Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)

3 FLORIDA STATE vs 1 GEORGIA TECH

    8:00 PM/ET ESPN

Editors Note Backstory:So, its funny it panned out this way. For most of you that have been following me, know I ended my Georgia Tech Dynasty to create a new Dynasty with Florida State and I placed Tech's old Coach, Cameel Verner as Florida State's Head Coach. And I promoted the Offensive Coordinator of Georgia Tech Matteo Sledge as Head Coach of the Yellow Jackets. I honestly didnt think we would cross paths, not this quickly anyway. In my second year of my Florida State Dynasty, here we are. So, a little background of Georgia Tech's Coach Matteo Sledge. He was my Quarterback for Florida State back on the XBOX days on NCAA 06 back in 2005. He was a three year starter, and went on playing a few years in the NFL when I imported him to Madden. He was one of the fastest players I ever played with. He literally had a 99 in speed at Quarterback. His throwing power was 97 but accuracy was 74. But back then his speed was the difference. The two had a tremendous career together at Georgia Tech winning 4 championships. While at Georgia Tech, Verner had 8 straight #1 recruiting classes, so its safe to say Tech is loaded. And its crazy seeing the players I recruited on NextGen gameplay. Anyway, all these years later, Verner and Sledge cross paths. What a storyline right?

    TEACHER VS STUDENT

Well. The stage is set. Teacher vs Student. Teammate vs Teammate. Both Georgia Tech Coach, Matteo Sledge, and Former Georgia Tech Head Coach, yet Current Florida State Head Coach Cameel Verner Sr played together at Florida State back in the early 2000s. And just 3 years ago, they were on the sideline together. Sledge was Verner's Offensive Coordinator for Florida State from 2020 to 2027. Sledge was apart of 4 National Championship teams with Verner as his Offensive Coordinator for the Yellow Jackets. Now the two will duel it out to see who comes out on top this time.

However, in just Verner's second season as Florida State's head Coach, it's safe to say his roster isn't filled with top tier talent from top to bottom like Georgia Tech is. While at Tech, Verner filled the Yellow Jackets roster with elite talent year in and year out. He had 8 straight #1 recruiting classes while at Georgia Tech. And he just finished last season with a #1 class with Florida State also. But alot of Verner's old players that are Juniors and Seniors are still currently on Georgia Tech's roster, which is a huge reason why Tech is 14-0 on the season currently with the talent gap they have to their disposal.

"Yeah, I still love every single person on that roster. Those are special kids. They know they are special kids. And as you can see, Matteo is taking very good care of them. I'm very proud of each and every one of them" Said Coach Verner.

If Florida State is to come out on top, they will definately have to deal with the Depth that Georgia Tech has. Florida State has a talented roster, but it's mostly top heavy as Coach Verner hasnt had the time yet to fully fill out his roster just yet. But as Coach Verner puts it, "It's go time". Verner is looking for his 7th National Championship which would be an NCAA record. Matteo Sledge, is looking for his 1st as a Head Coach, but 5th overall.

    PLAYERS FAMILIARITY

Coach Verner knew he needed a bit of help this year in order to compete at an elite level. And he used the transfer portal to his advantage. Three former Georgia Tech players are currently on Florida States roster. And it's probably not ironic that all three are starters. Senior LB Akeem Austin who has 68 tackles on the season and 7 sacks, Redshirt Junior LB Rashad McCullough who is second on the team in Tackles with 94, and Junior WR Carmelo Clancy has over 400 yards recieving for the Noles this season have all played pivotal roles for the Seminoles this year. While Austin a former three-star prospect, and McCullough a formver Five-Star prospect's careers at Georgia Tech didnt quite flourish like they wanted it to, they have really flourished this season with the Seminoles. And Carmelo Clancy, has always been the underdog. A former three-star from Brooklyn,NY has played 3 different positions for Coach Verner at FSU and Georgia Tech. Clancy moved from Running Back to Defensive Back at Georgia Tech where he claimed All-Conference honors at that position. Now at Florida State he's the starting slot WR for the Seminoles.

"We know all those guys over there very well. We competed with them in practice every day, and went to war with them in a lot of games. So we know the mentality they are going to bring. If we dont bring our A Game then it will be over with quickly because bringing their A Game is all they know." Said WR Carmelo Clancy

Senior LB Akeem Austin added "I spent 4 years there. I love that school with all my heart. And I've played in 2 National Championships there. This will be my third. So I know exactly what they are going through right now mentally preparing for us. They are going to bring nothing but the absolute best. And we have to match that."

While two of the former players were laser focused, Middle Linebacker Rashad McCullough who was a Five-Star recruit for the Yellow Jackets who had a rich history of injuries while enrolled, had a different approach "Man, I havent hit any of those guys in a long long time" He said with a laugh. "Monday can't get here fast enough. I just ready to play man. I'm just ready to play."

As you can see, this will be one for the ages.

    Key Matchups

Georgia Tech easily has the most loaded roster in the country. It currently has 62 Four or Five Star players combined on its current roster. All of them are big, fast, and intelligent. QB Weldon Plante (6'5" , 220) leads the charge on offense, and the former #1 recruit in the country RB Doom Murphy (5'11' 227) who ran wild on the West Virginia defense in the semi-finals makes life a lot easier for Plante.

