Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)
3:30 PM/ET ABC Virginia's only loss of the year came ot the hands of #13 LSU, 28-24. For the 4th week in a Row we face an NFL ready Quarterback. The ACC seems to be filled with them this year. Senior QB Derrick Horne Lit up LSU's Defense throwing for 391 and 3 Touchdowns. They fell behind early which took away Virginia's run game which they are led by a stud RB in JR Greg Oliver he averaged 4.5 yards per carry in that contest. So far this season our weakness has been our Run Defense. Virginia has a very solid offensive line, with 3 All-Conference lineman on the interior. In order to win this game stopping the run is key. Virginia has a very capable WR corps, but not as strong as we've seen so far this year. So if we make them one dimensional I like our chances. Their best WR is Junior Josean Schmidt(6'2", 200). On Defense, they dont have a great pass rush, but their run defense is solid. They held LSU to 51 yards rushing on the night. The interior lineman DT Raymond Hayes is a very good interior lineman. Backed by some solid savy veteran linebackers in Tank Green who had 17 tackles vs LSU, and fellow linebackers Martravius Smith and Brandon Williams. FSU's run game has been a weakness so far this season other than QB Sarderrious Minter. FSU has to start mustering up some kind of run game in order to become consistent. FSU's speedy and explosive receiving corps will be matched by two All-ACC Corners Jesse Fredrick Jr(5'11", 182) and Michael White(5'10",161). The difference in this matchup will be the size FSU has at WR compared to the size limitation of UVA's DBs. Will be one to watch. INJURIES None. *LT Kevin Lewis returns from injury after missing last week vs Memphis. SUSPENSION UPDATE Violation of Team Rules DE Sharaad Bonner (1 week remaining) RT Bob Martin (1 week remaining) NCAA VIOLATION DB Bihadda Maddox (TBD) SEVERAL NOLES IN TOP 5 STATISTICAL CATEGORIES Heading into Week 4, with 3 games under their belt, FSU has several players that are in the top of statistical categories. While the Noles do have an advantage by having played 1 more game than most schools after having a Week 0 Matchup vs Maryland, it's still interesting to see this compared to a season ago. Currently Freshman QB Sarderrious Minter is second in the country in passing yards(896), first in the country in Touchdowns thrown(12), and second in the country in rushing yards(343). Freshman Jamar Reid is 3rd in the country in receiving yards(356). Freshman Defensive Lineman Zaveri O'Born is 6th in the country in Sacks with 3.0 for the season. Currently several Noles lead the way in interceptions on the season as FSU has been a big takeaway machine early on so far this season. |

#20 FLORIDA STATE AT VIRGINIA 3:30 PM/ET ESPN ON ABC **FINAL 2:15 of the Game(worth the watch)** GAME RECAP
Spoiler
FSU FALLS TO VIRGINIA IN A HEARTBRAKER Theres no doubt that this one really hurt. The reason? FSU was outplayed in almost every facet of the game the first two quarters. FSU was outgained 325 to 101 in the first two quarters. Virginia led 27-14 at the half when they capped the final drive of the Second quarter with a short field goal. FSU struggled in all facets of the game. They couldn’t defend the run, they couldn’t stop the big play. Then the second half kicked off… In the second half FSU’d defense didn’t allow a a touchdown, only a field goal after a team walked up and down the field on them with ease. The only other points came from a safety by the offense, and a kick off return for a TD. The defense got stop after stop in the second half. They weren’t the normal takeaway machines that they normally are, but they got repeated stops when needed. The game came down to a the final play where Quarterback Sarderrious Minter. overthrew a TD attempt in the endzone to Kennard Thomas. Much is clear, Minter has to become more consistent as a passer. He’s one heck of a talent, but to play Quarterback at this level he has to become more consistent. However, he does give FSU the best chance to win behind center. Rivals analyst Mike Ferrell ways in on the former Five-Star prospect. “Hes one heck of a talent. We see that. We rated him the #3 overall prospect for a reason. However, people have to realize he was kind of thrown into the Quarterback situation at Florida State. He played some Quarterback in high school, and when he did it was mostly as an athlete. He never went to any passing camps, didn’t go to the Elite 11, he didn’t really focus and hone in as a Quarterback because he was so special at other positions. He was mainly a Running Back and Wide Receiver on offense his final two years in High School. And he didn’t come off the field. He also played Defensive End, Linebacker and Safety. So the FSU staff has work to do to complete him as a package at QB. But there is no denying his upside.” The Good The Wide Receivers of FSU played very well. They were matched up vs one of the best secondary tandums in the nation and they played lights out. Freshman WR Jamar Reid had 7 catches for 111 yards and 2 TD, while fellow Freshman Kennard Thomas continues to be the homerun threat that he is with 2 catches for 100 yards and 1 TD. The front 6 continues to dominate getting 6 sacks on the night vs Virginia. Freshman Zaveri O’Born had another huge night on the DL with 5 Tackles one Sack, Senior Cameron Landrum with 5 tackles 2 sacks, and Freshman DL Alonzo Jackson with 3 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Sophomore Cornerback Detaro Levine had