    COACHING CHANGES

    OC Tommy Bowden Retires
The Florida State Offensive Coordinator for the past 4 years has decied to retire as OC of the Noles. Head Coach Cameel Verner spoke on the decision to retire on Monday.

"Tommy has been nothing but the best for this university. We wish him the best on his retirement. He's put a lasting impression on this program. " he said.

DC Tim Beckman hired by Boston College

Boston College has announced that Florida State Defensive Cooridnator Tim Beckman will be their new Head Coach. For the last 3 seasons, Beckman was the DC for the Noles including the two back to back National Championships. Boston College, currently in the Big 10, will bring his Florida connections he developed at FSU to the forefront in recruiting as he had a lot of influence for FSU's last two defensive classes.

"I enjoyed my 3 years at Florida State. I have the upmost respect for Cameel Verner and that entire organization. They ultimately helped me grow as a coach, and ultimately as a man. " Beckman said.

Florida State hires Ex-QB Hayden Kiser for OC

    >
Hayden Kiser played under Cameel Verner from 2024-2026.

Hayden Kiser has been announced by the school as its new Offensive Coordinator. Kiser played for Cameel Verner, Sr at Georgia Tech from 24'-'26. He was a Five-Star recruit from Humble, TX. After his career at Georgia Tech, Kiser went on to play for the Chicago Bears for 3 years as he was selected as a 3rd round pick. Kiser was a 2 year starter for the Yellow Jackets as he battled injuries for most of his career, but did lead Georgia Tech to a Championship his final season there. While with the Bears, he suffered numerous injuries before ultimately retiring from the NFL early.

Cameel Verner is no stranger to hiring former players as Coordinators or Assistants. While the Head Coach at Georgia Tech, he hired former Collegiate teammate Matteo Sledge to be his OC at GT. Sledge is now currently the Head Coach at Georgia Tech and has won 2 national titles as a Head Coach in Atlanta. At the time, Sledge had no coaching experience but now he's considered one of the top coaches in the country.

"We are thrilled to have Kiser as our Offensive Coordinator. He will also serve as Quarterbacks Coach as well. We feel he can help develop our young men and we are excited about his future within this program." said Head Coach Cameel Verner.

Florida State hires GA Ryan Dukes as Defensive Coordinator

Unlike Kiser, Dukes was not highly recruited as a player. He was a walk-on Safety for the Seminoles, and also served as a Graduate Assistant for the last two seasons. Today Verner announced Dukes will now be the Defensive Coordinator for the Seminoles.

    PLAYERS LEAVING

Several players have already declared for the NFL draft as we already noted prior to the Peach Bowl against Ohio. As of today as slew of Seminoles have decided their future with the team.

The Noles will lose more underclassmen to the NFL Draft than any other school in the country. The majority of the class though however, played a major role in turning the program around upon the arrival of Cameel Verner Jr. They all have played as True Freshman and have plenty of film for NFL Scouts. The only players that might have helped their stock by returning for a Senior year would've been RB Zaleel Hamby, and WR Benito Tipton. Both players were shadowed by elite players at their position. However, Hamby's receiving skills as a Running Back has NFL scouts drooling. As a Freshman he amassed 763 yards receiving. Tipton's stock rose a bit after seeing him explode in the Peach Bowl as he was the #1 receiver for the first time in his college career. Both guys will need an impressive showing at the NFL Combine, however.

    RECRUITING NEWS

The Noles are still in it for a number of recruits for signing day including QB Terry Washington of Forest Grove, OR. A number of unsigned prospects remaining are planning on visiting Florida State in January before eary signing day.

    Recruiting Notes

Whats the news on QB Terry Washington?

Washington is the #3 overall player in the class of 2032

Washington is a late target in the process in this class. He has shown serious interest in joining Florida State and with the struggles FSU had this past season, the interest is mutual. Washington is in the process of scheduling an Official Visit in January to Tallahassee prior to signing day.

Another late addition on the interior

Landry is scheduled to take Official Visit to Tallahassee before Signing Day.

Another late addition is Camden, NJ DT Martel Landry. With the early departure of Angelo Jackson, the Noles have a need for another Nose Tackle. Landry is a very big guy who has been flying under the radar that fit's the Noles odd-front scheme. At 6'6" 350, he would immediately fit the bill as a NT and add to the depth. He doesn't have many big time offers as the Noles battle Buffalo, Central Michigan, and Idaho for his services.

    CURRENTLY COMMITTED

    RB Nic Silva-Bendera 5’8” 185 Jacksonville, FL
WR Shebazz Blades 6’5” 190 Tampa, FL

ATH Marion Whitehead 6’6” 222 Monroe, LA

In the off-season you tend to expect attrition especially when programs like Florida State have a lot of talent. The Noles havent gotten any news of potential transfers into the program just yet, but a couple of players have definitely announced their intentions of leaving the Florida State program.

