Hmmmm. Latos has been pretty average it looks like. His value will be a bit lower..

Of the teams in the race, probably only LAD, BOS, and STL have the prospects to get it done. STL might be a poor choice given the rivalry of those teams. So, either BOS or LAD seems best.

    Possible Boston deal:
Any 3 of Betts, Bradley Jr., Cecchini, Ranaudo, Owens, Webster

Are you looking for a certain position? A couple of these guys are MLB ready or have already debuted.

    Possible Dodgers deal:
Any 2 of Urias, Seager, Pederson and toss in Zach Lee.

And here's a crazy one depending on LAD's OF and what you think about Matt Kemp.

Latos for Kemp + Zach Lee

Thanks for the reply. Ya know I thought about Kemp, but I wasn't sure about taking on all that salary since they (we) would be trading Latos because we can't afford to pay him after this season. I'd love to have Kemp's bat in LF, no doubt, he would be an ideal piece skill wise. I'm trying to work within the restraint of a real world Cincy budget lol.

Like I said, SS and LF are positions of need, more stick than glove. I could package Cozart with Latos if necessary. I'd love to get a SS who punches above what Cozart does on offense especially. Reds organization doesn't have any great OF prospects that are near ready, though I could try to ride Heisey until Ervin is ready. Though Ervin profiles more like a CF bat then a LF bat.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Thanks for the previous input on the trades fellas! Its July in my 30 team chise so I'm going through and trying to pick out some of the more notable trades that "should" happen. Need help grinding this one out:

        MIL Receives:
        JR Graham/Cody Martin (ATL)?

        ATL Receives:
        Rickie Weeks (MIL)

ATL desperately needs to replace Uggla. MIL can afford to trade away Weeks. MIL desperately needs a 1B with their current one batting a downright uggla .155 through ~250 AB. (You see what I did there? A play on words.)

I thought of a followup trade for MIL, trading for either Texeira or Ike Davis. Yankees are in sell mode and I could see them giving up Tex and eating the bulk of his contract to make a deal happen. But I'm not sure if this is contrary to popular opinion/reason?

        Or perhaps something like:

        MIL Receives:
        Ike Davis

        ATL Receives:
        Rickie Weeks

        NYM Receives:
B grade ish prospect from ATL?

What's a fair trade for Headley to the Cardinals. I'm thinking something starting with James Ramsey and maybe Mercado? Should I get more or less back for Headley? I'd probably swap Carpenter to 2B and the Cards would have a terrifying lineup.

Would Headley to the Braves (move Headley to LF or RF and put BJ on the pine) make more sense? Would Sims be a possibility to get back?

Just curious about a trade here. What would it take to get Andrus to the cardinals? I am not a huge fan of Peralta and am just looking around a little bit.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Had an interesting trade offer from the Jays. They offered me Aaron Sanchez, Mitch Nay, and Dawel Lugo for Cole Hamels. Here's some info from my franchise:

Jays are 56-42, 1.5 behind Rays in AL East and lead AL Wild Card Race.

              Their Rotation:

              Marcus Stroman: 10-3 2.57 ERA 133 K's in 136.2 IP 1.02 WHIP
              Brandon Morrow: 5-8 4.44 ERA 106 K's in 115.2 IP 1.42 WHIP
              Mark Buehrle: 8-4 3.16 ERA 55 K's in 128.1 IP 1.16 WHIP
              Drew Hutchison: 8-7 4.91 ERA 117 K's in 117.1 IP 1.42 WHIP
              Dustin McGowan: 1-4 3.26 ERA 40 K's in 49.2 IP 1.55 WHIP

R.A. Dickey is out 5-6 Months with a Head Fracture.

              In AAA, Aaron Sanchez is 3-3 with a 3.81 ERA, 75 K's in 52 IP, 1.21 WHIP
Mitch Nay in AA hitting .255 with 7 HRs and 28 RBI in 239 ABs
Dawel Lugo in AA hitting .278 with 2 HRs and 23 RBI in 248 ABs

              Cole Hamels is 8-3 with a 2.45 ERA, with 88 K's in 124.2 IP (a little alarming) and a .89 WHIP

Would the Jays make this move realistically? Would they take on the contract on a Hamels when they could go after someone like Samardzija instead?

The Red Sox also offered me Trey Ball, Henry Owens, and Blake Swihart for Hamels. I can give stats for that trade if necessary.

Offseason before 2015, what do you guys think of brining Matt Kemp to Toronto for Brett Lawrie and a 20 year old 62 ovr/A pot starting pitcher?

Let me shed some light on my reasoning..

Kemp is now 30, coming off a 2014 season in which he hit .263 with only 14 homeruns. Mattingly has been fired, and trading Kemp now ensures LA the ability to keep Hanley if that was ever in doubt. They still have the rest of their outfield in tact, with Pederson apparently ready to make the jump.

Lawrie is a huge upgrade over the 100 year old Juan Uribe. Still just 25, Lawrie has a a few years of team control left since I had signed him to a 3 year extension on the cheap. Regarding the pitcher, I just wanted to make sure I kick them an A prospect.

I'm certainly willing to give up some more, just figured I would let you know my thoughts.

Take whichever package you want. Blue Jays and Red Sox both make that deal.

The Jays' package is better, though.
