    UP NEXT: VIRGINIA(1-1)
    12:00 PM/ET ESPN

The last time Florida State was in Charlottesville, they lost a heartbreaker to the Cavs 2 years ago 39-34. The Cavs enter the game at 1-1, with an overtime loss to PAC-12 opponent CAL 37-40 in their first game of the year. It's also the Cavs first home game of the season and the coaches are prepared for Charlottesville to be a very rowdy environment.

"We are definitely preparing for a hostile environment. It's always a tough place to play, and the last time we were there we came up short. We just have to put our best foot forward and play well." Said Head Coach Cameel Verner.

The Cavs finished last season at 8-4 and lost a ton of offensive production from two of their former WRs who were drafted in this year's NFL draft. UVAWR Randy Dukes returns as the top WR target for UVA, and so far this year has 185 yards and 2 TDs so far on the year.

True Freshman S Ryne Hill has been a stud for the Cavs in two games being the teams leading tackler and having two interceptions so far on the season.

Senior DT Jeremy McGee is the Cavs best overall player, and the leader of an extremely undersized front for the Cavs. Florida State will look to take advantage of the mismatch with Senior Robert Pryor at DE (6'1" ,235). RT Bob Martin will more than likely be matched up with Pryor (6'8" 335)

          UP NEXT: BAYLOR 0-2
          12:00 PM/ET ESPN

The third straight road game for Florida State will be in Texas as the Seminoles (4-0, 3-0 Conf) will take on Baylor (0-2, 0-0). The Baylor Bears who were ACC Champions 2 years ago, have had a very traumatic start to the season so far. Starting QB Maurice Pratt was injured in the first game of the year and was lost for the season, and backup QB Lance Smith was also injured in the same game. True Freshman and former Three-Star Jason Jacobs has resumed the role at QB for the Bears and so far he's struggled. The bears lost their opening game to UAB 45-37, and the following week lost to USF of the American Conference 31-10.

While Baylor struggles at QB, they have three draft eligible WRs that have returned this season with Ezequiel Harvey (6'0", 190) , Matt Nicholas (6'4" , 215) and Erik Leslie (5'10", 185).

The Bears are led by the teams leading tackler LB Clayton Jordan 6'3" 222, who also has led the Bears in tackle each of the last two seasons.

          DIXON EXPANDS ROLE

Dixon is second on the team with 3 interceptions and first with 2 defensive TDs

Sophomore Luron Dixon did not start the season as #1 on the depth chart. He was listed #2 "FREE" (FS), behind Redshirt Sophomore DB Colton Hathaway. However, Dixon has made a number of plays on Defense this year and the past 3 games has started at the FREE spot for the Noles.

" 'Lou' has shown tremendous playmaking ability for us on the back end. Has found a knack for the football and has displayed some good ball skills. He's been huge for this team in a number of different ways" said DC Tim Beckman

Dixon is second on the team in interceptions with (3), but also has 1 Fumble recovery and leads the team with 2 defensive touchdowns, including the game winner in Overtime vs Pitt with his pivotal pick 6.

"I'm just doing everything I can to help my team win and do what I can to contribute. I trust my teammates to have my back just like I have theirs and it makes things easier for me to just do what I do best." said Luron Dixon.

Dixon's speed is definitely the difference maker for the Seminoles as he helped the Noles get its first Track and Field championship in over a decade as he posted a 7.80m long jump for the Seminoles. Fellow teammates WR Sytavious Graham posted the 3rd fastest 200m time in FSU history at 20.10, while WR Orbit Jackson posted a 9.98 100m which tied for 4th fastest in FSU history. Dixon hopes that the football team can follow in the same footsteps this season.

"It would be nice to bring another championship home this year like in Track." he said "It's going to take a team effort though just like it did there. But I know my brothers are up for the challenge."

          ***BREAKING NEWS***

          High School Profile

Florida State will be without Return Specialist and RB/WR Sytavious "Pit" Graham due to a broken wrist suffered in practice. This is a deadly blow as Graham served the majority of the return duties for FSU, and has been a very good player at Running Back and WR for the Seminoles. On the season, Graham is #6 in the country in kick return average. On the season he has 8 carries for 58 yards (7.3 ypc) and 13 catches for 91 yards and 1 TD.