an absolute monster game, probably the best of his career today. Finished with 12 tackles and 1 interception. He really has ramped up his game tremendously playing the run and the pass equally well. The Bad Rushing Defense still is a thorn in the side for FSU. The second half they played much better. FSU once again gave up 226 yards on the ground.. However, if they can play like they did in the second half things will bode much better for the Seminoles moving forward. The Offensive Line.. even with the return of Kevin Lewis to the starting lineup still surrendered 6 sacks on the day. They also still couldnt muster much room in the run game. Outside of Sarderrious Minter's rushing efforts, FSU only mustered 62 yards on 17 carries. The inability to run the football has been a thorn in FSU's side all year. No running back has hit the 100 yard mark yet this season. In the End FSU has not put a complete game together yet this season. Sitting at 2-2, and 1-2 in the ACC, they have work to do in order to finish this schedule BOX SCORE

Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)
UP NEXT: BAYLOR (1-2) 2028 ACC Champions ESPN 7:15 PM/ET The road in the ACC gets no easier. FSU travels to Baylor this weekend to face the 1-2 Baylor Bears. The Bears losses this season came to #1 Texas A&M, 28-21, and to Duke 34-28. The Bears possibly could have the most explosive Offense in the ACC this season. They have three outstanding receivers, Gavin Smith(6'0", 202), Clay Sanders(5'10", 185) and Anthony Johnson (6'1", 190). And boy they all can fly. Led by Quarterback William Smith who lit up FSU last season for over 400 yards, FSU looks to have some kind of revenge this weekend. FSU has had all kinds of issues stopping the run this season giving up over 200 yards rushing for three straight games. And Baylor speedster RB Nick Williams (5'11" , 204) will not make things any easier. Williams could possibly be the fastest player on the Baylor team. FSU has their hands full around the entire offense of Baylor as they have an entire array of weapons. Defensively, All-American CB Dan Davenport leads the charge for the Bears, and its a safe bet that he will be matched up with Freshman Jamar Reid most of the night. Baylor is very stout up front with two of the best Defensive Tackles in the ACC. The bad news is FSU has yet to muster any type of consistent run game all season long. In order to win this game FSU must muster up some type of run game in order to come out on top. BREAKING NEWS Reserve RS Senior Linebacker Buster Burks has been suspended indefinitely according to Head Coach Cameel Verner for violation of team rules. Burkes has played sparingly this season as a reserve but has been a key contributor on special teams. FSU will return DE Sharaad Bonner, RT Marcus Black , and DB Bihadda Maddox to the lineup, who all have been suspended since Week 2 of the season. INJURIES None. Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)
OH...MY..GOD..WHAT.A.FINISH!! GAME RECAP
Spoiler
Wow. What. A. Game. This has to possibly be the biggest miracle I’ve experienced in a long time. FSU did the impossible. After giving up a late Field Goal with 14 seconds left in the game. A pass interference call that brought back an interception that would have ended the game gave the Noles one last shot at a miracle. And boy did they ever. Sarderrious Minter threw a 50 yard game winning touchdown to Jamar Reid for the eventual game winner. What a turn of events. The Noles were looking at going 1-3 in ACC play and 2-3 overall. But with that miracle play, the Noles are 3-2 Overall and 2-2 in the ACC and still lead the Atlantic Division and control their own destiny. The Noles played probably their best game of the year vs an extremely talented team. The Noles Defense finally stepped up to the plate and consistently made plays. They gave up a couple of chunk plays that led to scores, but nothing like we saw in the previous weeks. However the Defense almost let them down by giving up a long pass that lead to a probably game winning Field Goal with 14 seconds to go. The defense gave up another rushing week of over 200 yards rushing, but 2 of those runs were for long busted runs. Other than those two runs the Noles contained the run game. But the Noles did something they failed to do the past few weeks, and that’s find a way to win. The Good Freshman QB Sarderrious Minter continues to impress. He’s putting up Heisman like numbers. And after today he definitely should be in consideration. He threw for 435 yards, and ran for another 137. He is clearly the life of this Seminole offense. And his Freshman WR counterpart Jamar Reid isn’t far behind with a 5 catch 145 yard performance. On Defense, Sophomore CB Detaro Levine has stepped up his game and has become a dominant shut-down cornerback. He plays the run exceptionally well for a Corner, and has really turned up his game as a defender vs the pass. Freshman CB J.D. Davis who moved to the Ace (Strong Safety) position in favor of veteran Kyle Moore to give the Noles more athleticsm and coverage ability started his first game today and showed plenty of Flash. He played the majority of the game last week and finished with 7 tackles and the Noles rewarded him with his first start this week. He finished with 8 tackles and 2 PBUs at that position. The Bad FSU still has to stop big plays in the clutch. FSU did a good job for the majority of the game in limiting an explosive Baylor team from chunk plays. But when FSU needed a stop the most, they gave up the big play. The Noles once again gave up another 200 yard rushing performance and gave up 319 in the air. They found a way to win, but consistency is key this season. The offensive line still cannot muster a run game. Kartrelle Gaither only had 42 yards on 14 carries, while backup Zaleel Hamby had 4 yards on 2 carries. 16 carries for 44 yards will not cut it if FSU wants to hang on to the Conference Division lead for long. BOX SCORE

Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)
NEXT UP: #1 MIAMI (4-0) Preview This will undoubtedly be the toughest matchup of the year thus far. We welcome the # 1 ranked Hurricanes to Doak-Campbell Stadium this weekend. The Hurricanes made it all the way to the College Football Playoff Championship game last year and lost to Michigan in a thriller of a game. While Michigan has taken a step back this year, Miami has not. They have taken off. They defeated two top 5 foes already this season in #4 Oregon, and #3 Notre Dame in conference action. This will be the Seminoles first primetime game since defeating Maryland the first week of the season. Key Matchups Miami boasts probably one of the most star-studded rosters in the country. The only other team that probably has a better roster from top to bottom is Georgia Tech who currently is ranked #2 in the country. For starters, Senior Running Back Maurice Harrison (6'2" ,232) is a projected first round draft pick. He is a workhorse in every sense of the word. He's a big back and Miami uses him effectively. So far this season he's averaging 6.3 yards per carry and 8 touchdowns in 4 games this year. The Hurricanes also boast a duo of explosive receivers, Chad Chambers (6'1, 177) and Brian Woods, Jr. (6'6", 220). Woods leads the team with 5 Touchdowns so far this season. On defense, the Noles Offense will have their hands full. Defensive Ends, Junior Gonzalo Koonce (6'3", 261) and Senior Thomas George (6'3", 253) have been causing havoc all year. Both ends are tied with 4 sacks a piece on the year, with multiple QB hurries to go along with it. The Hurricanes boast probably the best cornerback groups in the country. Seniors Ricky Booker(5'11", 175) Blaike Jackson (6'0, 185), Junior Chris Key (6'1", 192) and and Redshirt Freshman Charles Ball-Walters (6'3", 188). The Quadruplet corners have a combined 11 Turnovers this season. The leader of the Defense for the Hurricanes is Linebacker and All-American Senior Rory Owens (6'2", 230) He has 38 tackles and leads the team this season. INJURIES None. SUSPENSIONS LB Buster Burkes - Team Rules - 4 Games RECRUITING OFFICIAL VISITS FSU will host the largest official visit weekend of the Cameel Verner era. FSU will host over 15 prospects this weekend for the rivalry game on primetime television. Some of the visitors will include five star prospects: WR Orbit Jackson OG Donnell Cox ATH Luron Dixon Stay tuned as this should be a very interesting weekend. Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)
GAME RECAP
Spoiler
FSU STUNS #1 MIAMI What. A. Shocker. The Noles finally played their best game of the season. Without a doubt. Like, where do we start? The Noles couldnt stop anyone with a pulse this year up until tonight. They rendered the Hurricane offense for the majority of the game. At halftime the Noles only had given up 6 points, and a combined 82 yards for the half TOTAL. A rushing attack that had been plaguing the Noles all year? Only 9 total yards to a guy that came in averaging over 6 yards per carry. The Noles absolutely flipped a switch tonight and finally became a very very good football team. The Good Freshman DL Zaveri O'Born was unstoppable tonight. The former Five-Star recruit has been answering the questions about his size all year long and he delivered his best performance to date. The 6 foot, 252 pound athlete finished the night with an astounding 4.5 Sacks against the #1 team in the country. O'Born lined up all over the DL, played both end spots, Nose Tackle as well as DT. Nobody on the Miami Offensive Line could match up with him at all. Quarterback Sarderrious Minter better and rightfully so, should be in the conversation for the Heisman. He by far had the best game of his young Career. 16/30 311 yards and 2 TDs through the air. Also chipped in 93 yards on the ground, which is also his first game this season not rushing for 100 yards. The Offensive Line!! I have no idea what OL coach Dan Rouchard did to make the Offensive Line look the way they did tonight, but please, GIVE THAT MAN A STEAK DINNER! This is the best the OL looked the entire season. They only allowed 2 sacks tonight, and they blocked one of the best front 4 the country has to offer. And they did it consistently. FSU replaced Kevin Lewis who started 4 games this year at Left Tackle with Derique Smith, and returned Right Guard Alex Benson to the starting lineup, and it appeared to be the recipe to success. Smith, Merrick, Lamb, Benson and Martin were the starters and they looked to be the best unit that FSU has had all season long. FINALLY! A 100 Yard Rushing Performance at RB! Due to the OL's emergence, FSU finally was able to secure it's first 100 yard rushing performance by a Running Back this season. Kartrelle Gaither finished the contest with 21 carries 113yds (5.3ypc) and 2 TDs. He also busted his longest run of the year for 55 yards for a TD that broke the game open. The Bad After you beat the #1 team in the country by double digits, you tend to not really care about the bad. So atleast for this week, we wont even focus on the bad. BOX SCORE