Freshman Kenterrick Shaw enters Transfer Portal

    RB Kenterrick Shaw:USF

Shaw Redshirted this past season at Florida State and did not see any action as a Freshman. However, the Tampa, FL native has enetered the transfer portal and will enroll closer to home at USF.

Senior Barcelo Williams enters Transfer Portal

    WR Barcelo Williams:UAB

Barcelo Williams spent his first 3 years at Florida State primarily as a returner. He does have 1 career touchdown on special teams as a punt returner and has a career total of 9 catches but two touchdowns as a Freshman. He will finish his collegiate career in Birmingham, AL at UAB. Last season, two other Seminoles transferred to UAB in Center Marcus Lamb, and Offensive Tackle Kevin Lewis. Lamb did not play last season as he sat out last season per NCAA rules, however Lewis had a very good Junior season as he was allowed to play due to appeal. He will be a Senior this season.

LB RASHAUN BRITTON ENTERS TRANSFER PORTAL

    LB Rashaun Britton: Oklahoma State

Rashaun Britton enjoyed success as a Freshman in a backup role. As a Freshman he had 51 tackles and a sack. This season, he saw his role diminish as Freshman David Grier took over the Mike position and had 117 tackles, 3 sacks and 2 interceptions on the season. Britton struggled in coverage which is a reason that Grier saw more playing time as the season progressed. Britton finished the season with 33 tackles 4 for loss in a reserve role.

Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)

      NFL SCOUTING COMBINE

      RB Zaleel Hamby - 6'1" 231
      40 Time:4.52
      Vertical:38"
      Bench Press: 16 reps

Overall Impression: Hamby absolutely dazzled in the receiving drills, as most thought he would. During his career, he impressed more with his ability to catch out of the backfield than he did running the ball. He has a very huge frame, and his 40 time may have earned him more money.

      WR Benito Tipton - 6'1" 212
      40 Time: 4.47
      Vertical: 40"
      Bench Press: 15

Overall Impression: If anyone needed a very good Combine, it was Tipton. He never was considered a number one WR at FSU, but his combine proved why he was a Five-Star coming out of High School at the very least. One scout stated that he easily is the best route runner at the combine.

      DE/DT Zaveri O'Born 6'0", 285
      40 Time: 4.84
      Vertical: 27"
      Bench Press: 24

Overall Impression: O'Born is an undersized tweener. Much like Aaron Donald. He does have film playing all over the Defensive Line, and does have 34.5 sacks for his career to his credit. He was explosive in the combine during drills, but of course size is a concern.

      RB Sarderrious Minter - 6'3", 241

      40 Time: 4.37
      Vertical: 37"
      Bench Press: 25
Overall Impression: The former Heisman Trophy winner posted a surprising 4.37. He did great in both running back and receiving drills as well. Scouts are high on his ability.

      DT Angelo Jackson - 6'3", 335

      40 Time: 4.91
      Vertical: 24
      Bench Press: 34

Overall Impression: Jackson wasn't very highly recruited out of High School, but right now he's extremely sought after by NFL teams. At 335 pounds, a 4.91 does wonders.

      DE/LB Taylor Covington - 6'3", 265
      40 Time: 4.61
      Vertical: 39"
      Bench Press: 30

Overall Impression: Covington running a 4.61 at 265 pounds definitely turned heads. He showed he has the speed to play OLB in odd fronts, and has the strength and leverage to play End in even fronts. The Combine helped his stock tremendously.

      WR Jamar Reid - 6'3", 215
      40 Time: 4.42
      Vertical: 45"
      Bench Press: 16

Overall Impression: At 6'3", the 45" vertical is what has scouts dancing. His tape of course will wow anyone. But his numbers backed up everything. He was a projected 1st Rounder prior to the Combine, he just solidified that.

      WR Kennard Thomas - 6'3", 190
      40 Time: 4.36
      Vertical: 38"
      Bench Press: 13

Overall Impression: Thomas was the deep threat for the Seminoles for three years. He never had more than 50 catches in a season, but he most definitely stretched the field for the Noles and always had to be accounted for. At 6'3", a 4.36 most definitely helped his stock.

      DE/LB Kenyatta Bimbo - 6'7", 248
      40 Time: 4.55
      Vertical: 41"
      Bench Press: 24

Overall Impression: The slender framed tweener really needed the Combine to help his draft stock. He finished last season tied for first in sacks on the team with 9.5. He can get after the Quarterback but being able to stuff the run as a DE or 3-4 OLB will be the question.

      LB Kyson Perry - 6'5", 265
      40 Time: 4.44
      Vertical: 41.5"
      Bench Press: 33

Overall Impression: Perry easily might have had the best combine of anyone. At 265 pounds, he posted a 4.44 forty time. He is a freakish athlete that saw his draft stock sky rocket.