          High School Profile
Florida State has also learned they will be without starting Junior TE David Davis (6'5", 247) for an extended period of time as well as he is dealing with a high ankle sprain. Davis who had some off-field issues last season that kept him from seeing the field, has come on strong this season and has had no off-field issues and has been a big target for the Noles in the passing game. Davis has 11 catches for 135 yards on the year with 1 TD. Davis will be replaced with Sophomore Mikki Munday (6'6" 240). It's also possible we see Sophomore TE Oliver Whitehead (6'3", 245) as well as True Freshman T.J. Thomas (6'4",230)

          INJURIES

WR Sytavious Graham - Broken Wrist - 6 weeks (Max of Season Ending)
TE David Davis - High Ankle Sprain - 2 to 3 weeks.

              UP NEXT: WISCONSIN (2-1)
              ACC VS AAC

The Noles take on the Badgers this week at home after being upset on the road at Baylor. If not for a touchdown with 5 seconds to go in the game, the Noles would have lost by double digits to an unranked team for the first time in the Cameel Verner era.

"One game can not define our season. Thats the message we've had to implement this week. We have to continue to move forward and fix the things we are able to fix. We did not play our best last weekend, but we have a chance to correct a ton of errors that plagued us and hopefully continue to build on them. As coaches, we also have to do a better job of preparing our kids." said Head Coach Cameel Verner

The two time defending champion Seminoles slide down from #1 to #10 in this weeks rankings after the upset. But Verner insists that he isnt worried about where the Noles currently sit in the rankings almost midway through the season.

"Control what we can control. None of that stuff matters. When you prepare, and control what you can control on the field, that type of stuff works its self out" he said.

The Noles come in this week vs a Wisconsin team that loves to run the football.RB Josh Woods is the leading rusher for the Badgers and is a huge back at 6'2" 234 that really helps the run game for the Badgers. Wisconsin's only lost was to American Conference foe #3 Ohio State 31-34 last week.

WR Donta Frazier is the leading WR for the Badgers as he has 11 catches for 124 yards and 3 TDs last week in Wisconsin's AAC Conference Season opener.

Defensively, Wisconsin has a Defensive Line that could possibly plague the Noles. DE Susa Bahan (6'3", 253) a former Georgia Tech commit who opted for the Badgers after Cameel Verner accepted the FSU position has been on an absolute tear this season as he leads the NCAA in sacks with 7.5 in 3 games.

LB Anthony Turner (6'3" 242) is the leading tackler for Wisconsin as well as American Conference All American DB Gabe Gaines (6'3" 215) is the leads the secondary for the Badgers. Even with Gaines in the secondary, Wisconsin ranks last in the conference in passing defense. And with the receivers of FSU, that might be something they would like to expose.

              Official Visitors

The Seminoles host a number of Blue Chip official visitors this weekend vs the Badgers in a Primetime matchup. The Nation's top Cornerback Thomas Spiller will be making his second official visit this season as he visited Alabama last weekend. DB Shemar Simpson also will travel to Tallahassee this weekend.

              ***BREAKING NEWS***

Florida State is dealing with a number of injuries after going through five straight games this season as it finally approaches its bye week after this weekends game vs Wisconsin. FSU has reported that backup Offensive Lineman Ken Moore will be out 2-3 weeks nursing a groin injury. Starting Guard Anthony Branch will be out this week with a concussion, and Backup Tackle Marcus Kirby will be out this week with concussion symptoms as well.

On defense, reserve Linebacker Zel'Arius Wilson will miss this weeks game with an injured shoulder. But the biggest news of the day is starting Nose Tackle Angelo Jackson will miss 2-3 weeks as he nurses a strained pectoral.

Jacksons injury serves as a huge blow as he has been FSU's most disruptive lineman through 5 games. Jackson has 17 tackles, 5 TFL with 4 sacks. Former Five-Star NT David McNeil-Days will serve as his replacement, while True Freshman Suri French will serve as the backup NT.

              INJURIES

Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)

                  BYE WEEK

The Noles six games in have finally reached their much needed bye week, and the timing couldnt be better. The Noles started the season ranked #2 behind Georgia Tech, and eventually moved up to #1 in folllowing weeks prior to two straight losses to unranked Baylor and unranked Wisconsin. For the first time in Head Coach Cameel Verner's coaching career, he has lost two straight games to unranked opponents while being ranked.

