Like Shock asked, what teams were contending in 2014? Someone like Braun would appeal a lot of teams so you're basically looking at maybe 10-12 teams as buyers in the get go. Then we break it down into need for a corner OF or DH. Then you can look at the different organizations and their available prospects to get a better feel on who matches up best as your trade partner.

So, the O's are out of it as I mentioned earlier. I'd figure they're just about in full rebuild mode since they've lost Markakis, Davis, and a few other key pieces via free agency or trade. Do you guys think that the O's would trade away Matt Wieters in his final year as an Oriole? If so what'd type of return would Wieters get?Comment

Yes they would.
What numbers are Wieters producing?

I think it kind of depends on who you ask honestly.
To me I could see them doing this and moving Profar back to his original position at SS and keeping Odor at 2nd. Hamels would give them the pitching help they need as well as an elite pitcher alongside Darvish.
I don't like the Rangers one bit but I see this helping their playoff chances next year lolComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Hey guys I was wondering what kind of package I could get in my Marlins franchise for Jose Fernandez. I know he's great, but I play all 162 games, and I am 2 months in and he has a 4.66 ERA. I just can't pitch with him. Everyone else on my staff (Cosart,Josh Johnson,Heaney,Urias) is great, but I can't pitch with Fernandez. I'm all for realism, so what teams have the best package to give? Teams currently "In the Hunt" are Seattle, Kansas City, Detroit, Cleveland, LAD, LAA, BOS, NYY, NYM, WAS, MIN, CHC, BAL, STL, SFG, Milwaukee, and SD.

Wieters isn't doing great. He's at .243 with 11 HR and 23 RBI. We're in July in my season just after the all-star break, but there's not a team that makes sense right now.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I'd say keep Wieters around to see if a need opens up somewhere due to injury between now and the deadline. The return package is hard to predict when we don't know his destination but get back to us in the thread later in July.
If there's no obvious need for any team, I'd send him down to Texas or to Anaheim. Either one of those two could use a boost in catching if they're running with their respective 2014 tandemFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

How does Andrus + Sardinas + Mid Level Pitching Prospect work?Phillies | A's | Michigan State | Browns | Chelsea FC | BruinsComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
With the propsects, I think sardinas+odor+jackson could work but would need another piece from PHI as well as Hamels. A development OF perhaps."for love of the game" - B. ChapelComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Alright, I'll have to check on Andrus' stats in game as I'm not that high on him in real life if I decide to go the Texas route.
How about the Cubs? Castro the most likely to go? If it's Castro could I add a piece?Last edited by ESexton18; 08-16-2014, 08:40 AM.Phillies | A's | Michigan State | Browns | Chelsea FC | BruinsComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Depends on Castro's stats but something minor, yes. Nothing fancy or anything like that though - Brett Jackson maybe haha. Are the Cubs contending this year? If not, you could probably get Castro and E-Jax for Hamels and one of the somewhat young bullpen arms like DeFratus/Rosenberg/DiekmanFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Castro is not going for Hamels
You're lucky to get Andrus straight up for him
Realistically you're looking at Arismendy Alcantara + a minor piece or two"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
You don't think Hamels is worth more than that the way he pitched this year? I'm not saying he'd get Baez, Russel, or Bryant, but Alcantara + Almora + a minor piece doesn't seem unnecessary. Maybe Soler instead of Almora, although he's been just as good as Bryant lately.Phillies | A's | Michigan State | Browns | Chelsea FC | BruinsComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Yeah I hear you. But it's probably the same as what a SP like Scherzer or Lester will get in Free Agency. Who do you see as potential trade fits then? I was just thinking the Cubs and Texas because they have money, I've done the dodgers before for the same reason.
I could see the Red Sox and Yankees in play as well. I know not to demand too much in return since the contract is so pricy. I've done Urias and Pederson for Hamels before and many said that was fair (including yourself). I guess that's the kind of value I'd be looking for.Phillies | A's | Michigan State | Browns | Chelsea FC | BruinsComment
