Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
[QUOTE=dpower15;2046248140]it's hard coming up with premier power-hitting OF'ers that EXACTLY fit your criteria....only name that comes to mind is MAYBE CarGo or if ur willing to go a year older, Braun? however, there's a lot of 2nd-tier guys like Quentin, Viciedo, etc.Steelers | Seminoles | A's | Rockets | Avalanche | Wildcats, Hoosiers | LiverpoolComment

Don't necessarily have to be power hitters I suppose. I'd either want a power hitter or a guy who can hit .275 and play the field pretty well. They don't have to be stars, but an above average everyday player at the least. Another guy I might look into is Headley, I could move him to the outfield with Wright at 3b.
What about lefty starters that could realistically be moved?

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I'm running with OAK, and like the real club, Johnson is giving me trouble at the closer's position. I know that since they just traded for him, and since he's on a 1-year deal in the game, that it's not the most realistic move to consider trading him.
That said, I'd like to know if there are some fair options out there for him. I'd like perhaps a younger reliever in return and a role player in the field. I'm really pretty wide open in terms of potential targets. I'm good at C, 3B, 2B, SS, and LF for the foreseeable future and can live with what I have in CF and 1B.
I value good bullpen arms very highly, so it'd be nice to get a younger guy for the future (ready in 1-2 years max) if possible.
Thanks in advance for the responses!Steelers | Seminoles | A's | Rockets | Avalanche | Wildcats, Hoosiers | LiverpoolComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Here are some ideas of places to ship him and what to target in return. Bold = what I think is the most fair. Underlined = what I think is most realistic. Bold and Underlined = both.
To MIL to play 1B. In return for Wily Peralta + Khris Davis
To LAD to play 3B. In return for Joc Pederson + Alex Guerrero
To CWS to play 3B. For Dayan Viciedo + Micah Johnson + Matt Davidson
To NYY to play 2B. For Gary Sanchez + Pineda.
To BAL to play 2B. For Cruz/Markakis + Delmon Young
To COL to play 2B. For Wilin Rosario (not the best value but amazing for what you are looking for in a player. 95 contact and 98 power versus lefties.
To OAK to play 2B/3B. For Derek Norris + Donaldson
To BOS to play OF/3B. For Middlebrooks + Owens + Gomes
To TEX to play OF. For Andrus + Rios + Arendibia
To SEA to play OF. For Montero + Bloomquist + Nick Franklin
I like the idea of Rosario, but I felt trading them straight up would be a loss for me, so I also threw in a couple low end prospects that might bloom into something. I also have the setting on where it takes a couple days for the team to respond, but I was also looking at Chris Davis, Mike Napoli, Jose Abreu, Trevor Plouffe, Allen Craig, and Cody Ross. They are all batting below .180 so I'm thinking if I pair up Zobrist (.239/.286/.348) and Wilson Betemit (.351/.415/.405), one of the bigger names could be had. Also with the Colorado trade, they would be taking on ~ 10M, so I'm not sure if they will accept it.Comment

depending on how these teams are doing, Nick Markakis, Matt Joyce, Nori Aoki, Josh Reddick, Dom Brown, Dustin Ackley, Alex Rios would be considerable options in some form or another......realistic high-ended lefty starters is tough...Price is obviously the biggest fish...with an impasse in negotiations in real-life, maybe Lester? 2nd-tier guys like Travis Wood? Francisco Liriano? Jorge De La Rosa?...or if you don't mind a lil age, Cliff Lee?
I like the Markakis idea. Could even try to get Wei-Yin Chen in the deal as well which would make room for Bundy in the rotation and give me an LHP for mine.
How about something along the lines of Plawecki, de Grom, Cecchini for Markakis and Chen?
That would leave me the pieces to do something like Syndergaard, Montero, Nimmo, and another prospect or MLB ready younger player (maybe even ship Chen right back out of town) for Price.
Thoughts on both deals 37?

with Hardy as an uncertainty to be retained, I would probably want a major-league ready SS prospect so you can substitute Cecchini for Flores (even though his defense is iffy)...It seems like the value of Price has been diminished slightly in previous posts so I would think Syndergaard, Montero and Nimmo would be more than enough for Price
What about instead of subbing Cecchini I just add Stephen Drew? I signed him near the beginning of the season, not sure what the restriction is on trading him though.
I'd like to keep guys like Wheeler (for obvious reasons), Flores and d'Arnaud since they are prospects with their real pictures in the game. Seems silly, but helps me maintain some more realism. As the franchise progresses a few years in.