"The last two games have been rough, but once again we have to control what we can control. We still have another half of the season to play. We can't go backwards and change things. We can only fix what we can moving forward, and thats what the plan is. We are going to let our kids recharge, regroup and get them ready for the rest of the year. It's a marathon not a sprint" Coach Verner said.

                  MIDSEASON PRAISES

The Noles are now sitting at 4-2 on the year at #16 in the country. But there are a few players that have played at a very high level for the Seminoles so far this season. There are a few notes that we have compiled that highlight some of the good things we've seen so far from the 2x defending national champions.

1.David Grier is a Superstar in the Making

True Freshman David Grier was a question mark coming into the season. The 6'4"210 pound Middle Linebacker was a High School Reciever just this time last year. But the coaches felt that his best position once he stepped on campus was at Middle Linebacker. His slight frame raised questions if he would be able to have the physical prowess, and instincts to play that position at a very high level. So far 6 games in, he is one of the best players on the defense. He is second on the team in tackles with 47, with two interceptions to go along with it. He has provided excellent run support, and has been very good in coverage. He is extremely athletic, and it's paid dividends for the Noles at this point. Defensive Coordinator Tim Beckman raved about the upside of his True Freshman Linebacker...

"Size aside, Grier has been spectacular so to this point for us. He's a high energy guy, just Natural. We didnt think his size would be much of a concern, because he always found a knack to the football in practices. He's one heck of a competitor" he said.

                  2. QUARTERBACKS HAVE POTENTIAL

All three Quarterbacks for Florida State have completed over 70% of their passes this year. Which is a remarkable stat. Freshman Sha'Dar Walker has shown a lot of potential even though it's clear he is way behind the curve on knowing the Playbook fully. But he is a ticking timebomb waiting to explode on any given play. He's the teams second leading rusher with 299 yards on the ground with 4 TDs.

Up until the past two weeks, Redshirt Sophomore Clay Tillman was a potential Heisman candidate. But his performances against Baylor and Wisconsin may have dwindled that talk some. But his number albeit the losses and play recently are among the nations best.

                  3. The Recievers are electric

The Seminoles currently have four Receivers with over 400 yards midway through the season. Jamar Reid (481), Kennard Thomas (402) and Orbit Jackson (415) are all atop the conference in yards. It's no question that the Seminoles still have electric athletes and Wide Outs on the field.

                  MIDSEASON WOES

It was hard to point out a lot of the good things the Noles have with recent losses to unranked opponents. But the bad things certainly stand out more. But there are some things FSU can certainly clean up on.

                  OFFENSIVE LINE STILL PLAGUES NOLES

The Noles have appeared to have found their savior in true Freshman Tackle Synquann Evans who has not given up a sack in his Collegiate Career as of yet. However, the interior line of Florida State is now it's achilles heel, and Bob Martin has been extremely spotty at the right tackle spot. The Noles had appeared to have found some stability when they started Redshirt Freshman Anthony Branch over Junior Sanderson Hall, but when Branch was injured and Hall re-entered the lineup, the issues plagued the Noles once again.

"We havent been consistent on the line as much as we've liked. And our Quarterbacks have been playing very well but if we cannot protect them then we have bigger issues. So that's where we are right now. Finding out what works best for us and our team and getting better in that area." said verteran Offensive Line Coach Harry Hiestand.

                  2.QUARTERBACK ?

This is a tough one for us to analyze. Because the past two games without Anthony Branch, the line has taken some steps backwards. And in those two games, Clay Tillman just has not looked himself. Tillman has 10 turnovers in the last two games(5 int, 5 fumbles) which is basically unheard of. Even if the line gets better the Noles have to find a way to take care of the football.

The only other option would be Redshirt Freshman B.J. McDaniel who had a stellar performance against Pitt in their overtime win. And it's clear Freshman Sha'Dar Walker has yet to fully develop the playbook. The emergency option would be moving Running Back Sarderrious Minter back to his Heisman Trophy winning position at QB, but that is highly unlikely as Minter is having a solid campaign as the Noles leading rusher at RB and averaging 4.9 yards per carry.