Georgia Tech also has a host of former Five-Star receivers on the outside, Bilitnetkoff award winner WR Travyione Ball (5'9" 200) leads the Tech receivers this year, along with the bigger wide outs WR Tyson Buckner (6'5" 195) and WR Dylan Busch (6'4" 218) who had a game high 123 yards receiving on 6 catches against the Mountaineers. Former Five-Star Tight End and former Basketball player Deshawn Bratcher (6'8 240) causes a ton of mismatches for teams also with his size, and athletic ability.

Defensively , the Yellow Jackets are huge, and they still run the 3-3-5 defense that Verner implemented while there, and the same defense he runs at Florida State. Junior DE Rohan Malice Jr (6'6" 300) is pegged as a 1st Round Pick, Senior DE Camden Bracken (6'4" 295) and another projected First round Pick Junior NT Jamarcus June (6'6" 363) are the 3 man front for the Jackets. Rohan Malice Jr's dad, Rohan Malice Sr, is the Defensive Line Coach currently for the Seminoles.

At Linebacker, Tech is led by Junior LB Trinidad Pierre-Ohakim (6'4" 245) and former Five-Star LB Junior Devon Hall (6'4" 250). JR LB Olanis Trahan(6'5" 265) finishes out the LB corps and is the pass rushing specialist for the Yellow Jackets, and he had 2 sacks in the Semi-Finals vs West Virginia.

Joqauin Hansah-Bello is a freak of nature at Cornerback. The Junior CB at 6'3" 220 is a DB that NFL Coaches cannot wait to get their hands on in this years draft. And his former High School teammate, DB Santana Dexter (6'4" 225) leads the back end for the Jackets at Safety. Former Five-Star DB Medarius Myles (6'1" 227) also will roam the secondary for the Yellow Jackets.

As you can see, they are an abnormaly large team. But FSU has been the hottest team in the country as of late and coaching has reigned surpreme all year. But have the Seminoles met a team that are just way too talented to over come? Only time will tell.

        2029 SEASON CLOSING

Man this season was a lot of fun. This mod brings so many challenges each week with different teams. It took a lot of adjustments, personnel changes etc to fit to make things work. I did not in my wildest years expect to win a championship this season, but so many crazy things happened. From Clemson losing to Syracuse, to Notre Dame losing to Old Dominion and many more..it was just like college football in real life. This was probably the most fun I've ever had in a dynasty that I've been doing since 2002.

Sarderrious Minter is a game changer and a player. Playing with him and growing with him throughout the season was extremely fun and I'm positive we would not be where we are without him.

Zalee Hamby had a very good ending to the season and actually ended up becoming the second leading WR on the team as a RB.

Jamar Reid and Kennard Thomas are as advertised. Very special athletes.

The Defense, is causes a lot of havoc as always. Lots of blitzes and pressure, but we gave up a TON of points this year. If the offense wasnt so explosive we would have been destroyed in a lot of games. Recruiting will be extremely important with a lot of people gradutating etc. But a very fun season.

            RECRUITING UPDATE

The National Champion Florida State Seminoles sit on top of the current recruiting rankings at #1 going into Signing Day. FSU has a total of 18 commitments so far, but are looking to finish the class particularly strong. Even though FSU has the #1 class, they still want to strengthen depth in certain areas on the team. Particularly on the Offensive Line. And with Signing Day approaching, new targets have emerged on the radar for FSU.

            Season Targets left Uncommitted

WR Orbit Jackson 6’0” 200 Bay City, TX

OL Corey Irvin6'5" 286 Massapequa, NY
            #25 C, Unranked Overall

OL Marcus Kirby6'7" 280 Bessemer, AL
            #52 OT, Unranked Overall

DT Brad Barnes 6'5" 319 Tulsa, OK
            #27 DT, Unranked Overall

DT Braylon McGrew 6'4" 273 Broomall, PA
            #107 DT, Unranked Overall

LB Kevin Marshall 6'1" 222 St. Cloud, FL
            #44 MLB, Unranked Overall

LB Charles Freeman 6'5" 232 Camp Verde, AZ
            #30 OLB, Unranked Overall

RB Trey Wright 5'11" 202 Dayton, TN
            #5 RB, #30 Overall

ATH Thomas Dailey 5'11" 195 Pensacola, FL
            #4 ATH, #23 Overall

            New Targets Breakdown

The Noles have two new Five-Star tagets on the board. RB Trey Wright, and ATH Thomas Dailey. Wright is a very fast and elusive back, that can compliment current commit Jardai Slaughter. Wright is a 4.35/40 guy that could bring a speed dimension to the FSU backfield they currently dont have. ATH Thomas Dailey, currently plays QB WR and Defensive Back in High School. It appears his best landing spot at the next level is Receiver. However, FSU has a loaded WR class, and is still in the running for WR Orbit Jackson. I do not expect FSU to land both, but It appears Jackson is a long shot as he is trending heavily to Texas A&M, while Dailey isnt the explosive athlete Jackson is, he is a solid option of FSU can land one or the other.

FSU wants to land atleast 3 to 4 Offensive Lineman to finish the Cycle. Remaining Season Target, OL Anthony Branch is the top target, however FSU is going hard after OL Jeremy Young, OL Corey Irvin, and OL Marcus Kirby. FSU likes Versatile Lineman, and while none of these players are day one impact guys, they could be long term impact players if developed properly. All have great frames to pack solid weight on and can be placed anywhere throughout the front line.

