clemson lost to Syracuse earlier in the day. After a season that started off rough, FSU now has a chance win the ACC if they can beat Clemson next week. FSU held their end of the bargain by winning now they are one more win from heading to Charlotte. FSU jumped out to an early lead, but yet let it squander and gave the Wolfpack a bit of hope towards the end. But nonetheless, at this stage, a win is a win. And FSU will be glad to take it.

The Good

The run game has definitely taken a turn for the better as of late. The Noles ran for 265 yards on the day. Sophomore RB Kartrelle Gaither led the team with 118 yards on the ground on 18 carries.

Freshman WR Jamar Reid of course had an array of spectacular grabs on the day and finished the game with 5 catches for 140 yards. The leading WR was Freshman RB Zaleel Hamby. 9 catches on the day he continues to get better and better each week as the season grows old.

The Bad

The Seminoles need to learn to finish better, and need to learn quickly. Two games in a row the Noles have squandered a late lead. That can easily bit FSU in the rear end one of these games as every game becomes more and more important. The Noles played stifling defense most of the game. However, the pass defense buckled towards the end and the Wolfpack was able to pass the ball at will down the stretch.

UPDATED PLAYOFF RANKINGS

Wow. What a difference one week makes right? There is a LOT we have to grasp about this coming week. First, the Noles were just trying to gain leverage to win out to be in the hunt for an ACC Championship Game birth. And they are one win now away from that. But who would have thought, after the turmoil that happened last week, that FSU could possibly (Just possibly) Have a shot at a College Football Playoff birth? Its first since 2014.

First lets break down things piece by peice. FSU ranked #13, was able to knock off NC State this past weekend 41-27. Thats the first check. We all knew heading into the week FSU would need help in order to have a shot at a ACC Championship game. Well, earlier in the day, Syracuse was able to upset the #9 Clemson Tigers at home, 42-38 by scoring 28 points in the 4th Quarter! That's only the beginning of the turmoil. #6 Washington, lost to Arizona on the road 41-17. #10 Michigan lost to #1 Georgia Tech 49-35 in a Primetime game also. And to make a sticky situation even stickier? #4 Miami lost to USC 41-38 on the road. Had enough yet? Well, lets add another one to the picture, because #12 UCLA lost to Arizona State 35-13 on the road. Now, with all that chaos, and with FSU winning a few teams made jumps in the playoff picture.

Florida jumped to #6, Florida State jumped to #7, Virginia Tech jumped to 8. And believe it or not, Iowa jumped to #4 !! So, lets get ahead of ourselves a bit shall we? The Noles are red hot right now on a 6 game win streak. If they can knock off Clemson Saturday, and secure the ACC Atlantic Division, it sets up a rivalry clash of the ages. That if Florida can take care of Missouri on the road this weekend. #6 Florida vs #7 Florida State? Yes, please! However, there is a long way to go between now and then.

Right now, FSU faces Clemson for all the marbles with Playoff positioning, and ACC Championship hopes in the balance. The Noles have a very tough test in front of them though. They face a very tough group that have been on a tear all season long, and who will be hungry to avenge the bitterness from a week ago.

Key Matchups
Clemson has a ton of talent. Quarterback Pu'a Kanavaii leads the Tigers on the season with 2,080 yards 23 TDs with 12 Ints. And of course he has a stable of WRs around him led by WR Ernest Abel(6'2", 213). Abel has 746 yards and 4 TD this season.Clint Cole and Eddie Holden finish out the trio for the Tigers and both have plenty of big play ability.

The past few weeks Tight Ends have been giving the Noles all kinds of issues. This week will be no different as Matt Paris is one of the top Tight Ends in the ACC.

DE Brandon Jones(6'4", 280), DE Kendarwick Harris(6'3" 292) and NT Russell Spicer (6'2" 346) lead the Defensive Line of the Tigers. And behind them is one of the best linebacker Corps int he country with Dustin Moore (6'1" 240), Corey Radkee(6'0" 233) and Josh Ryan (5'11" 230). Radkee and Moore are projected NFL draft Picks by Mel Kiper.