PASS RUSH IS INEXISTENT AT TIMES

In the Offseason, the Noles wanted to get better up front in the pass rush area. But the Noles best pass rushers coming into the 2031 Season just have not played up to par. Junior DE/LB Kenyatta Bimbo and Zaveri O'Born only have two sacks a piece so far this year after both finished in the top 10 in sacks last season. With the pass happy teams in the ACC, its definitely something that might need to be addressed as the Noles rank 3rd to last in the ACC in pass rush efficiency.

                    ESPN 3:30 PM/ET

The Seminoles are back in action this week after having its first bye week of the season. The Noles enter the week 4-2, ranked #13 in the country after moving up during its bye week.

"I feel like the off week gave us the mental break we needed. The guys seem a bit more energetic and recharged. And it's a good sight because it's still a long season ahead of us with all of our goals we set before the year still at reach." said Head Coach Cameel Verner

The Noles are tasked to take on a Louisville team who's won two in a row going into the week at home. QB Tez Hansen (6'2" , 216) is the playmaker for the Cardinals so far this season with 11 touchdowns to 5 interceptions. But also is the leading rusher in touchdowns for the Cardinals with 4. WR Clarence Parker returns for his Senior season and has been the leading catcher for Louisville so far this season.

On Defense, the Cardinal is led by All-ACC Defensive End Tony Lewis who is second in the ACC currently in sacks with 8. The Noles have had its fair share of issues up front against elite Defensive Lines so far, and this week will be no different at all. Defensive Coordinator had a lot to say about the All-ACC DE.

"He plays very hard, has a non stop motor. He never gives up. He's one heck of a player and he really, really jumps out at you on film" he said.

Although the Cardinal sit at 2-3 on the season, they have the #9 ranked total defense in the country. And they rank #8 in sacks.

"Our offense has been challenged all week. We know what we have ahead of us, and this is one heck of a defense that is traveling to us. We've got our hands full but we just have to put our big boy pants on and be ready to play." said Head Coach Cameel Verner.

B.J. McDaniel Will Get Start vs UL

Head Coach Cameel Verner announced today that Redshirt Freshman B.J. McDaniel will get the start this weekend vs Louisville instead of Redshirt Sophomore Clay Tillman. In his first start of his career earlier this season vs Pitt, he finished the game 33/42 for 392 yards and 4 TDs.

"He's done everything we've asked of him, and he's done all the little things right. He's checked all the boxes this week and thats the route we are going" said Offensive Coordinator Tommy Bowden.

                    ***RECRUITING NEWS***

The Noles did not win at home vs Wisconsin last weekend, but they got 2 huge commitments last week after the game. The Noles nabbed pledges from Five Star RB Vontae Marshall and Four-Star WR Shebazz Blades.

RB Vontae Marshall 5’11” 191 Marietta, GA
                    #1 RB , #4 Overall

Very shifty and a blazer. Set the Georgia State record in the 100m hurdles. Might be the fastest back of the 2032 class. A homerun threat by every stretch of the imagination.

WR Shebazz Blades 6’5” 190 Tampa, FL
                    #37 WR , #137 Overall

A very big vertical threat. Adds to the size of the WRs already on the roster. Isn't a blazer, but wins a lot of deep balls due to his size and vertical ability. Very athletic with a huge catch radius.

The Seminoles travel to Winston-Salem this weekend after an impressive victory against Louisville after falling two straight in prior games. Even with the losses, the Noles still control their own destiny in the ACC with just one conference loss. Florida State Head Coach Cameel Verner continues to remind his team of what's at stake.

"We still can accomplish the goals we had at the beginning of the season. It may not be the route we wanted to take but thats how life is sometimes. Control what you can control. We've had an amazing week of preparation and we as coaches just have to continue to put our guys in the best position to win. " he said.

The Noles take on Wake Forest who started the season 1-3 and is now sitting at 3-3, with Senior QB Garrett Evans (6'5", 228) starting under center for the Demon Deacons. He's 85/150 1101 yards and 10 TDs on the year but also has 9 interceptions to go along with it. The Noles will have to account for star running back Junior Cameron Flores whos averaging 5.6 yards per carry this season.

