Re: Player Gear
I apologize if it's already been discussed. I've been on 360 for the last however many years, only switching to PS4 about 2 weeks ago. So I haven't completely scoured these threads.

No worries. It seemed a little unnecessarily sarcastic, but nonetheless, I do apprecaite your insight.

Re: Player Gear
It's new in the editor on a sliding scale from 1-99.
There might be some other equip/stance/motion and visual changes as well...but I can't be sure as they were working on it when we were there.

Re: Player Gear
In the fact sheet there says there are some new stances and motions but nothing about new equipment, but do you think there's a chance there is new equipment, and they just left it off the fact sheet?NFL : Atlanta Falcons
MLB : Toronto Blue Jays

Re: Player Gear
You would think that the athletic companies would want to get their gear into these games, it's basically free advertising. It's a win win for both Sony and Nike (or whoever), Sony gets more customization options for their game, Nike gets advertising for their brand and even specific products.
I guess I just wonder where the line is that makes this different than other forms of product placement. In some cases the company pays to get their name put on things to enhance their brand (i.e. Staples pays to have their name on the Staples Center, Budweiser pays to have a can of Bud Light facing the camera in a TV show) and in other cases they charge somebody to use their name (Nike charging to have their gear used in a game)
Maybe somebody with a better understanding of advertising, branding and just economic principles in general could explain this to me lolComment

My guess is it's pretty close to how much it's worth if they have the game companies pay....or give them for free and get the exposure...
Then they also see that some companies will dish out the bucks...so they get the best of both worlds......$$$ from the companies and advertising from the exposure.
If they charge EA....and give it to SCEA....how long do you think EA would keep paying?

Re: Player Gear
Each individual item for name brand things does not have to be purchased separately. If that was the case FIFA, Madden, NBA 2k, the NHL game none of them would have enough money to do anything else with all the variety of gear they put in their game.Comment

Re: Player Gear
No matter how many times you post it....it's not going to change the fact that for The Show....they do need to be purchased if not "individually".....at least added to the negotiations one by one. Paying Nike for the t-shirts did not give them access across the board.

Re: Player Gear
What's killing me is.....in the past Community Events.....we would take the questions prior to the event from the community here.
It's likely that one of the guys who keeps saying "it can't be"(paraphrasing) ...is one of the guys who asked the question....that absurdly....I printed out and went "dev hunting" to ask!

Re: Player Gear
I think my biggest thing I'm hoping for this year is that the player editor (specifically in RTTS) will show our player's actual team colors when we edit our gear. I can't tell you how much I hate seeing this:
Generic red/white/blue color scheme. Meanwhile I'm trying to guess what Team Color 1 and Team Color 2 and Team Color 3 are and trying to imagine it all in my head.Comment