The entire Clemson secondary are considered potential high draft picks this spring. And currently they lead the country in pass defense efficency. Clemson is ranked #1 in Pass Defense, #12 in run defense and #10 in total Defense. With the ACC on the line I expect Clemson to bring nothing less than their A-Game this weekend.

NOLES DEFEAT CLEMSON TO BECOME ATLANTIC DIVISION CHAMPS

The Cameel Verner Era has begun

The historic head coach, Cameel Verner, Jr, who has won 6 National Championships in 13 years at Georgia Tech, has brought back a winning culture to his Alma Mater here at Florida State. In just his second year, he has Florida State contending for its first ACC Championship in 14 years. Last year the Noles finished the season 8-5 and showed a lot of promise. With ACC play concluded, the Noles finish 7-2 in conference, and are Atlantic Divsion champions. Florida State is one of the hottest teams in the country on a 7 game win streak, and could possibly with some help and some luck could possibly earn a College Football Playoff spot. The Noles defeated a really good Clemson Tiger football team tonight 41-27 and the Noles had to fight every step of the way.



The Good
After a 2-2 start, the Noles are currently sitting at 9-2 and a 7 game win streak. And a playoff spot also could be in the wings if things pan out for FSU. First, they have #6 Florida next week, which could definitely help their case to make it in. Then they have #3 West Virginia in the ACC Championship game. One would think, if FSU wins out, they are in.

Freshman QB Sarderrious Minter had an up and down first half, throwing 4 interceptions. But int he second half he played lights out. While he's been turnover happy most of the season, one cannot deny the confidence, swag and big play ability he brings to the offense. He slid in the Heisman polls for the past couple of weeks due to his high number of turnovers, but he always seems to "make up" or overcome the turnovers he has. He's very special and is currently rewriting the FSU record books. He currently has the Freshman rushing record all to himself, and he's the first 3,000/1,000 Quarterback in FSU history. He's close to breaking the single season touchdown record, as well as passing yard record by a Freshman also.



Carmelo Clancy makes most of every opportunity

Redshirt Junior WR Carmelo Clancy, A former three-star recruit from Brooklyn, NY committed to Georgia Tech 4 years ago as a Running Back. That same class he committed to Georgia Tech to? Five-Star backs Betram Dupree and Yarmain Williams. He was redshirted that first year, and due to the loaded backfield, he switched to DB and played the 'Hawk' position and earned All-Conference honors. Clancy graduated early at Georgia Tech and followed Coach Cameel Verner to Florida State to where he now plays receiver. And tonight, he had a break out game with 5 catches for 115 yards and 2 critical touchdowns. If the word "Athlete" describes anyone, its definitely this kid from Brooklyn.

"He has never complained, and gives 100% in everything he does as a football player. He's the most hard nosed, gritty, blue collar kid I may have ever coached. If every team had 22 Carmelo Clancy's every team would be undefeated. I guarantee that." - said Head Coach Cameel Verner

He was a three-star unranked Kid who had offers from Buffalo, Rutgers and Syracuse..where he might have had a chance at a starting spot. But he chose Georgia Tech where at the time, they had 3 Five-Stars and 2 Four-Stars on the roster or committed to the program through recruiting. He obviously has never been afraid of competition, and here at FSU with a thin receiving corps, he has made the most of his opportunties.



Jamar Reid has another big day

Freshman WR Jamar Reid has another explosive day. The former Five-Star number one overall recruit in the country, made big play after big play all game long for the Seminoles including a crazy jump ball score in the endzone that sparked the entire team.

"He's just a special player. I played in the NFL for 14 years. I honestly believe if he could leave for the NFL today as a Freshman he would be a First Round pick. He does a lot of things behind closed doors you guys dont see. He's a pure football player that does everything you ask of him. And he's as talented as they come" Said Coach Verner

The Bad

The Noles still have had their fair share of issues against the pass. They give up a lot of big plays, but this is an extremely young yet talented football team going against some elite Quarterbacks. Clemson QB Pu'a Kavanaii threw for 404 yards and two touchdowns against the Seminoles. But the Noles were able to make stops when they needed them late. Throughout the year the Staff has made several game by game adjustments that have helped production. And the noles did just that again by pulling out the victory.

It honestly gets no better than this in my opinion. The Noles are one of the hottest teams in the nation with a 7 game win streak, and the ACC Atlantic Champions. Now, in order to attempt to secure a playoff spot, they must defeat a very good Florida team at home. One who which, destroyed Florida State last season in Gainesville. FSU undoubtedly has a tough task in front of them. Not to mention, they have to face #3 West Virginia in the ACC Championship, a team they lost to earlier in the year. But for now, the focus is on the Gators.

Key Matchups

Senior QB Eric Dickson plays in his final regular season game for the Gators. He completely dismantled FSU last season in Gainesville, and he undoubtedly wants to repeat that performance.

Senior RB Roy Webb leads the Gators in rushing this year, averaging 5.8 yards per carry on the year. And Junior WR N'Za Raquel who had 2 touchdowns in last years contest is Florida's leading WR this season.

Defensively, DE Stephen Gunn leads the Gators in sacks with 8 and his speed can be a cause for concern. He is a very speedy pass rusher and he can really cause the Noles problems in the passing game.

At Linebacker future first round pick Champion Reece who leads the COUNTRY in Tackles with 138 is a tackling machine. He is the anchor of that Gator front 7 and FSU must account for him at all times.

What a year. What a turnaround. And to cap of the year, FSU blows out it's arch rival in a game with National Championship implications. Florida State from the opening snap played with aggression and a sense of urgency we havent seen much this season. And every week they find a way to get better and find ways to win. This week they dominated.



Heisman Hopeful Sarderrious Minter solidifies his campaign

The Freshman Quarterback continues to get better and better each passing week. He lost a bit of steam a couple of weeks back, but he continues to find ways to get better and put this team on his back and will its way to a victory. Minter was 22/35 349 yards with 4 TDs. And added another 136 yards on the ground. He has gaudy stats albeit his high number of interceptions. He is rewriting the FSU record books. He's 9 yards away from 4,000 yards passing with almost 1500 yards rushing and 50 total touchdowns. All Freshman FSU records.



Freshman RB Zaleel Hamby finds his groove

The former Five-Star Freshman had his fair share of Freshman growing pains this year. But the coaches knew he was a talent and had to find a way to get him the football. Yes, he struggled running the football, but as a receiver he has shown to be a true mismatch, and in the open field is extremely deadly. The past few weeks the Coaches have done a great job of utilizing his receiving ability and getting him in space and he has torched most defenses. At 6'1" 220, he runs exceptional routes and has sub 4.4 speed that makes it difficult for most linebackers to cover. It showed once again with Hamby having 6 catches for 67 yards and 1 TD on the night.



DB J.D. Davis has become a vital piece to the Defense

The Defense has had its fair share of struggles all season long. But, once FSU made the change to move Defensive Back J.D. Davis to the Starting Lineup at "Ace" (Strong Safety), the defense really changed. They opted to make the Move in Week 6 over Veteran DB Kyle Moore. And in such a short time-span, Davis has become the Seminoles second leading Tackler behind Judah Jackson with 80. Jackson has 118 on the season. Davis, a former Four-Star Cornerback filled the role nicely and has been a huge addition to the Seminoles defense. He once again was tied for the team lead in tackles vs Florida last night with 12.

What another crazy week. FSU needed help to get in the College Football Playoff, now they control their own destiny. All they have to do is beat a very good West Virginia team, and they are in. But how did that happen? At #6 last week, FSU was behind Florida and Notre Dame in the rankings. Of course, FSU toppled Florida, but the unthinkable happened. #4 Notre Dame was upset by unranked Old Dominion at home, 27-13. That dropped Notre Dame all the way down to #18 in the country. Now because of those two losses, FSU jumps 2 spots. However, all the top 3 teams are undefeated, so even with 1 loss it's very plausable that all 3 times have punched their ticket to the College Football Playoff, with the rest of the teams having 2 or more losses. Now, the biggest storyline here, is if FSU wins out, how crazy would it be for them to face off vs the Juggernaut that current FSU Head Coach Cameel Verner built in Georgia Tech. FSU definitely doesnt have the talent Tech has, but most believe they are well on the way to that status however, but reality is they just are not yet. But that would be one heck of a story book saga.



