Hamels is 11-6 with a 2.75, Rollins is .264 with 8 Hr and 41 RBI. Their 3 guys have no MLB time.

You could probably get another minor piece in the deal to make slightly more fair.

Having trouble seeing how the Twins would give up quality prospects for a huge contract (Hamels) and a rental (Rollins). Maybe they've changed owners in your franchise and are looking to contend right away . By all means, go for it then if it'll lead them to a title and playoff run from the Central

The rockies are getting screwed there. Not nearly enough back for CarGo and Butler.

Colorado gets a number 1 pitcher for their rotation and gives up arguably their best hitter. Doesn't make sense if they're trying to contend. Schierholtz and Murphy don't make up what is lost with CarGo.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Hey guys! I used this thread a lot last year in my Twins chise and it helped me a ton! (Played every game and missed the playoffs by losing the last day of the season..) So, I'm back with 2 questions!

1.) I'm only 20 games into my season, so far i'm 10-10 tied for first place in the Central. (I'm the Twins again) My SP has been pretty good, but I'm sick of being near dead last in strikeouts.. Virtually all of my pitchers have a 55 K/9 rating or lower.. So I'm looking for a strikeout pitcher under 30, that isnt going to cost an arm and leg. I'm willing to give up Kohl Stewart, Eddie Rosario, Oswaldo Arcia, Aaron Hicks, etc.. Basically every prospect/young player besides Miguel Sano and Byron Buxton! If you guys could make a list I'd really appreciate it!

Heres some trade targets I've thought off..

Brandon Beachy, Mike Minor, Ubaldo Jimenez, Johan Santana (reunite), Felix Doubront, Edwin Jackson, Trevor Bauer (I don't mind trading in division) Jarred Cosart? Mike foltynewicz (Hes my cousin, although probably an unrealistic trade target) Chris Anderson (Again probably unrealistic, but was my teamate in High school) Yovani Gallardo, Tim Lincecum (My favorite player, I'd want him pretty badly)

Sorry for the wall of text, just a quick list I came up with. Some help on whats realisic/best bargain would be great!

2.) Since I'm only 20 games into my franchise using Knight's OSFM full minors, is it worth starting over and using OSFM Hybrid V2?

It's not that I don't want someone young I just don't want raw prospects if I can help it. Kemp is 29, has really solid ratings but for whatever reason I simply can't hit with him (although he appears to be heating up a little at least) but having said that I'm not entirely sure what I would want in return. My original idea was someone at third but Uribe is #2 on the team in RBI's so not sure if benching him would make me any better. I really am not a Dee Gordon fan but he's my only real steals guy and when he does get on can manufacture runs really well for me so not sure replacing him is the best solution plus I already have a top end prospect behind him in Guerrero. As far as OF goes once Crawford and Puig return, which should be within the next 2 weeks I'd have those two as well as Ethier and Pederson is hitting really well for me so adding a 5th OF might just muddy the waters all over again. So I guess in the end I'm unsure what I want other then maybe another SP to move Haren out of the rotation or a stud bullpen arm and a prospect perhaps as the pen can be shaky at times.

Kemp to Seattle for a package around Kyle Seager and Nick Franklin.

Kemp to St.Louis for a package around Allen Craig and Miller/Wacha/Rosenthal.
I'll look at those trades in game but don't see anyway St Louis would trade Wacha and Craig for Kemp, or even Rosenthal for that matter. I suppose Miller would be more dependant on how he's doing currently. I had dreams of getting a true HR hitter, if it was an OF'er then I'd deal away Ethier as well most likely just to save the money or keep him as a platoon guy who can step in at all 3 spots and cover for any injuries or when guys need days off. Allen Craig is pretty tempting since he can play first that way when Adrian needs a day off he can sub in there, I currently have to use AJ Ellis there and that's certainly not ideal, plus I could start Crawford in CF, keep Puig in RF and Craig in LF while using Ethier as a sub. Like another poster mentioned, Kemp's contract is absurd and he's only in the first year of a 5 or 6 year deal so it would be tough to find a team that could take on that contract while still getting solid enough talent in return.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'll take a peak in game and see what looks the best. Any other opinons are welcome.

                  1) I like Gallardo the most out of those options. Rosario + Thorpe/Beirros(sp?) i would think would be enough.

                  2) It really depends on how you like to 'Chise. I prefer opening day rosters so I am going to use Totte's backdated rosters of the Hybrids. Just be fairly warned that the overalls on the hybrids aren't indicative of how good the rosters are, Willard and co, were incredibly meticulous with the hybrids but some people are dismissing them because they made a 90 rated player rare, which is how it really should be.

Well, who are you playing with? If you're the Rockies, and you want all of those guys, just do separate trades for Samardzija + Schierholtz then for Murphy. I'm not a big fan of three team trade proposals where that many guys are getting moved around, it's just sloppy. Butler + Dahl + Matzek for Samardzija + Schierholtz, then any low B prospect you want to part with for Murphy.

If you're the Mets, just trade for Castro. Montero + d'Arnaud or straight up for Syndergaard.

And finally, if you're the Cubs, and want to get rid of any guys listed above, do it.

Was Thinking about Shipping out Alfonso Soriano for a youngish reliever to bolster my bullpen, then I was thinking about possibly shifting Jeter to DH and dealing for a SS. I'm also considering making a move for Michael Morse. Thoughts?

Disclaimer: going for fairness not realism. Picked up these prospects not knowing they belonged to another team, I'm in July 28th. Again signing these guys and trading them isn't really realistic, neither is owning them, but I do want this deal to be fair.

Marlins (48-58 18 GB, 11.5 GB) get SP Bruce Billings (26 68 B, 8-2 3.37 AAA) My highest rated prospect/player potential wise. Has grown 2 thus far since ST.
SP Chris Kohler (18 63 B, 0-3 37.1 IP 23 SO 2.89 AAA) Picked him up, didn't know he was on a team. Grown 1 thus far. Outgrew AA really quick.
SP Bryan Mitchell (23 70 B, 0-0 9.1 IP 8.68 MLB) Forgot his AAA stats but he was on fire, called him up when Nova went down. Has struggled a bit in the majors.
LF Justin Williams (18 57 B, .271 4 HR 38 RBI AA) Same as Kohler. Guy has grown 3, playing well in AA.
RF Justin Higley (21 67 B, .323 8 HR 49 RBI AAA) same as Kohler/Williams, killing it at AAA.
2B Corban Joseph (25 59 B, .294 0 HR 7 RBI AA) Struggled a bit in AAA after being injured, has hit .440 in the past 3 weeks. About to go back to AAA.
SS Starlin Castro (23 83 A, .213 3 HR 30 RBI) Took the Sanchez + Pineda trade to make this a 3 team deal. Also to get an A in there.

Cubs (47-58 13 GB, 12 GB)) get SP Michael Pineda (25 80 B, 10-5 3.90) My best pitcher thus far, has been left too long in games but has dominated since May going 8-3 1.98 ERA.
C Gary Sanchez (21 63 B, .336 4 HR 20 RBI AAA) Dominated AA in April and has gotten off too a great start in AAA.

Yanks (58-48 1.5 GA) get RF Giancarlo Stanton (24 86 A, .256 16 HR 47 RBI) Going to be making Beltran a DH full time
                            2B Rafael Furcal (36 75 B, .183 4 HR 35 RBI)
                            RP Carlos Marmol (31 72 C, 1-6 5.43)

Furcal and Marmol are just cap relief. They have been awful for the Fish.

Javier Baez is hitting .268 18 HR 66 RBI in AAA. He would be called up to cover for Starlin. Also prospects listed in terms of potential.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Looking for some advice in my Cubs franchise. I'm only in May, so I may not make a deal this early, but I want to have a plan.

My issue is with the middle infield. I'm very excited about the future of Javier Baez, and my initial plan was to eventually trade Darwin Barney and transition Baez into a 2nd baseman, keeping Castro at short.

But then I thought maybe when Baez is ready I could trade Castro & hopefully get some nice pieces back to help in my rebuild.

Baez is currently a 73 OVR in Triple A, with A potential. I was thinking by August or September I'd call him up, and he'd have an everyday role by 2015.

So to sum up, should I trade Barney, and plug Baez into 2B? Or, should I make a bigger scale deal trading Castro for a good return, and keep Baez at SS? Advice/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