With the news of former Five-Star Sapomo Onwtagwu no longer apart of FSU's Football team, FSU would like to add one or two more Linebackers to this class. Three-Star LB Kevin Marshall is the top target to add late to the class.

Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)

FSU finished its 2030 class meeting a few needs but still missing out on a few also. However, the Noles did cap a star studded WR class by nabbing the #2 Overall player in the country WR Orbit Jackson, who all believed was heading to Texas A&M.

Another big pick up for FSU was speedy Five-Star RB Trey Wright. FSU really shored up its backfield for the next few years signing this speedy prospect out of Tennessee.

FSU also finished the class with 3 Offensive Lineman , OL Anthony Branch, OL Ken Moore, and OL Marcus Kirby.

Lastly, the nephew of Head Coach Cameel Verner Sr, Mikkie Munday is the last recruit to be signed by FSU out of Hollywood, FL. Munday has plenty of size and athletic ability to help the offense of FSU.

                  BIGGEST WINNERS OF SIGNING DAY

                  1. Florida State

For the second consecutive year, the Noles finished with the number one ranked class. And for the 10th consecutive year, their Head Coach, Cameel Verner, Jr. finishes with his #1 recruiting class dating back to his days at Georgia Tech. Florida State has become a real problem on the recruiting trail, and will be even more of a problem now they have secured a National Title.

The Noles secured Five- Stars on Signing Day, bringing their total for the 2030 class to 5. The Noles have undoubtedly the #1 receiving class in the country. Nabbing Five-Star Orbit Jackson, and Four Stars Syvtavious Graham, Tso Cyrus, and Chris Brown. The Noles are big, fast and extremely athletic at the Wide Receiver position.

The Noles also landed the #1, 2 and 3 overall players in the country. It has only been done 3 times in the Rivals era. All 3 times, were done by Cameel Verner Sr. Five-Star CB Ja'Carius Kidd would probably be the number one pick in the NFL Draft this season as a High School Senior, that's just how good he is.

                  Top Signed Players:

CB Ja'Carius Kidd 6'2" 210 Ft. Meyers, FL
WR Orbit Jackson 6'0" 200 Bay City, TX
ATH Luron Dixon 6'1" 180 Toccoa, GA
                  DT David McNeil-Days 6'5" 345 Ravenna, OH
RB Trey Wright 5'11" 203 Dayton, TN

                  2. Georgia Tech

For the second year in a row, Georgia Tech finishes second in the recruit rankings. They nabbed the same amount of five-stars as FSU. But the overall four-stars gave the Noles the edge. But its evident neither team are going anywhere any time soon. Five-Star QB James Balzarini headlines the class for the Yellow Jackets.

                  Top Players
                  QB James Balzarini 6'4" 205 Bell,CA
OL Baron Slade 6'8" 338 Atlanta, GA
CB Simon Short 6'2" 203 Miami, FL

                  S Justin Steele 5'11" 201 Jacksonville, FL

                  3. Alabama

The Crimson Tide didnt have a great season, finishing the year 9-4 and 5-4 in the SEC. But they added some great talent to their team this season. The edition of Five-Star RB Braden Brillion and LB Gary London headline the class for the Tide.

                  Top Signed Players:
RB Braden Brillon 5'11" 186 San Diego, CA
LB Gary London 6'4" 226 Dunmore, PA

LB John Brooks 6'2" 238 Winter Springs, FL

                  4. Ohio State

Another playoff contending team is in the top 5 of the recruit rankings this season. The Buckeyes came up short in the College Football Playoff, however doesnt erase the great season they had. And in the off-season they got even better. Headlined by Massive Road Grading Guard Donnell Cox.

                  5. Arizona

The surprise of the year would be the recruiting class landed by Arizona. Arizona topped their class with a total of 3 five-stars headlined by WR Cody Rogers. Arizona finished the year 9-4 and looks to build on that success with this recruiting class heading into next season.

Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)

MEET THE RECRUITS OF THE 2030 CLASS

The massive guard came down to Boise State, San Diego State and FSU on Signing Day, and ultimately signed with the Noles. The product out of Woodland Park, CO fits into the mean aggressive nature the Noles like from their Offensive Line. He definitely has a bright future if he keeps his head on straight.

The speedy defender chose FSU over Oklahoma and Texas. He played primarily Defensive End in High School, and fits in the 3-3-5 OLB Defense for the Noles. He brings versatility on the second level being able to play different Linebacker spots. He's the bigger and versatile OLB the Noles like in their defense.

This guy is a physical freak that I think is vastly underrated. Hes got size...athletic ability and runs a 4.36 /40...one of the fastest WRs in the country by far. He really gave FSU another deep threat when FSU is pretty deep with those currently. But his size is what has everyone drooling over him. He chose FSU over UCF, Miami and Florida.

Coach Verner routinely likes a thumper in the middle who can help support the run and Rasheed Bryant fits that bill. He hits like a truck and fills gaps extremely well. He will need help in coverage, but run support is definately not his weak spot. He chose FSU over Alabama and West Virginia.

Another huge target in the receiving corps. Cyrus isnt the blazer that the other WRs are on the roster, but hes a big body and has very good hands. He's the possession WR that FSU needs to offset all of the speed they have on the outside. This was a big pickup as he can do a lot of good things for the FSU offense.