HEISMAN RACE STILL UP FOR GRABS

Freshman QB Sarderrious Minter still leads the Heisman pack but by a slim margin. Hot on his heels is West Virginia QB Bruce McCoy, which most peg as the #1 overall pick in this years NFL Draft. McCoy has thrown for 3975 yards, 49 touchdowns and ONLY 6 interceptions! Yikes!

The Noles have several players that are at the top of the National stage. Defensive Lineman Zaveri O'Born leads the nation in sacks with 15. QB Sarderrious Minter is 2nd in Passing yards and 4th in Rushing yards. While WR Jamar Reid is 5th in receiving yards. DB Bihadda Maddox leads the nation in defensive touchdowns with 3 and is tied for 6th in interceptions.

LB Zel'Arius Wilson is one of those Hybrid players that we love in this defense. Can play a bunch of different areas on Defense for us. He chose FSU over Penn State, Kansas, FIU and Alabama.

RB Jardai Slaughter is a big strong back with good speed that we needed and added an elite RB to the depth that we will truly need in this class. We would like to add atleast one more back to this class. But Slaughter fits the bill of what we are needing and looking for. He chose FSU over Ohio State and Wisconsin.

Key Matchups
Well here we go. Round two. Florida State and West Virginia go at it one more time this year, this time for the ACC Championship. West Virginia won the first match up in a shoot-out 48-43. Senior QB Melvin McCoy led the Mountaineers that game going 29/41 365 yards and 3 touchdowns. And WR Larry Townsend did not make life easy whatsoever for the Seminoles as he reeled in 11 catches for 191 yards. If FSU wants to pull this one out, they have to slow down the production of those two players. Defensively, Bruce Davis gave FSU trouble with 10 tackles and two sacks.

On the flp side, Sarderrious Minter had a career day vs West Virginia throwing for 398 yards and 6 touchdowns. The Defense has gotten much better since Week 2 of the season, so it will be a great matchup to watch.

Florida State loses it's top two cornerbacks for the ACC Championship Game

Reserve Freshman CB Jerrell Horn has been suspended for the game for violation of team rules. Horn filled in for the injured starter CB Isaac Boles last week as the Noles beat Florida 35-7. The Noles secondary has become much thinner with the suspension.

And to make news even worse, Sophmore CB Detaro Levine has been deemed academically ineligible and is out for the rest of the season. Huge Blow for the Seminoles secondary who is facing one of the top Offenses in the country. Levine leads the Noles with 61 tackles, 18 Pass Breakups and 6 interceptions on the season.

Cameel Verner announced with the two Corners out, that DB J.D. Davis who has started 6 games this year at Ace will move to Corner, Redshirt Sophmore DB Tyler Gardner will also start at the opposite corner as well. True Freshman DB Colton Hathaway will start at Ace in place of J.D. Davis.

2029 ACC CHAMPIONS

Your 2029 ACC Champions! It's been 14 years since Florida State has been crowned ACC Champion. When Head Coach Cameel Verner was hired to be the coach of Florida State from Georgia Tech, he was hired to bring the same winning culture he established in Atlanta. At Georgia Tech, he won 6 National Titles in 13 years. And here at FSU, he has them atleast 1 Conference Championship in only his second year. The Noles are currently 11-2, a dramatic turn around from their 8-5 finish last season. And the Noles did it albeit being extremely thin going into this game with multiple suspensions on the Defensive side of the ball.

"I've preached 'Next man up' since I arrived here. One thing I learned playing here at Florida State all those years ago, and in my time in the NFL, theres always someone behind you ready to take your spot. And I'm proud of these young men for stepping in tonight and getting the job done". Said the Head Coach.

Could Minter have Solidified his Heisman run?

Alot of the naysayers will point out to his erratic play of taking care of the football. Yes, he threw 4 interceptions tonight. He also had a fumble. 5 total turnovers in one game. But in the same light, what other player in the history of football, let alone a Freshman, can over come those odds and still find a way to win? And consistently does it? It seems as if the more he turns the ball over, the better he ends up playing. By all accounts Minter had a terrible game. He threw just 42% passing, with 5 total turnovers. However, he threw for 508 yards, and 4 touchdowns. Hes always a threat with his legs as he kept many plays AND drives alive as he rushed for 128 yard on 8 carries! Listen folks, he has a lot to improve on with his decision making and mechanics. But the kid is just flat out special. And theres no doubt in my mind FSU would not be here without him.

