Good luck Matt...sounds like we might at least be able to do something with it, at the least, that's good news.

First off, it definitely does feel different from last year; in a good way, that is! daytime progression is awesome but what really amazed me was the cloud shadows on the filed and how they move! It can be sunny, semi-sunny or overcast all in the same inning. That already makes it incredible. However, what I think is the best bew feature is the new ball physics, oh and the pitch release. The ball pops out of the bat in a very realistic way, in my opinion at least. I've seen two hits down the line already and a HR replay review which was ruled a foul after all. One of those two hits down the lines did show a tiny little glitch, though. Bengie Molina belted one down the line in right and once it reached the wall it was declared a ground rule double. I captured the replay and will up it once I'm done here. Pitching also feels great. I've been throwing many more balls than i was throwing with MLB 09 and what i love about it is that this time if you miss the release point the pitch will most likely be out of the zone (depending how exactly you missed it). Last year I found that most of the times I missed the release point, my pitch ended up being a meatball, thus making my pitcher pay more often than I would have liked.
Those are my impressions for the moment. 4th inning about to start. The game is a pitching duell as expected. johan has allowed 1 run but has showed himself dominant on the mound, while Lincecum is just owning the zone and has allowed only one hit.

      More later.

Sorry to hear about the PS3 bug. Hopefully they'll do someting about it. i did read Sony's twitter and they said they are looking into it.
So, finished playing thge first game. The game is a thing of beauty and it plays great. New ball physics helps a lot, pitching is also more challenging and that makes pitch counts more realistic. I realized that whereas I love the RTP, I'm gonna be sticking with broadcast presentation because you can see all the new batter walkups and other new things added this year. So, broadcast cam and broadcast presentation it'll be for me. I lost 7-0! Lincecum and Santana had a pitching duell going to the 7th inning but as soon as Santana left in the 7th the boys from the bay woke up and battered my bullpen in the 8th. Johan tossed 95 pitches in 7 complete innings and Lincecum threw around 105 to complete his shutout.

Got mine about 20 minutes ago

Cant try it yet as family are round! But at least it gives me time to assess the 'bug' situation and whether its worth me booting up or not.

Im hoping im all set for tonight though as im going for a absolute Show session

Good to hear Alan...still waiting here for mine.....sounds like it's working with the bug, I think once it's fixed though it'll be best deleting everything and starting over (I mean deleting everything MLB 10 related)

            Good news mate.

              Great news roolz.

Yeah Ninj, i wont be starting my franchise until on or around real opening day anyway so i wont lose anyting by deleting stuff, until then its lots of exhibition play in different ballparks to get a feel for the game and then look if sliders need changing etc.

              Heres hoping at 1pm!

You reckon we'll need to delete all files? I saved files on NHL and loaded them back up after a restart and they were all in tact ...

Or can this bug corrupt data?

I'm just guessing Fluffy - I'm not going to save, 'cos I'm sure there must be some sort of date tracking when a file is written...it might be ok, I'm just going to play safe..besides by the time I get any sliders sorted then I'd hope Sony will have fixed the damn problem...it'll be days/weeks before I start a franchise - need to get it play right first.

Just read on neogaf website, that if the error doesn't correct itself at 0:00GMT the thinking is a recall will be had ... That process could take literally months!

                    Yikes!

I'll buy a slim if thats the case ... BUt i find it hard to believe sony could make the slim and not know about the fat's (inevitable) problem

And the rest, they could potentially have to recall and fix millions of PS3's!

As long as The Show works i dont care about trophies etc.

I pay £5 per month for extended care on my PS3 - means they should replace it via courier within 48hrs...be interesting to see what happens...but I'm with Matt, I don't do trophies or anything like that..so long as MLB 10 works, I can wait out until a fix from Sony or whatever..

Any luck with installing and playing Matt?

The new broadcast view is a great addition. I only had time for 6 innings but everything was working just fine (except James Shields fastball which was all over the place the first couple of innings).

Finished 1-1 after 6, with Ichiro doubling and scoring for the Mariners and Ben Zobrist homering for the Rays.

I shut everything down then rebooted the PS3 to make sure it would load again OK. No problems. I changed the PS3 clock to 1/3 manually, don't know if this made any difference or not. Now when I reboot, it starts up at March 1st, 11.01am every time.

Guys...it worked fine! Installed, just been messing with the options, no time for a game till later but its all good

Why it works on some systems and not others i do not know, i also manually changed the date to March 1, 2010 like Gerry, whether thats made any difference i dont know...but it works

Gerry - I get that too with the date & time - the clock won't advance past the time your originally set it for - in my case 8am....good to hear it's working for you anyway...sounds great, as expected...still waiting for DHL here in Co. Durham

Good to hear Matt - hopefully I'm not the unlucky one...famous last words!!