FSU wanted to get bigger on the edges, and Dickerson is exactly that guy. Dickerson isnt an exceptional pass rusher on the Edge, but he is a gap filler and run stuffer. For most other schools, he would probably grow into a DT, but in the odd front FSU plays, he fits exactly what they need.

Dixon is an explosive athlete, which is why he's the 3rd overall player in the nation. He's a 4.3 guy, with a 45 inch vertical. He passes every eye test there is. And FSU got a big time playmaker with this one. FSU plans on using him at Defensive Back, more than likely at the Free Safety spot with the departure of 1st round pick Judah Jackson. Dixon may not be the physical freak Jackson was, but he's probably more of a raw athlete.

Sytavious "Pit" Graham is a guy if not for his height, he probably would be a Five-Star. Graham is probably the most athletic player in this class. At 185, he definately carries a muscular frame as his High School teammates nicknamed him "Pit" because he's short and stout like a Pit Bull. Graham is a Regional Wrestling Champion , and a State Track Champion. Graham posted a 10.24 100 meter in the State Finals in track. He's a big time athlete and will help FSU out in many different ways. FSU plans to use him in the Slot as well as in the backfield at Running Back.

Probably the most athletic player in the 2030 class. And it might not be close. FSU got a steal here. He was pegged to go to Texas A&M, but in the final hour he chose Florida State. Jackson is probably one of the most athletically gifted athletes I've ever seen. Hes a legit 4.3 guy who broke the Texas state 100m record that had been in place since 1986. Jackson posted a 10.09 in the 100 meter race. He also broke Marquis Goodwin's Long Jump Record, and he also broke the Triple Jump Record. He's a special athlete. And hes an even better football player. The Noles have a solid player here that can play any position at Wideout for the Noles.

Where do we begin? This guy is just unreal. Everyone know's he's the little brother of former All-American, and former #1 Pick in the NFL Draft, Aldarius Kidd who owns every receiving record there is at Georgia Tech. And he also is a 3 time Pro Bowler in his first 3 years in the NFL. The younger Kidd? Could be better(Yikes!). Most NFL scouts have said if Ja'Carius Kidd could have come out of High School and entered the Draft today, he would be the number one pick. So it's hard to undermine the bloodline. Aldarius Kidd was special, and not even considered human coming out of High School, his little brother is right behind him. Former Nole great Deion Sanders, who is from the same hometown as Ja'Carius Kidd, has un-retired the #2 Jersey for the him to wear. That's what people think of this kids future.

The theme this off-season was for FSU to get bigger. Terrence Manson is definitely a bigger End that the Noles love. He's a blue collar guy that will be tough to handle in the trenches and FSU loves his demeanor.

A signing day surprise. Kirby is a long Tackle. FSU likes long lineman. It may take him a few years to develop, but with a OL Coach like Dan Rouchar, he's in great hands. A good project pickup for the Noles at a position of need.

The only QB taken in this class. A big bodied guy who runs in the 4.6 range. Verner prefers dual threat guys, and McDaniel fits the bill. Big arm, good feet. And theres no rush to put him on the field, as he has time to develop and watch behind Heisman Trophy winner Sarderrious Minter.

David McNeil Days was a big time steal from Buckeye country. He's a very very large man. And surprisingly, his extremely agile for his size. He plays the pass just as well as he plays the run. Hes a special kind of athlete and will fit right in the middle of the defense at Nose Tackle for the Noles.

A Signing Day pick up for FSU. FSU wants to create healthy depth on the OL and Ken Moore is a solid pick up on Signing Day. Can play Center or Guard for FSU.

The Nephew of Head Coach Cameel Verner chose the Noles on Signing Day. Munday is a big target who also has the ability to play WR in certain instances. He played Defensive End most of his career and switched to Tight End his Senior season where he led South Broward High in Touchdowns. He's a big athletic guy who ended up choosing Football over Basketball where he also had offers from Cincinatti, Seton Hall, and NC State.

Phillips is one of the more athletic big guys in the country. At 270 Pounds he runs a 4.64, and boasts a 42 inch vertical. He's listed at DE, but FSU plans on moving him to Bandit or Spud Linebacker(OLB). He's a heck of a pass rusher as he led the state in sacks this year. FSU wanted to improve their pass rush, and Phillips is a guy that can immediately help with that.

Rodriguez is a very scrappy player that FSU fell in love with. He's a huge competitor, and FSU wanted him in a big way and made him a priority. FSU plans on using him all over the Defense, at Hawk, Free and Ace. Hes a versatile athlete and FSU loves those kind of players.

If you like physical runners, then Slaughter is your guy. FSU has made it known they like violent down hill runners.Current FSU RB Kartrelle Gaither may be the most violent i've ever seen, and Slaughter is in the thick of that conversation. He's a downhill guy, that actually has more speed than Gaither. Slaughter saw how the FSU run game goes down hill and it was a no brainer for him to sign with the Noles.

This was a very interesting recruitment, as Stephens is one of the best Safeties in the country. However, it appears he will not be playing DB at FSU. He has stated that FSU has recruited him to play the Spud (OLB) position at FSU. While the Spud positon has more coverage duties than the average OLB, it makes sense to put a physical guy like Stephpens at that spot who can cover and also support the run. FSU did a great job with this recruitment.