Confidence is everything fo Zaleel Hamby

Switching gears, have we seen any more of an improvement from any player in the country the second half of the season than we have with this Freshman? RB Zaleel Hamby has been playing unreal. He was compared to Le'Veon Bell out of High School, and through the first 6 games it was hard to see that. But the second half of the year, welp, we see it. Hamby does it all. And hes behind a future 1st round pick in RB Kartrelle Gaither. Tonight he completely outperformed him actually. Hamby, ran the ball 8 times for 40 yards, an average of 5.0 yards a carry. But he reeled 9 catches for 156 yards which led all receievers.

"Once he started to believe he belonged on this level, you see the type of player hes capable of being. He is such a mismatch in the passing game. He runs EXCELLENT routes. He really does. And to be so big, he's so fast. And of course he has very sure hands to go along with it. And once the ball is in his hands, you have to remember he's a Running Back, and a Big Running Back in space will cause a lot of issues" Said Offensive Coordinator Tommy Bowden.

With the last minute suspensions, Defense still rises

The defense played tonight's game against arguably the most efficient offense in the country without its top 3 Cornerbacks. CB Jerrell Horn was suspended for tonight's game, CB Detaro Levine has been declared academically ineligible, and CB Isaac Boles was out with a High Ankle Sprain. With all of that said, FSU still gave up over 400 yards passing, but they still got the stops they needed WHEN they needed them. DB Colton Hathaway filled in at Ace(Strong Safety) And finished with 8 Tackles and 1 pass breakup on the night, DB J.D. Davis filled in at Corner and finished with 7 tackles and 3 pass breakups , while DB Tyler Gardner finished with 5 tackles and 2 pass breakups.

And the wait is finally over. The College Football Playoff has been revealed! Florida State jumps to #3 after beating West Virginia Saturday and West Virginia falls to #4. Georgia Tech remains #1, and Ohio State remains #2.

Georgia Tech will face West Virginia in New Orleans in the All-State Sugar Bowl for the First Semi-Final Matchup. Followed by Florida State and Ohio State in the Discover Orange Bowl in Miami, FL.

Florida State is one of the hottest teams in the country currently with 9 straight victories, and wins over 4 ranked opponents on the season, finishing the year 4-1 vs Top 25 teams. On the year the Noles scored over 30 points in every game this season, the first time since 2013.

MINTER BECOMES FIRST TRUE FRESHMAN HEISMAN WINNER

Not only did QB Sarderrious Minter re-write the Florida State record books, he also became the first True Freshman to win the Heisman Trophy. And he's the first FSU Heisman Trophy winner since 2013. Minter finished the season with 6,047 Total Yards and 54 Total Touchdowns on the season with a landslide victory. He also won the Maxwell Award to go along with the Heisman Trophy.

Junior DB Judah Jackson took home the Thorpe Award for Americas Best DB, and the Chuck Bednarik Award for Nations best Defender.

He finished the season 6th in the country in Tackles, with 129. Also accompanied that effor with 6 interceptions and 15 PBUs.

Freshman DL Zaveri O'Born brought home the Lombardi Award for nations best Defensive Lineman. The undersized DT from Apopka, FL led the nation with 16.0 sacks on the season.

4 West Virginia vs 1 Georgia Tech

A game of true heavyweights. Georgia Tech is loaded. In fact, loaded may be an understatement. Florida States current Coach, Cameel Verner, brought Georgia Tech to modern day prominence. While at Tech, Verner brought 6 National Titles to Atlanta in 13 years. Former FSU Quarterback, and Verner's old Offensive Coordinator, Matteo Sledge(NCAA 2006 XBOX), took over head coaching duties 2 years ago. In two years Sledge is 23-2 as Head Coach of the Jackets. Inlcuding a 13-0 start to the season this year.

