I think he means Jorge Alfaro Catcher.
    He should be a mid-high B.....

Gallo's power might make him a bit of a reach....I guess it depends on the depth of Texas at C.

Yes, I meant Jorge Alfaro, thanks.

After looking more, I think Cosart and Turner fill a gap in LAA pitching well. C.J. and K. Cowart (#4 LAA prospect) fill a Marlins need well. So...

      J. Cosart + J. Turner + (pick 'em, I have a bunch of arms if needed) ... maybe D. Solano as utility IF?

      for

      C.J. Cron + K. Cowart

Looks good to me. For the "pick 'em" just throw in a high C.

This deal doesn't look bad at all. One thing you could do if you actually did want to keep Cosart is to change his delivery to something similar, but that you don't mind seeing possibly 100 times per start.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

2014 offseason and im looking for top of the rotation starting pitcher for the cubs, and there isn't a lot of qaulity on the free agent market. Im tossing around some potential trade targets and Ive came up with Jordan Zimmerman (18-5 3.12 era in 2014) and David Price (17-12 3.39 era in 2014). Washington resigned Fister and the same goes for Scherzer in Detroit. So I figured these 2 would be at least semi realistic to target since they are both entering the last year of their contracts. If I were to trade with the Nationals Id like to add AJ Cole into the deal if at all possible. No major changes in the cubs roster and the only 2 players that are untouchable to me are Alcantara and Bryant, and Soler would be hard for me to part with. Any idea on some trades I might be able to put together for these 2 guys? Or any other ideas?

How are the Nationals and the Rays doing? If they are doing good it would be hard to get those guys

Im in the offseason now, but the Rays barely missed the playoffs and the Nats were elminated in the wildcard game.

Is it at all realistic for the Padres to give up Austin Hedges? I notice in the spreadsheet he doesnt have any notes by him.

It's not likely unless the Padres are contending deep into the season. If they're bad, I don't see why they would.

They are up 2 games on the Dodgers for the west mid-august, and Grandal is hitting at .287 with 27 HRs.

Im the Cubs, and I really want that catcher of the future, and Its not likely that Schwarber is that guy irl, plus Im not sure if Im going to create him. same goes for Caritini they just got from the Braves

If San Diego is leading the division, then I could see it happening. Although, I am scared of your rosters if Grandal is hitting like that, lol.

It's about what you're willing to give up in MLB talent that SD would need.

Yeah Grandal is insane, I was shocked when I saw his numbers, Im really willing to give up anything off the pro roster (obviously Castro would be hard to see go but I wouldnt lose my mind over it) Im thinking about centering a deal around Travis Wood, he's having a good year but ive never been that good with him, and pitching seems to be the Padres weakest area.

Again though Im not sure Im going this route, just curious if its even slightly plausible

Nearing the deadline and my moves so far are:
                            Kubel to Reds
                            Alexi Ramirez to A's
                            Rios/Feliz to KC
                            Colon to Detroit
                            Willingham to Braves

These are the other trades I am considering

Padres are contending and could use a lefty arm:

Tex: SP Burch Smith (Mid C)
                            SD: Cotts 2.45 ERA

Yanks need a 3rd basemen and Giants are struggling:

                            NY: Sandoval (.282, 21 HR, 48 RBI)
SF: Nova, CF Slade Heathcott (High C), Solarte

The Central is up for the taking and the Indians are 5.5 back and really need a DH. Howard is actually having a good year.

                            CLE: Howard (.281, 22 HR, 57 RBI)
PHI: SP Cloyd (B), SP Anderson (B)

Sox are tied for first and Peavy and Lackey are on the DL:

                            Boston: Ruiz, Hamels
                            Philly: Betts, Barnes, Cecchini, Swihart

Toronto is tied for first and needs a starter:
                            Tor: Gallardo (8-8, 5.06 ERA)
                            MIL: Stilson, Lopes

Also the Dodgers and Seattle are both contending and I was thinking about doing a Kemp trade between the 2. Kemp is only hitting .228. The Dodgers only needs are 2nd and 3rd. Idk what to do. Maybe a 3 team trade?

I would like to make the Shark to Oakland trade but Hammel couldn't be involved as he has no value in my game. Would Shark for Straily and Russell be ok?

Still very, very early in my Astros Franchise, but it's never too early to think about the future, and possible moves:

                              Deal 1:
A trade centered around Altuve to the Cardinals for Wong+. I really like Lance Lynn, Stephen Piscotty, Carlos Martinez, and quite a few others as well.

Obviously, I do not expect all of them, but any idea on Altuve's worth here? He's putting up super good #'s very similar to real life, and I am not even sure I would deal him unless I got a nice package - especially considering his contract.
                              ---
                              Deal 2:
Josh Collmenter + Didi G from the Diamondbacks. More of a minor trade compared to the other two. I would be willing to deal prospects/players here. I believe spreadsheet had 2 C's and 1 B.

I would consider possibly giving up Delino DeShields Jr, Domingo Santana, or Lance McCullers Jr. as the main piece.
                              ---
                              Deal 3:
A trade centered around Sonny Gray for Altuve. This one is a stretch, but is by far the most intriguing, and one I would especially enjoy hearing some thoughts on.

Thoughts on these as far as realism/fairness? These would take place in the 2015 offseason as well. Thanks in advance!

Deal 1: Me personally, as an Astros fan seeing how good Altuve is playing, I would say Kolten Wong is actually a downgrade. He hasn't played as long or done as much as Altuve, and you have Altuve in a team friendly contract.

Deal 2: I could see this happening. DeShields Jr. Could net you both

Deal 3: it would be very hard for the A's to trade Gray but they may for Altuve. Again, If I were you I don't know if I would trade Altuve right now.