The son of former FSU Linebacker Melvin Whitehead who played for FSU back in the early 2000s(NCAA 06 XBOX) with Head Coach Cameel Verner, committed to FSU as a TE. He played DE and LB in High School alot like his Dad, but currently he will start off his career at TE/H-Back for the Seminoles.

Wilson isnt your prototypcial OLB. Wilson is an athletic linebacker who can get sideline to sideline in a hurry. And is also a heck of a pass rusher also. FSU fell in love with his versatility and made it known they needed him on the defense. Wilson chose FSU over Texas and Oklahoma State.

Woods is one of the faster players in the class that FSU wanted badly. FSU wants him at the Hawk or Free position where he can really utilize his speed. Special Teams could be a placehodler for him early in his career where he can really showcase the speed he has.

A signing day surprise. Wright wasnt targeted by FSU until late in the process and came away with his signature. Wright caps of a speed riddled class as he instantly is the fastest back on the FSU roster. Wright is a 4.36 guy and can be used in a multitude of different ways. If the coaches can put him in a position to succeed then watch out. He was the ultimate steal.

Time for the Redshirts to Shine

Last year, Florida State saw a number of players Redshirt for the 2029 season. Today we look back on those players that Redshirted, and take a look at their possible roles for the 2030 season.

                      High School Profile

Black Redshirted last season in order to gain the weight and strength needed to be effective at the next level. He was an extremely highly regarded Lineman, and was one of the best pass blockers in the country. Reportedly, Black is up to 310. And could complete for playing time this fall.

                      High School Profile

Chindell needed a redshirt year to adjust to the life of College and to have a year in the weight room in order to become an effective interior lineman. Chindell is up to 315 and could possibly contend for the starting spot at Center.

                      High School Profile

Craft redshirted last year and is now up to 331 pounds. With the departure of Chris Merrick, he could compete for the starting spot at Guard as a Redshirt Freshman.

                      High School Profile

Holloway is a massive massive guy. And with a year in the program, he is in the running for the starting spot at Guard this season. He dropped down to 325 last season, and bulked back up to 340 as indicated in his high school profile.

                      High School Profile

McBee was one of the highest rated Redshirts for Florida State. But as most Freshman, he needed to aclimate himself to the collegiate life. McBee could see extensive playing time at Spud or Bandit (OLB) this season and is up to 255 pounds.

                      High School Profile

Snyder took a redshirt season and has dropped down to 307 pounds. Synder is looking to take advantage of the added quickness and attempt to crack the two deep or starting lineup this fall.

                      High School Profile

Tate was a big signing for FSU last year. With the depth at DE last year, Tate was Redshirted and is up to 283 pounds. He could be a big player at a position of need this season for the Noles.

                      High School Profile

Terrell another highly anticpated prospect was initally believed to play a lot last season, but it turned out that redshirting would be best for him. Terrell is up to a whopping 288 pounds and will be relied on heavily this season.

                      High School Profile

The extremely intelligent Quarterback redshirted last year and can really compete for a vacant back up role this season.

                      High School Profile

The versatile lineman redshirted last season and it seems to have really paid off. Weiss is up to 325, and is actually pegged to play Defensive End for the Seminoles this season instead of Defensive Tackle. The Noles wanted to get bigger, and they defintely have.

                        Off Season Weight Gains

The Seminoles made it a priority to live in the weight room this off season and pack on..or in some cases..lose necessary weight to play at the highest level. Initial thoughts based on the projected Depth Chart and initial roster, the Noles are much bigger in the Offensive and Defensive Lines. A lot of players benefitted from redshirting last season, and adding the necessary weight to produce at this level. On Defense, one who which immediately jumped out at us immediately, was Sophmore Kenyatta Bimbo, who not only added weight after playing last season at 214 pounds, is now up to 245, but he also changed positions from Defensive End to Spud Linebacker. More on that later. But for now, here are the weight transformations of some players from last year to this year.

WR Jamar Reid 200 to 215
TE David Davis 220 to 245
OL Sanderson Hall 315 to 335
OL Cole Chinndell 280 to 312
OL Marcus Black 270 to 310
OL Justin Holloway 340 down to 325 to 340
DE Robert Tate 258 to 283
DE Joe Terrell 266 to 288
DE Chris Weiss 313 to 325
Spud Kenyatta Bimbo 213 to 245
                        DT Zaveri O'Born 250 to 285
Bandit Taylor Covington 260 to 273
                        Bandit Ty'Shall McBee 220 to 255
Bandit Aransu Seay 250 to 262

                        Notable Position Changes

There were a ton of position changes this offseason that will have the Noles looking vastly different in 2030. The biggest change was DB Detaro Levine. Now, its no secret, that when FSU recruits Defensive Backs, they recruit guys who mostly played Corner in High School, and cross train them to play various positions on FSU's defense. However, Levine was FSU's most productive Cornerback last season by a pretty wide margin. We see him now listed at Free (FS) in the projected Depth Chart. Now we understand with Super Freshman CB Ja'Carius Kidd being listed as the projected starter at Corner, it shuffled some things in the line-up. But with the change, it basically means every starting Defensive Back for FSU has played Cornerback either in High School or at FSU at some point which gives FSU a ton of advantages in the pass game.