Georgia Tech currently has 62 ..Four or Five-Star players on its current roster. Most (by far) in the country. Georgia Tech is led by Heisman Finalist QB, Weldon Plante (6'5" 220). A trio of Five-Star Running Backs headline Georgia Tech . Former number one overall player in the country out of High School, Doom Murphy (5'11", 228), Bertram Dupree (6'1", 237) and Titus Myrick (6'0 195) who also is a star track athlete for Georgia Tech, boasts a Georgia Tech record in the 100 meter race with a 10.03.

Defensively, which has always been a strength, are extremely(abnormaly big), fast and intelligent. Tech boasts a number of Five-Stars and potential first round picks on defense. NT Jamarcus June (6'6" 360), Linebackers Trinidad Pierre-Ohakim (6'3" 244) and Devon Hall (6'4" 250) lead the Jackets on Defense. In the secondary, potential First Round CB Joaquim Hansah-Bello (6'3" 220) and S Santana Dexter (6'4" 225) lead a star studded secondary for the Jackets.

In Cameel Verner's final year at Georgia Tech, he set an NFL record in draft picks by a school in a single draft. This year, Tech could possibly break that record.

West Virginia is led by Heisman Finalist QB, and possibly 1st overall pick, Melvin McCoy. McCoy has been a terror for teams all year long as hes thrown for over 4500 yards and 48 touchdowns with only 6 interceptions.

West Virginia has a host of talented recievers in Larry Townsend and Terrence Stegall, both of whom have over 1,000 yards recieving on the season.

Defensively, FSU is lead by the NCAA Sack Leader Freshman DL Zaveri O'Born (6'0 251) and former Georgia Tech Transfer, Rashad McCullough at Linebacker. DB Bihadda Maddox (5'11" 195) lead the Seminoles with 6 interceptions, and Thorpe and Lombardi Award Winner S Judah Jackson (6'6" 240)

Ohio State is led by a defense by committee as they have 4 to 5 linebackers they rotate that handle the load in run defense for the Buckeyes. But all eyes will be on WR C'Miste Pratt (6'4" 208) and RB Dontrell Waters (5'11" 208). They are the lifeblood of the offense and they have been the catalyst to the 13-0 start for Ohio State this year.

DE Le'Ron Foster (6'6" 273) has caused all kinds of Havoc for the Buckeyes on the edge, and the leader of the LB corps Timothy Williams (6'3" 232) leads the Buckeyes in tackles and is 4th in the country in tackles with 136.

Well Georgia Tech proved to be too much for the Mountaineers. Tech was in control the entire game. However, WVU QB Melvin McCoy had a heroic attempt at a comeback but Tech again was just too much. McCoy proved why he is considered by most the #1 pick in the NFL Draft this spring, as he played a pivotal role in the game as they relied heavily on his arm. McCoy finished the game 32/58 349 with 3 TDs, he also added 124 yards rushing on the ground. His counterpart, QB Weldon Plante of Georgia Tech finished 29/43 353 with 3 TDs to his credit also. The difference? Was Georgia Tech RB Doom Murphy, 23 carries 131 yards 1 TD on the night. But Georgia Tech just proved to be too deep and too talented and just wore down the Mountaineers.

FSU SQUEAKS BY OHIO STATE 35-34

Florida State makes its first College Football Playoff appearance under Second year Head Coach Cameel Verner Jr. The Noles are possibly the hottest team in the country currently with 10 straight victories after starting the season 2-2. And they continued the trend by knocking off formerly unbeaten #2 Ohio State. Heisman Trophy winner QB Sarderrious Minter had another monster game for the Seminoles, going 26/45 457 yards and 3 TDs, he also added 147 yards rushing on 15 carries.. He had 4 total turnovers in the game, but each time he turned the ball over he seemed to have some sort of response to keept he Seminoles in the game, or give them the lead. Freshman WR Kennard Thomas really stole the show showcasing blazing speed and gamebreaking ability all night long as he led the Seminoles with 7 catches for 175 yards and 2 Touchdowns. RB Zaleel Hamby was second in receiving on the night with 5 catches for 95 yards and 1 Touchdown. Hamby continues to get better with each passing week for the Seminoles after a rough start to the beginning of the season. The Noles will prepare to face Georgia Tech for the National Championship next weekend.