      DB J.D. Davis - 6'1", 202
      40 Time: 4.43
      Vertical: 38"
      Bench Press: 17

Overall Impression: Davis was considered a 1st round pick before the combine and he checked all the combine numbers to maintain that thinking.

      DB Isaac Boles - 6'3", 200
      40 Time: 4.57
      Vertical: 36"
      Bench Press: 13

Overall Impression: Most thought Boles should have come back for one more year, and he might have hurt his stock by a underwhelming Combine performance. His first two years at FSU were pretty good but last season wasn't his strongest effort.

Quite possibly...I think the Cowboys might have gotten that award getting an elite pass rusher in round 4 personally. But Miami definitely got a damn good versatile DB that can play any DB position.

The Nike Sparq All-America game is just around the corner. The best High School athletes in the country will face off in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. We will highlight players to watch in todays game.

            TEAM ELITE v TEAM PRIMETIME

            TEAM PRIMETIME

QB Terry Washington 6’3” 205 Forest Grove, OR

Team Primetime features the #1 Quarterback in the country and #3 overall player in Terry Washington. Washington currently is down to a final 3 of FSU, LSU and Missouri. He's made it pretty evident he's leaving the West Coast. So far in his Senior season, Washington has rewritten the state record books in Oregon. He finished his career with 22,415 passing yards 6,104 rushing yards and 204 touchdowns.

RB Vontae Marshall 5'11” 190 Atlanta, GA FSU COMMIT

Florida State commit Vontae Marshall, might be the fastest player in the game. He's a 10.2 100 meter guy, and is the all time rushing leader in the state of Georgia. His statline of 8 carries 434 yards 8 Touchdown performance in the state playoffs is still the craziest statline we've ever seen.

LB Kenrell Davis 6’4” 226 Winter Park, FL

One of the Seminoles top remaining uncomitted targets is ATH Kenrell Davis who will be playing Linebacker in today's game. Davis is down to Florida State, Florida and Notre Dame. Kenrell's cousin, a FSU Commit, Chris Davis is also playing in this game as well at DE.

ATH Marion Whitehead 6’6” 220 Monroe, LA FSU COMMITT

The son of legacy All-American Linebacker Marion Whitehead, will play both LB and DE in this game. At 6'6", he has the range like his dad (6'7") did when he played at Florida State. The question is would he be more suited to play Linebacker or DE at FSU.

Other Noles Commits or Targets on Team Primetime:
            DE Chris DavisCommit
            CB Thomas Spiller
            WR Shabazz BladesCommit

            TEAM ELITE

WR Darcy Miller 5’11” 190 Baltimore, MD FSU COMMIT

While Marshall might be the fastest in the game, It could be arguable that Miller is the most electric. The #2 player in the country is just that for a reason. Any time he touches the ball, hes a threat to score.

            S Shemar Simpson 6’2” 216 Immokalee, FL

Shemar Simpson is a Defensive Back thats currentlyon FSU's radar that they still want. He is athletic enough to play both back-end DB spots. He's down to Florida State, Miami, and Georgia Tech.

Other Targets or Commits on Team Elite
            QB Ko'Dallas Avery
            RB Nic Silva-BenderaCommit
            LB Kevin Atkins
            DT Damba Bolden

NIKE SPARQ HIGH SCHOOL ALL AMERICAN GAME

              NOLES TARGETS AND COMMITS SHINE

The Noles were represented well in the 4th annual Nike Sparq All-American game. The highest rated Seminole in the game was Darcy Miller, rated the #2 overall player and #1 WR and he shined his brightest. Miller led all recievers in the game with 5 catches for 142 yards and 3 touchdowns. He proved why he is so electric and such a playmaker. He was virtually uncoverable for any Primetime DB.

              KO'DALLAS AVERY PROVES HIS WORTH

Ko'Dallas Avery seemed to be a forgotten man in the recruiting cycle with all the hype surrounding the possibility of QB Terry Washington. Avery impressed and checked every major box in tonights game. He went 8-9 87 yards with 2 Touchdowns. Avery showed he was more than just an athlete, he actually can play the Quarterback position well.

              DAMBA BOLDEN PROVES #1 RANKING

The #1 Player in the country proved why he is the #1 player. He dominated the entire game and would not let the Offensive Line get any breaks. Bolden had 4 sacks on the game and just completely changed the line of scrimmage from the first snap. Bolden has listed Georgia Tech as his leader. FSU is still in contact with him for his services but it currently looks as if the West Coast Defender is headed to Atlanta.

TERRY WASHINGTON STRUGGLES BUT SHOWS PROMISE

Washington did not impress as much as we thought, but mostly because DT Damba Bolden could not be blocked. Washington was under duress the majority of the night. But when he had more than just a split second to throw he most defintely impressed. Washington still has Florida State in it's Top 3 and will make his final decision on Signing Day.

