    Red Sox:
    Stanton

    Marlins:
    Owens - A
    Cecchini/Marrero - B/B
    Barnes - B
Ranaudo - A? Shouldn't be but I think he is
Webster - A? Same as above
    Brentz - C

    Cubs:
    Shark

    Red Sox:
    Ball - Not realistic - A?
Workman - B? Think he is
    Vazquez - B

Both are going to HAVE to be overpays, so getting BOTH will kill the system.

    Byrd for Lavarnway and Britton?

Rios and Eithier probably don't have enough unless Betts for one straight up.

Playing as the Royals and out of contention near the trade deadline. I'm looking to deal James Shields. The Reds are in first place in the NL Central.

      Reds get:
      James Shields

      Royals get:
      Billy Hamilton
      Robert Stephenson
      Jeremy Kivel

      What do you think?

The Diamondbacks could also be a possibility here, as they are in first place in a competitive NL West. They seem to have quite a few upper level prospects, which is what I'm looking for. Any possibilities here?

I like the trade for Shark. Instead of Ball, what about Ranaudo? I think i'm going to hold off on the Stanton trade because I don't want to deplete my farm system. Instead of Byrd, what do you think about Eithier? The Dodgers outfield is deep and Eithier doesnt get much PT.

Do you think the Reds would deal Hamilton? I do not know a whole lot about the rest of their rotation so Shields might be a more pressing need. But from the few games I have watched, Hamilton seems to be their only offense with his speed on the bases.

The Reds do have a strong rotation already, although Shields would immediately be the best pitcher, ratings wise. Also, in my franchise Hamilton spent part of the season in the majors, hit .209 in about 200 ABs, and has been in the minors since. So, the Reds wouldn't be losing a starter or even a key replacement at this point.

Finally made the Cliff Lee deal! It's the end of June, and I sent him to LAD for Joc Pederson (who was recently called up to the MLB with the Dogers and was being used as a 4th OF, hitting .320 in about 20 ABs), Jose Dominguez, and Zach Lee.

Cliff had turned it around and was either 8-7 or 9-7, can't remember, and had an ERA of around 3.45.

Hamilton is far from their only offensive threat. Bruce and Votto can be very good. A rotation of Shields, Latos, Cueto, Bailey, and Cingrani would be scary. If the NL Central was tight, I wouldn't say that it couldn't happen.

Stephenson + Ervin + Kivel would be more realistic IMO, because Ervin is a more complete player, and also has good speed. I think the Reds think highly of Hamilton, and since they're in playoff push mode it doesn't make sense for them to get rid of their starting CF. Shields is a rental, but if the Reds think that's what will take them over the edge, it makes sense.

I guess it all just depends on both Shields and Hamilton's stats.

Edit: Just saw that Hamilton is in the minors.. go for him if you really want him I guess, since he's not contributing in the majors at all. Still think Ervin is more realistic though.

Any realistic way the Cubs would give up Bryant for pitching prospects + Hedges? I am in the offseason of year 1 and have a lot of pitching I can deal.

I was thinking about something like Hedges + Hahn (86 pot now and 71 ovr), Fried, and Kelly (85 pot now).

Finally brought myself to the realization that I need to move Matt Kemp. I'm not really looking for prospects and would prefer a 3B or a big bat in the OF. I've been trying to hold off to see what Puig and Crawford can do but they're still 1-3 weeks out from returning (having missed approx. 43 of the 54 games I've played) and my patience with Kemp has pretty much worn thin. Just to get an idea, what teams might be in need of an OF with solid ratings? I've got Kemp on the block and the only teams that are "interested" are Arizona and Atlanta. I wouldn't send him to Arizona and keep him in the division, Atlanta only has one bat I would be interested in with Justin Upton (which is highly unrealistic) so outside of trying to get a SP from them to move on from the debacle that has been Dan Haren I don't see much in Atlanta either. Would a package of Ryu and Kemp get a blockbuster deal done bringing me a big bat to cement in the middle of my lineup? Just curious what type of feedback I might get so fire away.

Are you looking for more a proven veteran type guy who might only have a few good years left or a guy in his prime? From what I read on your post it doesn't seem like you're interested in a younger type guy, am I correct?

It would definitely take a lot considering he's a stud prospect. I think if they would even consider doing it, Castro would have to be playing very well at SS and they could feel comfortable moving Baez to 3rd.

Just throwing out some ideas here like you said...

Kemp to Boston for a package around Will Middlebrooks and Jackie Bradley Jr

Kemp to Seattle for a package around Kyle Seager and Nick Franklin.

Kemp to St.Louis for a package around Allen Craig and Miller/Wacha/Rosenthal.

I think this one's a bit of an overpay, especially considering Kemp's injury history and salary.

You have a good point there my friend. I could see Craig and Miller combined for Kemp but Wacha/Rosenthal are tougher targets
