I had to turn off Check Swing Appeals because of the "roll of the dice" outcomes. Thankfully so, too. I would have so many more strikeouts if they said I went around all those times that I did not.

I tried the DS4 with the Show 13 and could check swing with it. I am sure it will not be an issue.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

I think it has to do more with timing as opposed to sensitivity because the buttons on the vita are not pressure sensitive and you can check swing.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

That is awesome, too bad my ps3 is broken, because I like the DS4 way better than the DS3, I never would of guessed it would work.Comment

Check swings were never based on pressure sensitivity. It was all timing based.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Fact Sheet (PS Vita, PS3, PS4)
This year's title will emphasize the three announcers in a more interactive, conversational style, yet will also continue to mine the world of baseball to find intelligent, timely and compelling commentary concerning today's teams and players
The one thing I loved about listening to a 2K broadcast was the wealth of stats that the commentary team utilized during the broadcast to inform me of things that I didn't know which really gave it that broadcast feel.
Hearing things like "Adam Jones batted .325 against lefthanders last year" or "Kershaw was 7-2 against the NL West last year" really kept me entertained and wondering what stat I would learn nextComment

Originally posted by HITTERSAURUS-REXPressure Sensitive Button pressing really didn't pan out. Pretty much a majority of user's that command their thumb are not thinking about the amount of strength they'll use when playing a game with a controller. Hence the word "Button Masher" and the inclusion of Meter Velocity, Accuracy Overlays and such.
Personally it ran more of a user hindrance rather than a accuracy technology standpoint. Basically due to many took to form as a button was typically a On or Off reaction. So I for one am truly happy of seeing it's removal as it was already tried, tested and came up very short in manifestation.
On a Side Note:
I Can't wait till the days when Analog Controllers and Advance Usage of L & R sticks/Triggers learning curve makes the Next Generation a gaming a mandatory one. Cause until then owing Super Graphics and Sheer Power of a machine with the simple method of ancient & over simplified A & B easy button kind of muddles the saying "Welcome to the future of Console Gaming"
No thats not what that means.
Currently the DS3 controller face button are pressure sensitive.
This allows us to check our swing by lightly pressing the buttons or swinging through by pressing them harder.
With the DS4 controllers, there is no pressure sensitivity on the face buttons.
A light push and a heavy handed push will register as the same.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Fact Sheet (PS Vita, PS3, PS4)
If this is the case then I'm turning it off
What they should do is make it where you only select the swing types with the buttons but actually swing with R2 which would utilize the pressure sensitivity of the trigger fully on check swings
Using the contact and Power buttons feel really awkward because I rest my finger on the triangle button and slide it straight down fast to X like a timing mechanismComment

I really hope this includes Matt, Eric & Steve mentioning career and prior year stats of pitchers and batters during the broadcast to give it more of an authentic feel.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Fact Sheet (PS Vita, PS3, PS4)
Totally agree but I personally like hearing them say it without an OSD cue always popping up while the player is in the box. It makes it seem more like a live broadcast format but a mix of both would be a very welcomed addition especially on home runs, doubles, triples & stolen bases where OSD's should appear as soon as it happens
As long as player stats are utilized throughout the broadcast I will be happyLast edited by DodgerFanatic2K3; 02-20-2014, 07:23 PM.Comment