              ATH KENRELL DAVIS IMPRESSED

The 6'4" 226 pound Athlete from Winter Park, FL played Linebacker in the All-American game and was the games leading tackler with 8 on the day. He's a pure athlete and honestly has the ability to play Safety. He covers very well and covers a lot of ground as well. Davis is down to Georgia Tech, Florida State and Miami.

Stay tuned as we will have a lot more coverage prior to signing day.

Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)

For the first time in Cameel Verner's tenure at Florida State. He did not finish with the #1 class. In fact, this is Verner's first class in 9 years his recruiting class did not finish first. The Nole's completed the 2032 recruiting cycle with the # 2 ranked class, and had probably the best signing day of any school this year. The Noles were able to nab 8 Signing Day commitments to finish off their star studded class. The Noles however, still landed the most Five-Star recruits(6) in the cycle. Notre Dame, who finished # 1, nabbed two Five-Stars.

                TWO QBS SELECT NOLES

The big question going into Signing Day was would Terry Washington pick the Seminoles. The Noles had a myriad of Quarterback issues this past season, however, former Five-Star QB Sha'Dar Walker seemed to take over towards the end of the season. Even with Walker showing promise, the staff still heavily pursued the talents of Washington this off-season. However, Washington selected the Seminoles on Signing Day. But to much surprise, so did Four-Star QB Ko'Dallas Avery who selected Florida State over Mississippi State and Florida. Now the Seminoles will have 5 scholarship Quarterbacks on its roster heading into the spring.

                SIGNING DAY COMMITMENTS

Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)

                  MEET THE 2032 CLASS

The Seminoles signed the #2 Class in the country, with the most Five-Stars of any other school with 6. However, it's one of the smaller classes in Coach Cameel Verner's era with only 17 total commitments. Here we will breakdown the recruits of the 2032 class and figure out their possible role in the Fall of 2032.

                  Projected Position: QB

The Four-Star was the most surprising commitment of the weekend. His commitment came after Five-Star Terry Washington committed to Florida State. However, Avery showed in the Nike Sparq All-American Game that he brings a lot to the table as a Quarterback. Spring will be very interesting to see how everything unfolds as the Noles now have five scholarship Quarterbacks on its roster.
                  __________________________________________________ ___________

                  Projected Position:RB/WR

The Noles secured a huge homerun threat in Silva-Bendera. He has the ability to score anytime he touches the ball, and the Noles will use him similar to how they use Sytavious "Pit" Graham currently. Bendera has world class speed, and they will get him in space as often as possible.
                  __________________________________________________ ____________

                  Projected Position:WR

The Noles got a big time deep threat in the 6'5" speedster from Tampa. Blades uses his size extremely well when the ball is in the air and has the speed to get down field in a hurry. The Noles lost much of its receiving corps to the NFL Draft, so Blades will have an opportunity to fight for playing time during camp.
                  __________________________________________________ ____________

                  Projected Position: DE/OLB

The Noles needed an edge rusher, and Davis is one of the best in the country at getting after the passer. Of course he will need to add weight to his frame to support the run in the ACC, but he most definitely can be used in pass packages because of his elite burst.
                  __________________________________________________ ____________

The cousin of Chris Davis was a huge pick up for the Seminoles. He has the abillity to play a number of different positions for the Seminoles due to his size, speed and athletic ability. Based on the numbers, we are even unsure if he will play on Offense or Defense. However, we believe in the long run defense will be best suited for him.

                  Projected Position: Unknown
                  __________________________________________________ ____________

                  Projected Position:TE

Edmonds was a late addition to the Seminoles class, but the Noles have two a Senior and a Junior on it's roster and felt they needed to add future depth to the roster. Edmonds is a sure handed Tight End that will more than likely take a redshirt this season.
                  __________________________________________________ ____________

                  Projected Position: RB

Hampton is a power back that loves contact but also has good enough speed to go the distance. With the transfer of Kenterrick Shaw, Hampton can be that big power back that FSU loves to change their pace with.
                  __________________________________________________ ____________

                  Projected Position: T

Mason has a big time mean streak and very good feet. The Noles are pretty deep at the Tackle position this year, but as most lineman, he will need a Redshirt anyways to prepare his body for elite play anyways.
                  __________________________________________________ ____________

                  Projected Position: T

Studmire is another fleet footed Lineman who will need a year of development as well, but was a last minute find by the Noles staff. Studmire's only D1 offers prior to Florida State was Kent State and Central Michigan.
                  __________________________________________________ ____________

                  Projected Position: NT

The Noles needed a Nose Tackle for the middle of it's defense since they are an odd based front that runs a 3-3-5. Landry was a late find as his only major offers were Ball State and Buffalo. But the Noles were able to rush in at the midnight hour and secure his pledge. He's a very big guy, and the staff is in love with his potential.
                  __________________________________________________ ____________

                  Projected Position: RB

The Noles were able to secure the top Running Back class of the recruiting cycle by rounding off it's Running Back trio with Five-Star Vontae Marshall. Marshall is a track athlete who has a 10.41 100m Personal Best. He is fast. Very fast.