"They have a very dynamic offense with a Running Back who in my opinion could be a high round draft pick. He can run, he can move, he's elusive. We definitely will have our hands full and we have to prepare our kids the best way we know how." said DC Tim Beckman.

MCDANIEL TO GET 3RD CAREER START

The Noles will yet again go to the arm of Redshirt Freshman B.J. McDaniel who had a perfect 17/17 326 yard 4 TD game last week at home vs the Louisville Cardinal.

"He continues to do the small things that we feel helps us win. So we will go with him this week against Wake Forest and continue to analyze the best situation possible for our team." said Head Coach Cameel Verner.

The Noles still will continue to use packages for True Freshman Sha'dar Walker as they have all season long.

The Noles had some very good news last week in receiving pledges from Five-Star RB Vontae Marshall, and Four-Star WR Shebazz Blades, the Noles got even more good news this week getting a pledge from Five-Star WR Darcy Miller.

WR Darcy Miller 5’11” 190 Baltimore, MD
                        #1 WR , #2 Overall
One of the most dynamic players in the country in space. Is extremely explosive and shifty. Nike Sparq Camp Miller posted a 4.36/40. Being such a dynamic player with the ball in his hands, he plays mostly QB for his high school team, but has shown exceptional hands in his Sophomore year prior to former Four-Star QB Myles Panchard going to Penn State.

                        Breakdown
Miller was a huge pick up for the Seminoles for a variety of reasons. With Five-Star RB Vontae Marshall in the fold, along with RB Nic Silva-Bendera, the Noles once again have racked up on a ton of speed forming a three headed speed monster on the offensive side of the ball. Marshall owns the Georgia State record in the 100m hurdles, while Silva-Bendera is a 4.3 runner in his own right also.

Cameel Verner Jr has continued to rack up a weapons that bring different dynamics to the Seminoles offense and Miller is the prized possession of the cupboard.

                            UP NEXT: #23 SYRACUSE (7-1)

After a bye week last week, the Noles are set to travel to Syracuse, NY to play for first place in the ACC Atlantic Division. Syracuse 7-1 (4-0) in conference play owns first place currently. However, if FSU wins on the road, Florida State will own the tie-breaker from beating Syracuse Head to Head. The Noles (6-2) moved up to #4 in the Polls this week, so they also have College Football Playoff implications on the line as well. Syracuse's only loss this season was to an unranked Wyoming team at home.

"We have a very tough task at hand this weekend on the road. Syracuse is playing very well. They have athletes all over the field. We have to have to mentally prepare this week and be ready for a battle. Syracuse is a disciplined team, and they are playing absolutely well in both the air and ground." said Head Coach Cameel Verner.

Syracuse is led by Redshirt Junior TE Brian Martin (6'4", 255) is currently the NCAA's leading Tight End reciever, and is currently Syracuse's leading overall recevier with 841 yards on the season. On the ground, RB Todd Ross is averaging 7.1 yards per carry for the Orange as well.

"Martin is a heck of a player. One heck of a player. I can tell you this, we've spent a lot of time watching tape on him and it seems like the tape is endless. We've got a heck of a task in front of us with him." Said DC Tim Beckman.

CLAY TILLMAN RETURNS TO STARTING ACTION

Tillman returns to FSU this week as the starting QB after being the backup to Redshirt Freshman B.J. McDaniel for the past two weeks as Tillman helped the Noles in it's victory on the road against Wake Forest, finishing 10/17 131 yards 1 TD.

"We will start out with Clay this week, and continue to analyze the situation we have at Quarterback and do what's best for our team from there" Said Head Coach Cameel Verner.

                            BREAKING RECRUITING NEWS

The Seminoles currently sit at #2 right now in the 2032 recruiting class with a bunch of speed on the horizion, with the #1 Running Back Class in the country as well. Well during the bye week, the Noles got good news from two commitments of need. One from the son of former Seminole great Marion Whitehead Sr, ATH Marion Whitehead Jr pledged his commitment tot he Seminoles. Marion's nephew Oliver Whitehead is a Sophomore TE on the roster for the Seminoles currently as well.

