I've been watching the ESRB site last couple days to see if the PS4 version's gone gold. It'll be an exciting time once it does. That being said, I dont expect it to hit gold status until Mid to Late March, but I look just because I hope. HAHA

The site that determines the appropriate age for a game shows when a game goes gold?

I went to the website and couldn't find it at all.

And you are being extremely optimistic on when the ps4 version will go gold me thinks.

HAHA. Well, it lists the PS3 and Vita versions sooooo. (And not to insult your intelligence buddy, but I know the questions gonna pop up). Going Gold means the devs are done the game, and it goes to the "Gold" Master copy disc (hence phrase "gone gold").. and sent to Sony's disc mass reproduction sites. It's when (and only when) a game goes gold when a dev sends the copy to be reviewed by ESRB for ratings and descriptions, THEN it goes to SONY (or Microsoft) depending on the console for clearance by them, before it even gets printed for the public.

Now to answer you Kehlis, I am optimistic when it'll go gold, (although it's a false hope lol)... I'm just sooooo ready for baseball season, I can't wait to play this game. haha. but again, I dont expect it to go gold until mid-late March, if not even early April.

Why would I say I thought that you were being optimistic if I didn't know what going gold meant?

                Got ya,

I'd be shocked though if anyone on this site didn't know what it meant.

And just as a timeframe example, "Thief" just went gold at the beginning of this months and it's release date is the 28th of February (I think).

If the show were to go gold in March it would not be released in May.

I actually didn't know about this "Gold" business.

At first I thought you guys were talking about "going gold" as in selling 500,000 copies of the game.

                    Learned something new today!

                        lol, I stand corrected.

This place talks about it ad nauseum every year.

speaking of going gold, I imagine the game is essentially done, but there are those few small things to iron out and polish before actually calling it a wrap. That's what they're doing now (again I IMAGINE) lol.... are the small bug fixes and things like balancing gameplay and optimization for the new features introduced. I'm thinking everything else is done. i'm giving it about 2-3 more weeks of polish/optimization, maybe a week or so of internal beta testing, then around last week March/ First week April they'll send it to ESRB. That's my PREDICTION. haha.

Don't know if this has already been discussed to death in the thread, but I'm excited about announced improved demand trade option. I've had a couple of players that after putting two seasons of minor league work into them end up getting traded to franchises I loathe. I try rage quitting and loading the previous save specifically asking not to be traded, but 99% of the time I end up traded to that same damn team which I despise. I started to wonder why they even included the option for requesting a trade or asking not to be traded as it appeared to have absolutely effect on the outcome of your situation. Excited at the prospect that I can now prevent my young Pitcher from landing with the Red Sox.

I don't think I've seen this mentioned here but I would love for this to be incorporated in the AI/game play:

Variable strike zone based on where you initially attempt to locate the pitch & a strike zone that more accurately reflects real life on specific pitch types

Variable strike zone: If you attempt to locate a fastball low and outside in the strike zone and the ball goes on the inside corner I'd like to see that pitch called a ball more often than not. You shouldn't get rewarded for badly missing your spot. Same applies for attempting to throw a curveball down in the zone but it hangs and hits the top of the strike zone. If that pitch isn't swung at it should be a ball.

Better strike zone per specific pitch: High offspeed pitches SHOULD BE CALLED BALLS! I was a pitcher in college, played with and against current MLB players, and had great teaching in the sport. Not once in my life was I ever told to elevate an off speed pitch. Not once! The game should reflect this simple pitching philosophy. High off speed pitches that barely touch the zone shouldn't be called strikes often at all. There should also be a penalty when these pitches are thrown and the chance for a power hit should increase.