                  __________________________________________________ ____________

                  Projected Position: RB/WR

The common theme so far in the 2032 class is speed. Speed, speed, and more speed. And Darcy Miller has plenty of it as well. We already noted that Running Back Vontae Marshall has a 10.41 100m, well Miller has posted a 10.35 100m as well. He has olympic class speed, and the Noles plan on using him all over the field. He's absolutely electric and is such a jitterbug in open space that makes him a nightmare to account for.
                  __________________________________________________ ____________

Projected Position: Hawk(Right Slot CB), FREE (FS)

The biggest thing to know is Shemar can play multiple positions in the 3-3-5 defense of FSU. But he would probably be best suited at the Hawk,or Free positions to start his career. He's a play maker , and a big time player.
                  __________________________________________________ ____________

Projected Position: CB, FREE (FS), Hawk (Right Slot CB), Ace (Left Slot CB)

Spiller was a huge addition to the Seminoles. He is a Corner who can excel in all 5 spots of the Noles defense in the secondary. He will probably play a little of everywhere because if his knack for the ball and playmaking ability.
                  __________________________________________________ ____________

                  Projected Position: CB

Sullivan may not be as versatile as Spiller, but Sullivan is considered a lockdown corner. The west coast product will start out his career solely as a CB and go from there. He has excellent ball skills to go along with the height and length that helps him be percieved as one of the top cover corners in the country.
                  __________________________________________________ ____________

                  Projected Position: DT/DE

Thomas was a late bloomer, but the Noles liked his upside. In some even sets he has the size to play DT, and DE in the odd sets. He probably isnt an immediate impact guy, but down the road he has the tools to really help the Noles front.
                  __________________________________________________ ____________

                  Projected Position: QB

One of the Noles biggest pickups this cycle was Quarterback Terry Washington. The kid is a flat out stud, and can do it all. And with the Quarterback problems the Noles have had this year, Washington was a welcomed sight. Washington owns all QB records in the state of Oregon with over 22,000 passing yards and 6,000 rushing yards for his career with 204 touchdowns.
                  __________________________________________________ ____________

                  Projected Position: DE/OLB

The son of former FSU All American Marion Whitehead joins his dad's alma mater. While his dad was an All-American Linebacker at FSU at 6'7" 242 pounds, the younger Whitehead has similar measurements. But he has the ability to be a strong pass rusher as well. Depending how he develops later on will determine his final position, but for now we figure he will play that tweener role similar to former Seminole 4th round pick Kenyatta Bimbo.

                      SPRING FOOTBALL IS HERE!

The Florida State Seminoles enjoyed and up and down 2031 campaign. After winning back to back National Championships, the Noles finished last season 11-3, and lost in the ACC Championship game vs Duke. While the Noles lost a ton of talent from it's roster, a lot of young talent stepped up in the absence of 12 eventual NFL draft picks including 4 first rounders. The Noles went on to destroy the undefeated Ohio Bobcats in the Peach Bowl 56-10, and head into it's offseason with momentum and hope for the future.

In the Off-season, not only did the Noles lose 12 Draft Picks, but they also lost Offensive Coordinator Tommy Bowden to retirement. In addition, they also lost Defensive Coordinator Tim Beckman who is now Boston College's new Head Coach. To replace the two, Florida State Head Coach Cameel Verner hired former Georgia Tech Quarterback Hayden Kiser. Kiser was a former Five-Star recruit who played under Verner from 24' to 26'. Kiser went on to be drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 3rd Round and went on to play 3 years before injuries derailed his career.

At DC, Verner hired former Graduate Assistant Ryan Dukes. Dukes has no previous coaching experience but was a Walk-On for FSU during Verner's first year as the Noles' Head Coach.

With the major turn around and shift of power in coaching, the spring will be extremely valuable to determine how the Seminoles rebound from what they deemed an unsuccessful 11-3 season.

"We are very excited about this years team. We've got a lot of returning talent. A lot of eagerness to get out and get after it. Guys hungry and ready to get to work." said Head Coach Cameel Verner.

                      FRESHMAN CLASS ISSUED NUMBERS

The new staff was able to assemble the Nation's #2 recruiting class, with the most Five-Stars in the country. Today, Florida State released the numbers of what the Freshman class will be wearing year 1 in a Seminole uniform.

                      2032 SPRING ROSTER RELEASED

                      NOTABLE WEIGHT CHANGES

With the initial roster being released for 2032 Spring, we've noticed a few weight changes from players from last season to this season.