The other, from freakish athletic pass rusher ATH Chris Davis from Miami, FL. Davis selects FSU over offers from Georgia Tech and Miami. While listed as an athlete, Davis is being recruited as a DE for the Seminoles.

ATH Marion Whitehead 6’6” 222 Monroe, LA
                            #177 CB, #13 Overall

Why I want: His dad is an FSU legacy, and his brother Oliver Whitehead is already on board at FSU as a TE. Marion just like his dad who was an All American at FSU as a LB can also play the LB spot and is extremely athletic being a three sport star.
The Plan: Could play a number of different positions on the defense.

                            Breakdown
Whitehead is an FSU legacy with his dad being an 2 time All American at FSU and is currently 5th on FSU's all time sack list while playing DE. The younger Whitehead provides a bit more athletic ability as he can play standup DE, Linebacker or conventinal Defensive End. He has natural burst, and athletic ability.

ATH Chris Davis 6'6" 217 Miami, FL
                            #19 ATH , #260 Overall
Why I want: Davis albeit being 6'6" runs a sub 4.5/40, and can play mostly anywhere.
The Plan: He has unreal burst as an edge rusher but is athletic enough to play Linebacker.

                            Breakdown

Chris Davis was a huge get because the Noles have lacked a consistent pass rush this season and Davis can immediately help in that role. He is undersized and may need a year or so to develop his body, however his burst is unmatched. So he could definitely be used on obvious passing downs to help with the edge pass rush that the Noles desperately lack thus far this season.

                                UP NEXT: NC STATE (4-5)

                                12:00 PM/ET ESPN

The Noles sit atop the Atlantic Divison at 7-2 on the year with two conference games remaining. The NC State Wolfpack will travel to Tallahassee in an attempt to play spoiler for the Noles ACC Championship aspirations, and also National Championship hopes. The Wolfpack are also fighting for a chance to become bowl eligible this late in the season as well. And Head Coach Cameel Verner, Sr. is well aware of the threat the Wolfpack poses albeit their record.

"They are hungry. This is a huge game for them. They want to be bowl eligible and they are going to give us their best shot. We have to have a great week of preparation and have our kids ready." he said.

The Wolfpack sit at 4-5 on the season and are currently on a 3 game losing streak. Redshirt Junior QB Titus Rivas has been the one bright spot on the year for the Wolfpack although he's completing 48% of his passes, hes thrown for 1503 yards and 19 TDs to just 7 interceptions on the year. He's also the teams leading rusher with 574 yards (4.9 ypc).

"They have a dangerous Quarterback. We all know this. This guy will definitely be playing on Sundays. He's the head of that train over there, and we definitely have to take care of buisness with him in order to have a chance. He's tough as nails. " said Defensive Coordinator Tim Beckman.

                                ZAVERI O'BORN REBORN?

As a True Freshman, Zaveri O'Born was the Nation's sack leader. His numbers dipped a bit as a Sophomore due to his demand of double teams, but still led the Nation in QB Hurries. This season, his numbers have dipped in both categories in the first part of the year. But as of late, O'Born has returned to his true form.

The Former Five-Star Defensive Lineman who raved comparisons to Aaron Donald due to his size and quickness (6'0" 280), plays all over the Defensive Line for the Seminoles.

"We've been thrilled to see the way he's been playing as of late. He's returned to his dominant ways recently and it's come at a very important time as well. " Said Defensive Coordinator Tim Beckman.

In the game vs Syracuse, O'Born finished the game with 3 tackles, 3 tackles for loss and 2 sacks, including the Sack that sealed the game vs Syracuse last weekend. On the season, O'Born has 30 tackles, 10 for loss with 4 sacks on the year.

                                #1 QB , #3 Overall

It has been noted by Rivals.com analyst Derrick Woodrow that interest between Five-Star Quarterback Terry Washington of Forest Grove, OR has heated up. Florida State is looking to schedule a Official Visit with him within the next few weeks. Apparently, the interest is mutual. Washington has been on official visits to Oregon and USC as of late with 3 visits left to schedule. Apparently, he would like to leave the West Coast. Florida State has struggled at the Quarterback position this season and that is appealing to Washington. The only issue is Sha'Dar Walker who is also a True Freshman has shown promise this season as well in limited action. We will continue to monitor this story as it develops.