Two other Notable position changes, were on defense. Former Defensive Ends, Kenyatta Bimbo and Aransu Seay have moved to their respective Linebacker positions. Seay struggled on the defensive line last year and saw his playing time decrease significantly throughout the year. However the former Rivals 100 prospect may have been moved to a position that better fits his skillset in this defense. As for Bimbo, he played sparingly last season mostly during passing downs. The Former Five-Star is playing the Spud linebacker position and is currently listed as the starter over Kyson Perry who had 15 starts at the position last season. Bimbo was pegged as one of the best pass rushers out of High School, so FSU hopes that he can give them that boost, although the Spud position require more coverage ability than Bandit. However, with Bimbo being a former Basketball player, playing in space shouldnt be much of an issue, which is possibly why he was moved there to begin with. We shall see how it works out.

On the Defensive Line, DL Chris Weiss, redshirted last season, but was listed and recruited as a DT. And with him packing on weight and being 325, most anticipated him to fight for playing time at the Nose Tackle spot. But with the Noles requiring bigger lineman, him playing DE isnt a total shock. He currently is the biggest DE on the roster, which is possibly what coach Cameel Verner wants more of.

                        Notable Position Changes

                        Chris Weiss DT to DE
                        Kenyatta Bimbo DE to OLB
                        Aransu Seay DE to OLB
                        Detaro Levine CB to FS
                        Colton Hathaway Ace to FS

The 2030 Season is here. And the first recruiting hotboard is now available for the kickoff to the new season. In honor of the "insta-commit" feature, those players are considered commitments in the Summer of the Off-Season similar to real life. So, with that said, let the new season begin.

                          2030 RECRUITING BOARD

                          HOUSE RULES

                          Spoiler

                          OFFENSE

FSU had one of the best Offenses in the nation a year ago. Led by Sophomore Quarterback Sarderrious Minter. This season, FSU returns all of its skill players that played a major role from last year. They lost a couple on the offensive line, but hope that a year later the OL will be much improved from last year. Here we showcase position by position the needs for the Offense.

QB: FSU currently has 4 QBs on its roster with former Four-Star B.J. McDaniel redshirting. FSU is set at this position for a couple of years, however taking one QB this class wouldnt be out the question.
                          Needs: 0 to 1

RB: FSU has 4 backs on the roster, all 4 bringing a different element to the backfield. However, Junior Kartrelle Gaither could possibly opt early for the NFL Draft.
                          Needs: 1 or 2

WR: FSU is completely stacked here. Possibly the best corps last season and they added even more talent this year headlined by Five-Star Orbit Jackson. FSU only has 1 upperclassman in this group.
                          Needs: 0

TE: With the 2 additions in last seasons recruiting class, FSU doesnt need much if at all here. The only upperclassman is a Junior.
                          Needs: 0

OL: FSU always wants to improve at this area either in the depth area, or talent. At Tackle, FSU has pretty good depth and talent, in the interior is where the question marks begins. FSU could possibly target some interior guys to bolster the roster.
                          Needs: 2 to 3

                          Current Commits:
QB Sha'dar Walker 6’2” 223 Carol City, FL
                          #2 QB, #8 Overall
Walker is an explosive athlete. He's a 4.3 runner, and really good on the run. He needs polishing in some areas of passing. But he reminds you of Sophomore QB Sarderrious Minter in regards to being a playmaker behind Center, but at this current stage is a much better passer.

DE Shawn Ray Butler 6’4” 260 Montgomery, AL
                          #3 DE, #22 Overall
Butler is a tweener that perfectly fits the FSU system. He can play both End and Spud/Bandit at the OLB position. He has decent speed, and excellent strength and burst off the edge. FSU may not have a specific position for him, but he can play in so many different spots he will be expected to be an impact guy in year one.

RB Kenterrick Shaw 6’2” 215 Clearwater, FL
                          #14 HB, #73 Overall
Its highly possible Kartrelle Gaither opts for the NFL Draft this year. Gaither is the powerback for the Noles, and they already have a replacement bruiser on deck. Shaw is a big back and a downhill runner that will fill the mold that Gaither will possibly leave behind.

                          OFFENSIVE TARGETS

RB Bo Banu 6’0” 215 Kissimmee, FL
                          #1 RB, #5 Overall
Why I want: A big shifty back elite back. Banu is a 4.5 guy and is an exoplosive and powerful runner.

WR JaChristian Anderson 6’6” 215 Pensacola, FL
                          #2 WR, #6 Overall
Why I want: He's a huge WR and is showing major interest. We have no need for a WR, but its hard to turn down a WR of this caliber.

                          T Synnquan Evans 6’7” 300 Cartersville, GA
                          #1 T, #2 Overall
Why I want: One of the best Offensive Lineman that we have ever scouted. He's tall, lean and mean. Hes easily a future first round Left Tackle that the NFL covets so much.

                          T.J. Powell 6’6” 321 Daytona Beach, FL
                          #2 T, #95 Overall
Why I want: FSU wants to improve its play upfront and Powell can definately attribute to that. Great size and motor, excellent athlete with a great SPARQ rating.

                          T Blaine Bonner 6’7” 312 Anadarko, OK

                          #10 T, #345 Overall
Why I want: Bonner with his strength and bench numbers and above average IQ shows me hes a versatile Lineman and could possible play on the interior if needed. We have had a lot of success moving Tackles to the inside.

                          G Dennis Carter 6’5” 321 Tamarac, FL
                          #7 G, #146 Overall
Why I want: Carter is a big interior lineman that also can play Center. Being better on the interior OL is a huge priority and we fill he can help us in that area.

                          G Lance DeRayer 6’7” 315 Hempstead, NY
                          #11 G, #212 Overall
Why I want: A tall rangy Lineman that can play 4 different spots on the offensive line. Getting a signature with him can allow us to get a player in many different areas of need all at once.

                          G Cedric Heath 6’6” 321 Easley, SC
                          #14 G, #255 Overall
Why I want: Theres a theme here with the interior lineman on the target board. Bigger. And Heath also brings a ton of size to the position. He is strictly a guard as he is not as athletic as the other guys on the board, but hes a road grader and FSU loves that about him.

                          G Mike Herpshire 653” 330 Jasper, IN

                          #20 TE, #376 Overall
Why I want: Herpshire gives FSU an interior guy that also can play Center. Hes versatile in that aspect that he gives FSU a guy that can play any spot on the interior.

                          G Jon Kagbagnu 6’5” 298 Naples, FL

                          #23 G, #386 Overall
Why I want: A Road Grader of an offensive lineman that excels in run blocking. Needs time to develop in the passing area of his game, but he will have plenty of time to learn and grow.

                          G Victor Jones 6'4” 330 Huntsville, AL

                          #35 G, #418 Overall
Why I want: FSU is recruiting him as a Center only.He can play guard, and is listed as one, but FSU only wants him as a center.

                          DEFENSIVE HOT BOARD

We run a 3-3-5 Defense and size is a premium up front especially on the Defensive Line. With FSU also being very multiple in some formations we need to continue to get Lineman and Pass Rushers who can do multiple things for us on defense for the defense to flourish.

                          Roles for this Defense:

                          BREAKDOWN
DE: Filled some good talent in this area but big bodies are always needed with the amount of games played in a season.
                          Need: 2 to 3

NT: Depth is pretty good here and we want to keep it that way.
                          Need: 1

Spud/Bandit(OLB) This is where our hybrid pass rushers and coverage specialist are required and we need depth badly in this area.
                          Need: 3 to 4

Mike: With a graduating Senior this year, This is a position that lacks depth.
                          Need: 2 to 3

Hawk: Maddox returns as the starter but depth and experience after him gets scarce.
                          Need: 2

Ace: We have built decent depth in this area , but an injury or two can really hurt here.
                          Need: 1 to 2

Corner: This is possibly the deepest position on the team in terms of talent, depth and experience.
                          Need: 1 to 2

Free A position thats very weak in depth needs help badly.
                          Need: 2

                          DEFENSIVE TARGETS

                          DE Jeff Branden 6’5” 245 Robinson,TX
                          #5 DE , #109 Overall
Why I want: Branden is a elite Pass Rusher. Brings size, and speed for his size to the field that we need.
The Plan: If we can land him, he would be a perfect fit for our Defense as he can play multiple spots. He can play both DE on passing downs or Spud on most downs. His size and ability allows him to see the field in multiple ways.

DE Alaadin Bouye 6’6” 245 Houma, LA
                          #2 DE , #25 Overall
Why I want: This guy is a crazy athlete. And an elite pass rusher which is what we need in the pass happy ACC that we play in.
The Plan: We need him at either Spud/Bandit. His athletic ability will be much needed and his pass rushing ability will be even more needed.

DE Mookie Maracle 6’3” 270 Panama City, FL
                          #12 DE , #30 Overall
Why I want: Mookie is an intruiging player. He has the size we want for an interior DE, however, he plays a lot faster than most DEs for his size. He doesnt have the lateral quickness to play Spud or Bandit, but he isnt a one trick pony DE either. He plays the run and pass extremely well.
The Plan: He literally can be an every down DE. He isnt a situational player. He fits the system well and can do a lot of things for us on the front line.

DE Christian Kaike'apona 6’2” 237 Thousand Oaks, CA
                          #4 DE , #55 Overall
Why I want: Kaike'apona is a very good pass rusher and is very athletic. Definately fits the Spud/Bandit positions for us.
The Plan: Spud would be the fit. Hes a heck of an athlete and putting him in space and letting him create havoc would be a welcomed sight for this Defense.

DE Radahl Naquin 6’5” 245 Mandeville, LA
                          #11 DE , #210 Overall
Why I want: Pass rushing. Naquin is a long lean athlete that can get after the Quarterback and in the ACC you cannot have enough of those guys.
The Plan: Spud is a good spot for him. Hes a big athlete and can move in space and get after the QB.

DE Bakari Brazille 6’6” 308 Americus, GA
                          #14 DE , #235 Overall
Why I want: Brazille is probably one of the biggest wants on the board. He has the exact size needed for the DE we look for. And the fact he is playing DE and not DT in high school is another welcomed sight.
The Plan: Easy. He will be a DE in this system and could very well possibly be an every down DE.

DE Jeff Branden 6’5” 262 Lake Wales, FL
                          #18 DE , #266 Overall
Why I want: Hes athletic and can play very well in space.
The Plan: Bandit. We can use him in space and allow him to also get after the QB.