                      OL Ala Hali'a'aloha 290 to 331
NT Suri French 320 to 334
LB David Grier 210 to 232
LB Luke Ralph 220 to 237
LB Jamar Sykes 215 to 225
CB Chris Sanders 175 to 200

The most notable changes are the Linebackers for FSU. Florida State's second leading tackler, David Grier who led all linebackers in tackles with 117, played Middle Linebacker last season as a True Freshman at 210 pounds. Grier was awarded the starting role as Mike linebacker after playing the majority of his High School career as a Wide Receiver, had the biggest transition in the off season gaining 22 pounds to his 6 foot 4 frame.

Luke Ralph redshirted last sesaon but also gained 17 pounds, but reserve Linebacker Jamar Sykes bulked from 215 to 225 this off season as well.

"We have a lot of athletic guys at LB, we had to make it a point of emphasis that they added much needed weight this off-season because we really are counting on them more and more this season." said Cameel Verner.

                        TOP SPRING HEADLINES TO WATCH

The Seminoles will begin Spring Camp this weekend and we will highlight a few things we believe are keys to look forward to into the spring camp. The Noles who prior to last season, won back to back National Championships, had a lackluster season finishing 11-3. Albeit a down season for such a talented team, the Seminoles were able to gain some off-season momentum by destroying an undefeated Ohio team in the Peach Bowl 56-10, and then also inking the #2 ranked recruiting class in the country with the most Five-Stars of any school during the cycle.

"We have a lot of guys ready to roll. Mat Drills and 4th Quarter Drills this winter went about as good as expected. Guys have been eager to really get after it. This really seems to be one of the more anticipated Spring Camps I've been around in quite some time" said Cameel Verner.

                        1. QUARTERBACK BATTLE

The Seminoles walk into Spring Camp with a very unique situation on it's hands. During it's back to back National Championship run, it had a Heisman Trophy winner at Quarterback, who last year converted to Running Back and then went on to be a 1st Round pick at that position. But last season the Seminoles were extremely dissapointing at the Quarterback spot.

Redshirt Junior Clay Tillman took the majority of the reps at Quarterback last season, completed 68% of his passes and threw for 2,603 yards with 23 Touchdowns and 13 interceptions. However, during big games, Tillman seemed to dissapear.

His backup, Redshirt Sophomore B.J. McDaniel also had the same issue dissapearing in certain games as well. Number wise, McDaniel seemed serviceable completing 75% of his passes for 797 yards. But the 5 interceptions (7 Touchdowns) is what concerned the coaching staff. The offense sputtered a lot at times with both Quarterbacks at the helm, while the Defense was left to pick up the slack and attempt to keep the Semnioles in the game.

"We know we've got to get a bit more consistency under center. It's the most important position in all of sports. So in this camp, that's what we're looking for and that is what we are preaching. Consistency" Said Cameel Verner.

Even with both Quarterbacks available in the Peach Bowl, the Seminoles opted to start True Freshman Sha'Dar Walker vs the Ohio Bobcats, and he did not dissapoint. Walker played in a situational role the majority of last season as he only played in certain pre-meditated packages. However, the former Five-Star recruit led the Noles to arguably their biggest (and most needed) win of the year vs a Bobcat team that had all the momentum in the world being 13-0 and upset about being snubbed out of the College Football Playoff. Walker finished 20-37 with 398 yards and 6 Touchdowns in his debut start.

"He played extremely well. He had a heck of a game. People have taken notice to his legs most of the year and weren't able to notice how great of a arm he has. He's done an amazing job all year working and progressing to get where is was today. Very proud of him and the rest of our kids. Walker has a very bright future ahead of him." said Head Coach Cameel Verner after the game.

So here we are, approaching Day 1 of Spring Camp with 3 guys with viable starting experience in the fold fighting for the opportunity to be named the starter. Redshirt Junior Clay Tillman, Redshirt Sophomore B.J. McDaniel, and Former Five-Star Sophomore Sha'Dar Walker all enter the camp with viable game experience.

Here's where things get a bit sticky. The Noles surprisingly added two more Blue Chip Quarterbacks during the 2021 class.

The Noles suprisingly was able to ink the #1 Quarterback in the Country Terry Washington from Forest Grove, OR. But even after the Noles landed Washington on National Signing Day, later that evening, the Noles also added Ko'Dallas Avery as well which was a shock to newly hired Offensive Coordinator Hayden Kiser.

"It was really a shock to me. Once we landed Terry, we honestly thought we were done for the day. Terry was the last LOI we received up until K.D. announced. And once we were told K.D.'s LOI was in...we were like..'What? Really?' That showed the gamesman ship of a guy like K.D. he wants to compete and that is going to do nothing but breed success" said Kiser.

With 3 Veteran Quarterbacks already on it's roster, the Noles now have a Total of Five Quarterbacks who will battle it out this Spring. Two Four Stars, Two Five Stars and of course Tillman being the only Three-Star former recruit.

