Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Yeah they don't have much depth which is why I'm targeting Rondon. As I said tho im 99% sure Martinez will retire after this season the Tigers will have a whole to fill regardless. I would think they would want a guy who's still pretty young and is one his way to another 35+ HR seasonComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Any idea what I could get back for Davis tho? I was thinking at least a mid BComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I don't see Davis returning anything higher than a C unless something else is thrown in with him.
The Mets traded him to the Pirates for Zack Thornton earlier this year, who is a 25yo 63ovr, 73c pot, pitcher (in the game) and a PTBNL. Davis' value is a platoon guy and those don't return much on their own.
If you throw Davis + Hefner (or another high 70s older pitcher) to a contender that needs a pitcher and a LH bat, maybe you can get a return like the Red Sox got from the Cardinals. A return that is MLB ready and has upside. Just a thought.Nebraska Cornhuskers Detroit Tigers San Francisco 49ers Detroit Red Wings Syracuse Orange New York KnicksComment

He's currently hitting .289 with 21 HR and 53 RBI. .528 SLG% .367 OBP & .895 OPS. Last year he hit about .260 with 39 HR and 100 RBI. I only want to trade him because I have another 1B coming up behind him that I know I can match or exceed his production & he's entering arbitration years and is gonna ask for 6M.
I think those numbers plus the fact that he's only 26 deserves something decent in return.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I have my eyes set on acquiring Tony Cingrani in my Astros Franchise during the offseason.
Just revisiting the OP spreadsheet, and he is listed under ''unrealistic". Is this still warranted given that he seems to have fallen out of favor due to struggles, and the Reds rotation is stacked w/Cueto, Latos, Simon, Leake and Bailey.
Stephenson, Lorenzen, Lively, Holmberg and Corcino are all knocking on the door as well.
I am willing to overpay to acquire him (listed as 2 B's - High and Mid, I believe), and I have a few pieces that may interest the Reds in:
Domingo Santana, OF
Delino DeShields Jr, OF/IF
Nolan Fontana, SS
Lance McCullers, P
+ a plethora of others.
Anyone runnings a Reds Chise', or have an insight on what the Reds would want in return?
Thanks,Last edited by Coper3000; 08-05-2014, 07:16 PM.Comment

Santana is a good start. Not sure what else they'd want."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

McCullers is a good young prospect so maybe Santana+McCullers would get the Reds thinking possibly. May have to add another low B or something like thatComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Hey guys, Gerrit Cole just got hurt for a month and a half two says before the trade deadline and with the Pirates up by only 1.5 games over the Reds and 3.0 over St. Louis, is this a fair deal/Do I do this trade;
I get:
Gio Gonzalez (6-8,4.35)
Wilson Ramos (.320,8 HR,29 RBI) (Ramos was out for a full month and a half)
Nationals get:
Russell Martin (.262,15HR,46RBI) ( Martin was the backup catcher in the ASG)
Josh Harrison (.228,5HR,18RBI) (Harrison does not start, plays 2B and outfield)
Austin Meadows (Mid-A potential prospect, 18 years old)
The nationals are 7 games up on the second place Braves in the NL Central, and have aquired Johnny Cueto and Jarrod Parker, need an outfielder as they traded away Jason Werth.
Baseball: Chicago White Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates
