Doing a Jays franchise and wanna get rid of the 39yr old knuckleballer Dickey. Should I go for prospects or what? I can get Nolasco but wanting to do better than that. Can also get Sabathia from the Yankees.

I'd add Fernandez in Miami even with the injury, Goldschmidt, Tulo, Cargo, Posey, Bumgarner, Longoria, Miggy, Darvish to that list.
Maybe on Strasburg, Wright, Votto, Freeman

Ok so I'm trading dickey(A), Andy laroche(D), Kyle Drabek(D) to the phillies for Cliff Lee(A), Antonio Bastardo(B), and 21yr old 3rd baseman A rated prospect Maikel Franco. Taking on about an extra $10MM in salary though. Seems like a nice deal, especially with Franco.Colts fan

I just can't get behind the idea of trading away your future for one player. Sure, Trout, Stanton, Kershaw, etc are unreal talents and franchise cornerstones, but to give away five potential everyday starters that are young and full of potential is something I could never pull the trigger on.REDSKINS & WIZARDSComment

Well I ended up finishing my first season. The Pirates won the World Series over the Tigers.
It's good to think I helped a team win it all by giving them another big bat.Comment

I'd go for prospects for Dickey. Its your franchise so do what you want but this deal would be horrendous for the PhilliesComment

Cliff Lee alone is more valuable by a long shot than Dickey is. On top of it you get their number 1 prospect plus their best RP.Comment

While I do fancy myself as a pretty one, I am in fact a guy.
Yeah that deal is a mess. I also think Dickey is a better fit in a pitchers park. I believe AC pointed out Pittsburgh as a landing spot and I really like that fit. San Diego is another solid fit if they are in contention.Comment

Nationals trade: 78 OVR rookie 1st baseman
Pirates trade: Starling Marte
My player was a randomly generated player on the default roster, he didn't have a real name. I don't know where he came from, but we desperately needed some like Marte who can steal a base.Fan of:

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I'm still mulling over the Stanton deal... Pederson is the only everyday player I'd be giving up for right now, and Stanton replaces him in the outfield.
Urias will be great, but my rotation is in pretty good shape with Hamels, Archer, and Biddle at the top.
Crawford will end up being pretty good, but I traded Papelbon for Didi Gregorious, who may not have the upside but is a solid everyday player.
Seager is blocked at 3rd by Franco and Asche.
Franco is ready at 3rd... but Asche is a better defender and hit 20 bombs last year (somehow) and I can't move him to first with Howard entrenched there until the end of his contract.
I don't know what to do! So much talent to give away but it's so tempting to get Giancarlo "Don't call me Mike" Stanton.Phillies | A's | Michigan State | Browns | Chelsea FC | BruinsComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Hey guys, need to trade Lind and Rasmus. Lind could be a good fit for the Brewers, Athletics, Pirates, Rangers, and Mariners, whereas Rasmus could fit on the Diamondbacks, Phillies, White Sox, Reds, Mariners, Rangers, and Giants. Maybe the Brewers too. I'm looking for a younger, more controllable centerfielder in return and a starting pitcher as well. Maybe a young catching prospect. Would be open to three team deals. I have to leave for school now but off the top of my head, here are guys from the teams listed that I like:
Brewers: Gallardo
Athletics: Reddick, Straily, Gray, Cespedes, Gentry, Norris/Jaso
Pirates: Polanco, Morton, Martin
Rangers: Martin, Alfaro
Mariners: Zunino, Paxton, Saunders
Diamondbacks: Miley, McCarthy, Parra, Prado
Phillies: Revere, Lee, Hamels, Crawford
White Sox: De Aza, Quintana
Reds: Leake, Cueto, Latos, Cingrani
Giants: Pagan, Brown, Cain
Bit of a tough fit. My favorite SP options are Miley and Masterson, and my favorite CF option is probably Greg Polanco but I know that may not go well for me lol. I like J.P. Crawford too even though he's not quite what I'm looking for, but I think he's gonna turn out really well. My favorite overall combination is the Mariners with Zunino (high B), Paxton (high B), Saunders (dunno but not very valuable but eh). I'd love to acquire Zunino, as he's my favorite player on the entire list. I really like the D-Backs' players too though. I'll think of a 3 team deal later. Thanks for the help in advance.

Alternatively, you could swap out Franco for Seager in the trade and try and keep Seager at SS, and then move Didi to 2B or something. Or, put Franco in the deal instead of Crawford, who's going to be a total stud, move Asche to second, and Seager to third."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Make the trade, move Franco to first, and bench Howard's *** minus the occasional day off for Franco.

The deal would Be Stanton for Franco, Seager, Urias, Crawford, and Pederson.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
i am not sure if anyone has noticed, but one of the may franchises i run is the marlins. i was looking of the spreadsheet and figuring up who woulld all be on the trading block for my teams. i noticed that casey mcgehee was still listed as a free agent on the list. with a trade value of either a c or c- (forgot which it was). but i was wondering if with him on a team and i believe 2 years of control would his trade value increase and to what?Comment