                        2. RECEIVING CORPS WILL LOOK DIFFERENT

The Seminoles lost a ton of Receiving production this past off season. They lost Jamar Reid in the 1st Round , Kennard Thomas in the 2nd Round and Benito Tipton in the 4th round. Those three WRs have been starters for the Noles since day one they arrived on campus. However, the Noles do have some capable WRs waiting on the wings to step in and most of them showed their abilities in the Peach Bowl vs the Bobcats. Redshirt Freshman Ja'Christian Anderson impressed with 2 catches for 70 yards and 2 Touchdowns, while Redshirt Sophomore Chris Brown finished with 5 catches for 118 yards and 3 Touchdowns. Brown standing at 6 foot 4 and reportedly running a sub 4.3 was too much of a mismatch in his debut as a starter. While former Five-Star Ja'Christian Anderson at 6'6" looked just as dominating. The Noles also will return Junior speedster Orbit Jackson to the team as well as he was second on the team in receiving with 55 catches for 849 yards and 5 Touchdowns.

"We love the playmakers we have on the outside. But it's my job to make sure we get them in plenty of situations for them to showcase their playmaking ability. " Said OC Hayden Kiser.

The Noles have one of the taller receiving corps in the country with RS-FR Ja'Christian Anderson (6'6", 225) RS-SO Tso Cyrus (6'5" ,223) RS-SO Chris Brown (6'4", 215) and True Freshman Shabazz Blades (6'5", 190).

The Noles also went out and inked two Blue Chippers at WR with Shabazz Blades and Darcy Miller. Miller being one of the most electric players in recent memory at the High School level is expected to give the Seminoles a huge boost to playmaking ability with his speed and gamebreaking ability. Blades is every bit of a deep threat caliber WR with his length at 6 foot 5. Both will look to get into the rotation with a good spring camp.

HOW WILL COACHING CHANGES AFFECT THE TEAM

In the off-season the Noles lost their Offensive Coordinator Tommy Bowden to retirement, and also their Defensive Coordinator Tim Beckman to Boston College as he becomes their new Head Coach. This season, the Noles will boast two Coordinators as brand new Coaches to College Football.

New Offensive Coordinator Hayden Kiser played for Cameel Verner, Sr at Georgia Tech from 24'-'26.

Ryan Dukes was also hired as the New Defensive Coordinator for Florida State. He was a Graduate Assistant for Florida State last season as he was a Walk-On at Florida State during Cameel Verner's first year as a Head Coach.

Neither coach has any previous coaching experience, so it will be interesting to see how both Coaches adapt to coaching at a High level. Even though neither have Head Coaching experience...Cameel Verner is no stranger to hiring former players as Coordinators or Assistants. While the Head Coach at Georgia Tech, he hired former Collegiate teammate Matteo Sledge to be his Offensive Coordinator at GT. Sledge is now currently the Head Coach at Georgia Tech and now has won 2 national titles as a Head Coach in Atlanta. At the time, Sledge had no coaching experience but now he's considered one of the top coaches in the country.

"We are thrilled to have Kiser as our Offensive Coordinator. He will also serve as Quarterbacks Coach as well. We feel he can help develop our young men and we are excited about his future within this program." said Head Coach Cameel Verner when the hiring was announced.

                          SPEED, SPEED AND MORE SPEED

The Noles have released their pre-camp test numbers and the most glaring numbers are the 40 times from the Seminoles this off-season. These numbers clearly are un-official in terms of NFL Combine testing, but it's still a very good indication of the speed this team posses. And based on previous NFL Combines in the Cameel Verner regime, the 40 times are pretty accurate as it translates to the NFL's combine numbers.

The Seminoles have an astonishing 22 players of its 75 man roster that have been clocked under a 4.5. While the numbers are eye popping, it's somewhat expected while a high percentage of the players are also Dual-Sport athletes on FSU's track and field team. The Seminoles are the raining track and field champions with DB Luron Dixon(Triple Jump), RB/WR Sytavious Graham (100m, 200m), WR Orbit Jackson (100m,200m, 4x4 Relay) leading the Noles last season. But there are several Freshman that already have impressive 40 times including RB Vontae Miller and WR Darcy Miller.

While the Noles have an abundance of speed, there are a few players that just jump out at you with their times.

LB George Phillips at 6'6" 266 running a 4.43 is just unreal. Coaches have raved about his talent and ability but Phillips' athletism might be unmatched compared to the rest of the roster.

Freshman LB Kenrell Davis at 6'4" 225 running a 4.39 also a pleasant surprise. Davis is listed as a LB but the coaches have hinted that Davis will play multiple spots on the Noles defense this year because he "can do way too much for you".