                          DT Suri French 6’2” 322 Robinson,TX
                          #8 DT , #225 Overall
Why I want: We always need to keep big Nose Tackles in the frey.
The Plan: Nose. Hes big, stout and powerful.

DT Jevar Creysac 6’5” 290 Miami, FL
                          #9 DT , #231 Overall
Why I want: Hes a big physical and mean lineman. He has excellent size already to go along with elite athletic ability. At 290 pounds he runs a 4.8.
The Plan: Would be moved to DE. He really fits the bill as a big time DE that can really cause havoc in our system.

DT Justin Darois 6’7” 285 Zachary, LA
                          #12 DT , #285 Overall
Why I want: Darois is a very very strong kid. Has the size to play DE for us and do a good job at keeping the back end free.
The Plan: Would play DE for us in our system. He has the size and strength to play the edges and free up the back end players in space.

DT Tryll Narcoll 6’6” 265 Palm Bay, FL
                          #20 DT , #412 Overall
Why I want: Very underrated prospect. Plays OL and DT for his school, however he has off the charts athletic abilty. Off the charts.
The Plan: With his size and Athletic ability, moving him to DE would be extremely beneficial.

                          DT Chris Hawkins 6’5” 336 Savannah,GA
                          #21 DT, #431 Overall

Why I want: Another option at NT. Big bodied big framed guy who can probbably help us on the interior.
B]The Plan:[/B] at almost 340 pounds he is a perfect fit for us at Nose Tackle.

OLB James Boyd Jr 6’3” 218 Tampa, FL
                          #4 OLB , 124 Overall
Why I want: Athletic guy who can cover a lot of ground. Has good speed for his size and read and reacts pretty well.
The Plan: I believe Mike would be the best landing spot for him. Hes plays very well sideline to sideline and has great instincts.

CB Eric Igwe 6’2” 205 Monessen, PA
                          #1 CB , #11 Overall
Why I want: Bigger corneracks are what we love here. And Igwe is a big elite Corner.
The Plan: Igwe has a special skillset that allows him to play all 5 spots on the defense. If we are able to land him plug him where he's needed.

CB Marcus Johnson 6’2” 180 Ft. Walton Beach, FL
                          #4 CB, #52 Overall
Why I want: There arent many bigger corners in this class, luckily FSU has a shot at 2 of the bigger ones that have interest. Johnson can play Inside or outside at Corner and versatility is loved.
The Plan: Hawk could be his starting spot seeing that the outside Corner positions could be locked for a few years.

                          S Ra'shod Titus 6’4” 205 Jacksonville,FL
                          #1 S , #10 Overall
Why I want: Titus is a big rangy DB that is drooled upon in todays game. At 6'4 he has the size and length you want in a Safety in todays game.
The Plan: Titus could definately have an impact at Free that Judah Jackson did in his 3 years at FSU. Titus has great instincts, great speed and great length.

S Blake Boyson 6’1” 210 Ft. Elmwood Park, NJ
                          #2 S, #51 Overall
Why I want: Boyson is versatile. He can play all 5 DB spots on the defense.
The Plan: Boyson's versatility honestly doesnt allow you to lock him at one specific spot on defense. He can play so many different spots on the back end, you just have to work hard for his signature.

S Jamar Sykes 6’1” 215 Daytona Beach, FL
                          #2 CB, #60 Overall
Why I want: Sykes is a big hitting safety that brings attitude to any defense. He roams, can cover and brings a punch on his hits.
The Plan: Sykes could move to LB or play in the secondary if we are able to sign him.

S Markel Lee 6’6” 202 Ft. Northdale, FL
                          #4 S, #79 Overall
Why I want: Lee is a big DB. At 6'6" he moves extremely well and plays the ball in the air just as well as anyone and has an extreme knack of finding the football.
The Plan: If we are able to sign Lee he will be moved to the Spud position. His ability to cover and move in space will fit well in our system.

ATH David Grier 6’4” 208 Ft. Walton Beach, FL
                          #35 ATH, #167 Overall
Why I want: Grier has 4.5 speed and comes downhill and hits on defense. Offensively he plays WR and plays as well as anyone
The Plan: Grier is being recruited as a MLB for FSU. His speed and hitting ability makes him a good fit for that area.

UCF had a dissapointing season last year finishing 7-6. However, albeit not finishing in the Top 25 in recruiting, they were able to land Five-Star QB Devaris Russell (6'5" 200), who was announced the starter for UCF recently. Russell has been compared to the likes of Vince Young alot during his prep career. He was clocked running a 4.39, and in High School Russell ran for 2,000 yards his Senior season and passed for 3,000 with a total of 66 Touchdowns responsible for. His first test against the defending National Champs will be a tough test.

Last season, UCF was led by Junior TE Steve Morris (6'7" , 260) , and potential first round pick T Lee Hampton (6'8" , 295)

The Knights are undersized up front, but they pose a ton of speed to counteract that. DE Adam Simmons (6'4" 244) , DE Chris Lewis (6'4" 243) , DT Dennis Wright (6'5" 266) and DT Anthony Johnson (6'2" 290) lead the defensive front for the Knights. The Noles strength is their passing game, however, they may need to lean on the size of their Offensive Line to pound on the much smaller front of UCF.

All-ACC Corner Zach Parks(6'1" 188) is the leader of the defense for the Knights.

                                INJURIES

                                None.

                                SUSPENSIONS

                                None.