Junior RB Trey Wright posting a 4.33 at 205 is extremely impressive. With two former Noles getting selected to the NFL Draft, this could be Wright's year to showcase that speed in abundance this season.

The last notables are on the offense. With WRs Chris Brown running a sub 4.3, and WR Ja'Christian Anderson at 6'6" 225 running a 4.44, gives the Noles Quarterbacks major size and speed on the perimeter. And QB Sha'Dar Walker posting a 4.39 is a nightmare for defenses as well.

One thing is for sure, the Noles have plenty of speed to offer this season. Lets hope it translates into a successful season with all the major changes for the program during the offseason. We wont have long to see it for ourselves as Spring practice is scheduled to kick off soon.

Kenrell Davis looks like a future no. 1 pick. A 6'4 LB with a 4.39 is insane.

                              DAY 1: SPRING CAMP

The Noles open up Spring Camp this afternoon in their quest to return to the College Football playoff this fall after coming up short this past season. The Noles finished last season 11-3, but did come up with an impressive victory in the Peach Bowl beating previously unbeaten Ohio 56-10. While Day 1 is complete, we have plenty of news and notes to share from what we witnessed during Day 1 of camp.

                              QUARTERBACK BATTLE

This will be the most interesting battle of the Camp. The Seminoles have 5 Quarterbacks this Spring. While we probably will have to wait until the Fall to determine who will ultimately be under center next season, the Spring gives us an early indicator of who will possibly will get the nod. However, of the 5 Quarterbacks, 2 immediately jumped out at us from a talent perspective. Sophomore QB's Sha'dar Walker and Freshman Terry Washington. Both former Five-Star recruits show early on they have the tools to be extremely successful this season.

Walker, the former south Florida recruit started his first game as a Seminole in the Peach Bowl and finished with 397 yards with 6 touchdowns on the night. That performance may have gave him the confidence boost needed to go into the Spring and become the unquestioned offensive leader this season. Today during day 1, he showed Pin point accuracy, command of the offense, and uncanning escapability when things broke down in the pocket.

Freshman Terry Washington definitely showed why he was such a highly coveted recruit. Washington was the #3 overall player in the class of 2032, and the first thing you notice is his poise. He still has a ways to go to learn the playbook but the little he already does know he has immediately taken charge and command of it. During a portion of practice, he completed 14 straight passes. It will be extremely interesting the remainder of the spring to see how he continues to progress.

                              PAIR OF FRESHMAN STAND-OUT EARLY

The Noles finished with the #2 recruiting class in the country this past season. Which marks the first time Cameel Verner Sr did not have the #1 class in the country in 8 consecutive years (4 at FSU, 4 at GT). But the Noles did have the most Five-Stars in the class and a couple of those stood out in Day 1.

DB Thomas Spiller is a guy who we will keep an eye on. The former Five-Star from Brownsville, FL clearly is an impact guy. He was everywhere. He has a brash sense of confidence that we havent seen in quite a while. Junior CB Ja'Carius Kidd might be the most complete CB Florida State has had probably in the past 30 years, and is overwhelmingly considered to be a top 5 pick after this season, but Spiller doesn't seem to be very far behind him in terms of talent. Spiller got beat in his first few snaps, but whats overly impressive about him is how he bounced back after defeat. He's going to be one heck of a player if he keeps that kind of demeanor about himself.

LB Kenrell Davis is a absolute stud. We were able to watch him play several spots. The Noles lined him up at LB, DE, and Safety. He is a special athlete that does a lot. He still has a lot to learn, but one thing about it he already has a collegiate build. Tall, lean and built very well. He needs to get a tad bit stronger because he struggled against the run when lined up at DE and also getting around the Tackle consistently on pass rushes, but his skill set pops out at you of what he potentially can be. He really excels in space right now and in coverage. Those two assets will be hard to keep him off the field a lot in Year 1.

LB PHILLIPS WILL BE AN ISSUE

Redshirt Sophomore George Phillips had probably the most impressive day of any player in a Seminoles uniform in day 1. Phillips has outstanding measurables as he is 6'6" 265 pounds was clocked by the coaches at 4.43 forty and plays DE/LB for the Noles in their 3-3-5 scheme. He can play in space and was an absolute terror off the edge in Day 1. He could not be blocked. His burst is un-real.

"This guy is an absolute freak of nature." said Defensive Coordinator Ryan Dukes "His acceleration off of the ball, his ability to play the run, and he has some of the most violent hands I've seen. He had a terrific day today." he said.

The former Four-Star from Leesburg, FL played in a reserve role last season for the Seminoles and finished the year with 18 tackles and 1.5 sacks on the year. This year he's ultimately battling for the starting spot at the Bandit (OLB) position, and today he got off to a great start. The Noles lacked a major pass rusher last season but Phillips looks like he is ready to take over that area of need for the Seminoles this season.

Phillips is a freak bro. This team is looking nice on d.
